FOXNEWSW Outnumbered Overtime With Harris Faulkner September 16, 2020

It caused major flooding and damage along the alabama coast and florida panhandle. The storm also knocked out electricity to thousands of people. Charles watson is live for us in alabama now. Charles . Hey, harris. The good news is it appears the worst of Hurricane Sally is passed. The bad news is the damage its left behind, particularly here in downtown mobile. Case in point, this restaurant here. You can see a part of this storefront completely blown out, and this tv also taken a beating, as well. That seems to be the theme as you walk down these downtown mobile streets. Glass all over the ground, twisted metal over the place. That utility box probably a good indicator of how powerful the storm was, how powerful the wind was. You can see it is just leaning on its side. Across the street over there, that business missing it storefront, also missing a big chunk of its window. We spoke to the owner a short time ago who said he was surprised that the power of the storm. We didnt expect the storm to be as strong as it turned out to be. Its a Big Inconvenience and a surprise, that it actually did the damage that it did. And that store owners awning is a couple hundred feet away, across the street at that park over there. A lot of damage done here in mobile. Folks have already been out cleaning up. Its going to be a long process, harris. Harris yeah, you know, the one thing we arent seeing there that we are in other places are the punishing rains. Floodwaters in some places. It looks like everybody got a different chunk of sally. Charles watson, think you very much. New polling is coming out of key battleground states now, including florida. A new monmouth poll shows joe bidens leading President Trump by five points among likely voters according to a high turnout model. The former Vice President s advantage starts to narrow to just three points if fewer people vote. The last two president ial elections in florida decided by a single percentage point, as you may know. Peter doocy now, more from wilmington, delaware. Peter . Harris, biden has a doubledigit lead with latino voters in florida, but his numbers are softer there with that group then Hillary Clintons were four years ago. He was up on trump with latinos in florida 5832 and a monmouth poll out yesterday, four points worst for him. Trump is doing three points better. He expressed confidence that has outreach to hispanic voters is not coming too late. No, not at all. Take a look at the numbers. You can read all the numbers, we are doing just fine. Let me finish. I think what it is, a significant portion of the public [inaudible audio] in wisconsin come where the president is trying to cast democrats as sympathetic to lawless riders, he is trailing biden by six points in the Washington Post poll, suggesting the law and order heavy messages not resonating with all voters in that state that trump won last time. Biden has been traveling a lot more outside of delaware, but we dont expect major changes to the ground game as the trump team knocks on millions of doors and the biden team has knocked on none. They dont plan to play catch up. I have the title of Campaign Manager, but thats what i do. I know this better than any part of the campaign. What matters about organizing is engaging with voters and having real conversations. We spent so much time talking about tactics, but fundamentally, knocking on the door and not reaching anyone doesnt get you much except leaving a piece of mail behind. You might as well send a piece of mail. We are here about 15 minutes away from bidens primary residence in wilmington. Hes getting a briefing from experts about a Covid Vaccine right now. He is going to talk to us about what he heard next hour. Harris . Harris all right, asking questions and getting answers. Peter doocy, nobody does it better than you. Thank you. We have video of the countries that are going to be joining us. They will be joining us soon. We will have i mean, i think seven or eight or nine. We will have a lot of other countries joining us, including the big ones. Harris President Trump they are celebrating the middle east Peace Agreement between israel and two arab nations yesterday that formalize their relations, or normalized them, at the white house. We would say both there, yesterday. Seeing we could see more of the sort of thing. But the Major Networks appeared dismissive of the historic accords. Watch for yourself. As Andrea Mitchell reports, broader middle east peace is still an elusive goal. Todays agreements open the doors for trade, travel, and tourism, but it is not middle east peace. Left out, the palestinians. But its more of a business deal than a peace accord. The three countries are not engaged in armed conflict. Peace across the entire region. President trump proclaiming is a Peace Agreement, but the countries were not at war. Left out of the deal, the palestinians, who called the agreement a betrayal. Harris my first guest played a key role in brokering those agreements. Jared kushner, Senior Advisor to the president of the united states, is with me now. Good to see you today. I have a lot i want to get to, but lets start with the middle east and the coverage of that yesterday. What is your reaction to it . First of all, harris, its great to be with you. I remember being with you at the embassy move in jerusalem where all the same experts belittling this deal were saying that would lead to war and chaos in the