Fair second referendum because the people got it wrong in 2016. Sound familiar . Here in america, the establishment is all in on a new effort to overturn the 2016 president ial vote. Theyre saying President Trump is mentally unfit and must be removed using the 25th amendment which is almost overnight replaced russia as the number one topic of conversation at elite dinner parties. A new book by Michael Wolff proves that the president is crazy. So as a Public Service to you, were here to help separate fact from fiction when it comes to fire and fury. First of all, every supporter of President Trump should understand one thing about this book. The argument that donald trump is mentally unfit is not Michael Wolffs opinion, its the opinion of some of the people closest to the president. I said back in the summer when i first learned what these aides and hangerson were saying to wolff from the president is surrounded by too many, twofaced, selfserving muppets who say one thing in public and another behind the president s back. That is still true today. But the important question is not about the stories in the book or frankly even the president s mental state. Its how any of this affects the real world and your life . Lets go along with the critics for a moment, the ones who are screaming on television that the president might be crazy. Maybe the president is a bit crazy, but forgive me for asking, how exactly did sane work out for america . Who made the rich richer and working people poorer . Who gave dictators the green light to cause mayhem around the world . Who sold out our economy to china . Who invaded iraq . Not crazy trump but supposedly sane obama, bush and clinton. In 2016, americans said, well, if thats what sane gets you, ill take crazy, thank you very much. And by the way, how sane were the establishment president s anyway . Bill clinton had an illicit affair with an intern in the oval office after being accused of Sexual Harassment and even rape before he was elected. George w. Bush constantly had to deny rumors he was a recovering alcoholic. As for obama, all i can tell you is my old boss, former british Prime Minister David Cameron thought obama was one of the most narcissistic, selfabsorbed people hed ever dealt with. Obama never listened to anyone, always thought he was smarter than every expert in the room and treated every meeting as an opportunity to lecture everyone else. This led to real world disasters, like syria and the rise of isis. But the real world doesnt matter to the elites, for them its all about style and tone, not substance and results. Donald trump offends the elites aesthetically, like a piece of art not to their taste. They can afford to do that because they live in a world of booming neighborhoods with delightful hits to eateries and everyone employed in the virtual knowledge of economy. They dont see whats going on in the actual economy. The closed factories, the boarded up shops. Family members on opioids, lowest level of unemployment since the depression. Wages, flat or falling in 40 years. In 2016, working americans put someone in the oval office who did see all that. Whatever his mental state, hes achieved more for americans in one year than predecessors did in 8 or 16, frankly. There is fire and fury in washington and new york and other enclaves of elitism. What matters is pushing forward the proworker populist agenda on infrastructure, trade and the fight against china. Thats the next revolution we need. Please tell me what you think. Follow us on twitter and have your say now lets find out what our panel think with. Me tonight, tomi lahren, author of working class republican and senior fellow at the Public Policy center henry alston, l. A. Times assistant managing editor christina bellatoni, and running against Debbie Wasserman schultz for congress. Tommi, i was fired up there. I got more fired up as i went along. I feel like that about it. Whats your take . Right there with you. Again, like you said, ill take crazy if crazy meaning that the American People are winning, and like you said at dinner table, in the pocketbook, in middleclass america, americans are winning under this president in less than a year winning. So they dont like what he tweets or what happens behind closed doors or the type of person he is. I dont care and i think millions of americans would agree they dont care. They want to win and theyre winning. Steve well, look, tim, im going to turn to you at this point, from the other side of the political fence, but surely you would welcome some of the real things that are happening in the real world, for example. Were seeing wages go up for the first time in many years, good news on unemployment, not as much as wed like. Underneath all this froth, there is really Good Progress for the working class agenda they know that you support . What i worry about are the decisions the administration is making. Unlimited oil drilling. The end of net neutrality, a crackdown on states that have legalized marijuana whether its medical marijuana or recreational, when really we should be respecting federalively and using the states as laboratories of change. I do think its productive to talk about the issues, though, whether the Trump Administration is helps the economy. Are wages rising . Are they rising enough . What can be done to help the working folks more . Thats where the discussion needs to go. Steve well get to that later, on the points you mentioned, look, those are real serious policy issues that the administration