middle east, and that President Trump keeping his promise in recognizing israels sovereign right to declare their own capital was something that was, for whatever reason, going to make the middle east less safe. Well, the opposite has happened. I think weve seen over the last three years is the people who hate President Trump, often irrationally, have been wrong and continue to be wrong. They said that, when President Trump was elected to office, wed see world war iii. Yesterday at the white house we signed two peace deals. Just to give context to your audience, the last peace deal that was signed in the middle east was 26 years ago between israel and jordan, and 72 years of israels history, theyve signed only two peace deals. In the last month, weve done two peace deals in addition to those two. Once again, when President Trump took office, the middle east was a mess. The socalled experts in washington had their own way of doing it. Quite frankly, their way lead to a lot of instability and a lot of failure, which hurt americans in the middle east. President trump is creating peace and pushing the region and much, much more positive direction. Harris jared, i want to get to this, because he may not have been watching last hour. On outnumbered we had the former house speaker. He actually talked about you and whats been accomplished. Lets watch. I give Jared Kushner a lot of credit, they developed the very first trip overseas, to riyadh, where the king of saudi arabia brought 54 different countries. The largest muslim gathering ever with an american president. Harris i wanted you just to see a little bit of that. You mentioned the embassy opening, and moving from tel aviv to jerusalem being part of that. Newt gingrich said, as well. Let me ask you this, because there is criticism about where the palestinians how they will get a seat at the table. What is your take on outreach to them in the future . First of all, i appreciate the graceful comments from the speaker. Again, the results yesterday are the fruits of three years of labor that started at the president s first trip. He has a strategy and hes been executing it the entire time. For years, the last 25 years, we all have a perfect track record of not having a successful agreement with them. Thats because the incentives have been all wrong. President trumps strategy is to not do stupid things, not keep old habits that dont work. What hes done is hes the first president to outline a realistic vision for what a Peace Agreement can look like between the israelis and the palestinians. That was a 180 page proposal, add an economic component. No matter what your religion or nationality, people want to live a better life, have opportunity. That plan would create a million new palestinian jobs, doubled their gdp, reduce the poverty rate by 50 . He also wants to get israel to agree to negotiate on the basis of a map. Something that had not happened in 25 years of negotiating. Theres a public map israel agrees to negotiate on the basis of. Weve moved the ball much closer to the hole, and illuminated the veto. One final thing, the reason why this conflict has gone unsolved for so long as you have the conflation of two different issues. You have the israeli arab conflict, which is about the mosque and old issues, and thats with these Peace Agreements dead. Its really the beginning of the end of the israeli arab conflict, and then you have the israelipalestinian conflict which at its core is really a territorial dispute between two people based on fighting three wars over the last 70 years. At the end of the day, you have a lot of u. N. Resolutions that, quite friendly, were antisemitic in nature. Not coherent. We need to just resolve that territorial dispute. Thats how that ultimately will get resolved. The moves yesterday were the first piece breakthroughs in the middle east and 26 years, but im very confident that will make it more likely that they will be a resolution with the palestinians in a fair way at the time when people are ready to make peace. Harris boy, i tell you, its great to get your take on some of the things that have not been talked about yet, particularly with regard to the palestinians and how that will come. I mean, hamas stands in the way and always has, but to know what could come down the pike for them is really interesting. Jared kushner on the program for the first time. Thank you very much. I appreciate your time and expertise in you being on outnumbered overtime. Thank you, harris. Its an honor to be with you. Harris take care. The White House Press briefing, by the way, with kayleigh mcenany, is about to get underway at any moment. Well take you to that lectern as soon as she walks up. Plus, the verbal missteps are piling up for joe biden and Kamala Harris. Whether these mistakes could make voters think twice. A Harris Administration together with joe biden, as the president of the united states, the bidenHarris Administration, will have access provide access to 100 billion in low interest loans and investments for minority business owners. The harrisbiden administration is going to be lots of effort and make it easier for military spouses and veterans to find meaningful careers. Harris those gaffes are piling up for team biden in the runup to the election. Both joe biden and Kamala Harris putting her at the top of the ticket in dueling slipups. Then there was this moment at a hispanic heritage month event in florida, when biden played the song despacito from his phone. Senior Trump