is advancing. You may not agree with them, but give a light to the idea this is total chaos with a madman in control doing things. You dont like them but theyre doing real things. Id rather talk about the issues than the personality of the president. [laughter] whats the read for you . Its a good week for books. This is not the first book that has lit d. C. And the chattering class and the establishment youre talking about aflame, getting people excited about all of the inside gossip in the white house, but it is distracting for a the love the big issues that we face, and whatever political side that youre on, which i am not, i think its really important that when youre distracted by name calling and gossip, youre not thinking about what do the person people need . What are issues in Foreign Policy . How are we going to make sure a new tax policy rolls out smoothly and helps the American People . Those are the things you hope the white house can stay focused on and not stay distracted on political gossip whether or not its true. Steve just as a political observer, what do you think is going anywhere tangible this push openly being talked about to invoke the 25th amendment to try and use this argument about Mental Fitness to get rid of the president . Is that going anywhere . Whats interesting, i left d. C. And they would dismiss this. This would never happen, not a real conversation among people who would actually have the power to do Something Like that. When you come to california, which is my home state, ive lived here 2 1 2 year, people dont really like President Trump here. People like to see him steve well get to it later, you have experiences earlier . Not everyone, he has lower approval rating, particularly in los angeles, where there is a diverse community, all kinds of people that didnt vote for them. They ask that question when they meet a political journalist. Will trump be impeached. People figure out how to get rid of him and his entire cabinet. Is it possible nancy pelosi could be the next president. Thats not rooted in reality. People need to stop thinking about those things which will not happen. Thats a house of cards plot line not what will happen in american politics. If you are interested in getting rid of the president and his policies, vote and engage in the democratic process and civics. Steve yeah, henry you worked in governmentsa an adviser. Yeah. Steve this isnt coming from nowhere. This is coming from within the close circle around the president. What do you think of that . The biggest story comes out of this is the president is betrayed for the people who he hired to work for him. Steve bannon was the second most powerful staff person and not denied anything he said that insulted the president s competency and put himself out as somebody who is the power behind the throne. You and i both know if youre a staff person and making news you are disservicing the person you are surveying, im hoping that what donald trump will do is figure out whos loyal to his agenda and keep them and the ones who arent, those are the people that will be leaving the white house. Steve i agree with that. And get people in who are really loyal. Like corey lewandowski, a lot of people dont like him. No doubt he is 100 loyal to donald trump, with him from the beginning. Tomi, what do you make of the bannon angle and that split . Is it irrelevant . Sad there are individuals whether they are in the administration, no longer are or members of the public that would rather see this president fail than see america win. I think its sick and disgusting. What we have here is those out of the administration, they lost their jobs, they fired. They want to be political celebrities. They want to write a book and make money. If they talk about trump, theyre going to get their 15 minutes and make a lot of money. Thats what theyre focused on. Isnt that sad . This president threw that away to put them first . They need to look in the mirror, they are the traitors of this country, not President Trump. Steve i think a lot of people will strongly agree with that. There is discussion as to whether steve bannon and he put out an apology for a very small part of what he said in the book. Not the whole thing, but he can retain the influence he claimed with the president s base, and i think you certainly are someone who they look to for support of the president s agenda. Do you think that bannons blown it with the base can, he work his way back in . I certainly think he has, because he said explosive things, he said things that are not even really relevant to trump as a leader. Some of it is attacks, and beyond that, i am someone who is a supporter of the president , but not a supporter of donald trump, im supportive of what donald trump stands for which is america first. He needs to surround himself with people who are not just loyal to him but the agenda. They may hate him as a person and that is okay, what hes trying to do for this country, that is important. If bannon doesnt understand that, dont let the door hit you on the way out. Steve last word to you on this, i think the elements of the agenda that you and i and others on lets call it the populist, Bernie Sanders wing of the democratic party, it seems to me they are more interested in policy than this kind of soap opera. Its because the base, the progressive base of the policy sees policy as the way to win the hearts and minds of the American People again. When we get into this side issues that deal with the gossip inside