Campaign advisor Mercedes Schlapp tweeted, does joe biden realize that despacito means slowly . Fits in with slow joe. Others chiming on twitter, saying, at every event, joe biden is ambushed by himself. And, joe biden is the reallife old and unlikable version of michael scott, the clueless lead character from the office. Ouch. Joining me now is zach friend, former spokesperson for president obamas 2008 president ial campaign. Zach, are these the kinds of things that cause headaches for the Campaign Messengers . Those press secretaries, so on and so forth . I dont think right now, given the magnitude of the issues in 2020, that really these kinds of missteps or candidate misstatements are the top of anyones issues. Just last night, as you know, the president of the town hall, he had a number of verbal miscues, but we knew what he meant. He said a herd mentality when he meant herd immunity. These are the kinds of things thatll happen on the campaign trail. Given the magnitude of the issues with covid and unemployment on the number of businesses closing, kids not going to school, it really doesnt rise to the top in 2020. Harris thats a fair example. I do want to hit the harrisbiden thing, though. I am certain it wasnt written for him that way, and maybe it was a make good on what she had first said. What is happening . We hadnt seen a lot of her, and i am wondering if thats because maybe no one wants the stars to be competing between these two people. Whats happening there . Why get the name of the administration wrong twice . Shes been out a lot. She was out here yesterday and my home state of california, and she has been in New Hampshire and florida harris did she take questions . Beco i dont actually know, harris. Harris thats what i mean. Thats what i mean by out. Shes been outside of the bubble, out meeting with voters. They are differently getting her out and about a lot. You will see more of her in the last 49 days. Harris is it confusing to have her name atop the ticket . Im just wondering. You are right, there are other issues people could be talking about, but its just we know that she is popular. Im seeing some of the numbers on her in different states. What does that create behind the scenes . You know, because youve been behind the scenes. Yeah. I worked with her a lot. She was put onto the ticket because she adds a lot to the ticket. I dont think two comments of a harrisbiden and administration set by her, him, or any bunny, to read into. I would read into the result of not just them, but the current administration. Ultimately, harris, elections really are decisions on whether youre better off than you were four years ago. Harris 100 . They will make that judgment for themselves. Harris another biden staffer sidestepped a question over whether he used a teleprompter during q a sessions. Joe bidens Campaign Manager told politico this. The Vice President uses a teleprompter on occasion. You see it when hes giving a speech. But he is also out there every day taking questions from reporters. The last week biden appeared to ask for his teleprompter to be moved up when answering a question about unions. Watch. I know there are 16 million americans saying that they would vote for a union today, and i would like to know, what will your administration do to help them given that chance . Thank you. Lets move it up here. You know harris zach, your reaction . Teleprompters are pretty common usage, harris. In his henderson rally, the present use one. Use it in north carolina, he uses it harris but it acumen acumen days the most we live in the moment. For instance, right now you dont need a teleprompter, do you . You dont know what im going to ask. Ive never used a teleprompter. I dont know how well i do with wanda, to be honest to you. To be sure to Vice President biden, hes done a lot of media interviews in the last few weeks. Hes done a few dozen of them, and then will tell proctors. He beautiful sit down on cnn, helicopters. We can cherry pick, and we dont seem to dissect the president in the exact same way. Harris when youre doing q a for a debate, which comes up a few weeks from today, are you concerned . That the rock n roll nature. You have to think on your feet and go forward. Maybe the host, Chris Wallace might have a questions own frond there he doesnt want to forget. The Chris Wallace would need one. Hes a rock star, im glad he was suggested to moderate. Harris will joe biden be a rock star that not . Hes the nominee, there were tons of debates with hotel bumpers and he won. You have to keep in mind theres a history they are without having any issues during debat debates. Im looking forward to the debates, i think and honestly people have made up their mind in this race. We will see where it goes. It will be determined based in the next couple weeks. Harris several states already beginning the voting process, as well. Malin, absentee, so on and so forth. Zach fran, thank you for being on the program. Thank you, harris. I appreciate it. Harris Hurricane Sally is hitting the gulf coast, dumping torrential rain on florida and alabama. We see it at the top of the newscast with our correspondent, Charles Watson car wooded to mobile. Why the worst might be yet to come with all that water. Plus, attorney general bill barr going off on mailin voting. His latest warning as the battle grows between republicans and democrats over how the november elections could play out. President trumps former acting attorney general, matt whitaker, joins me next.