the beltway, i think a lot of americans get turned off. They want to know how is the democratic party, how is the government going to help them meet their own needs. This has been a trying time for a lot of americans. Steve yeah. A trickledown recovery, a topheavy recovery, and folks want politicians who are going to speak to their needs and not just gossip. Steve we can all agree on that. Thats what were talking about are the issues. On swamp watch. Oil companies have exploited the federal government. How the unlimited funding budget is funding the d. C. Swamp. Next, immigration in the news, President Trump fighting for border walls while i. C. E. Chief says sanctuary city politicians should be locked up for barring feds arrested for convicting criminals. Is new york city mayor de blasio headed to jail . Stick around. I take pictures of sunrises, but with my back pain i couldnt sleep and get up in time. Then i found aleve pm. Aleve pm is the only one to combine a safe sleep aid plus the 12 hour pain relieving strength of aleve. Im back. Aleve pm for a better am. Mayhem . Whatim a lightning rod. Ere . Waiting to protect your home from a lightning strike. Its my new years resolution. Whatever. Can you get my plane . Yeah, i dont do planes. I just do lightning. Running a Small Business is demanding. And thats why Small Business owners need more. Like internet thats up to the challenge. The gigspeed network from comcast business gives you more. With speeds up to 20 times faster than the average. That means powering more devices, more video conferencing, and more downloads in seconds, not minutes. Get fast internet and add phone and tv for only 34. 90 more per month. Comcast is building americas largest gigspeed network to give Small Businesses more. Call 18005016000 today. Steve welcome back to the next revolution. The border wall is back in the news with President Trump requests funding as part of a budget deal that would include relief to dreamers. Take a listen. We want the wall, the wall is going to happen or were not going to have daca. We want to get rid of chain migration and the lottery system. We want daca to happen, i think i can speak for everybody. We all want daca to happen but want Great Security for our country. Steve will the president get his wall built or alienate his base by pushing for dreamer. Tim, i want to start with the democrat position here, theyve been aggressive in saying theres no way youre going to get the money for the wall. It seems to me, when you look at that position, the democrats dont really care about the dreamers at all. Happy to dump on the dreamers to block President Trumps wall . I cant answer for all democrats, i will say its important we deal with daca, deal with the dreamers. Talking about more than 800,000 people. Steve i dont want to interrupt i just did. The reason is, because i think that there really is consensus around. That the issue is how do you do it. And the thing i just dont understand is why the democrats dont just say, fine, well do the dreamers and get the wall. Why are they so adamant about blocking the wall . Whats wrong with it . I can only speculate why that might be, and again, im sorry, i dont mean to be dodging, it but important we get daca, that we legalize the dreamers, but beyond that, we have to have the conversation in this country what it means to be american and how to integrate new people into this country and how to integrate immigrants into this country. Thats not been part of this conversation. When you look back a generation. My father was a dreamer. Came here as a 2yearold on a boat and he served in world war ii, beneficiary of the g. I. Bill. National service and the benefits that came with it tied to National Service through the g. I. Bill, it helped integrate an awful lot of immigrants. Steve i agree with that, tim, every time we talk about immigration, im an immigrant to this country, my family were immigrants from hungary. Im proimmigration, we need to do the immigration, thats an important part but controlling immigration is important, particularly on the economic agenda of helping American Workers. Whats been happening the last 30 or 40 years, people low skilled are hit by a double whammy of competition, compete with foreigners in the backyards because of migration. If you care about the less skilled in the developed world, you have to deal with both simultaneously. Putting reasonable limits like australia, new zealand and canada has and home country is trying to fight with brexit. If you dont deal with that, you keep driving down wages and Job Opportunities for less skilled people born in this country and wonder why the fellow citizens dont care about them. Steve very well put, i can have my opinion, and i agree. Briefly on the political argument, though, republicans have control of congress and republican president in george w. Bush and did not pass a border wall. This is not an easy argument that democrats are standing in the way. This is a complicated position for people. People opposed to the wall that melted down the congressional homeland when republicans were fully in charge. Steve want to get to tomi on another aspect. The highprofile element of the 2016 president ial election. What did it do to peoples faith in politics . If something as big as that doesnt get done. You have been talking about another aspect which is sanctuary cities and california, the sanctuary state, where are we on all of that . Both of elements are emotional blackmail by the left. As you mentioned, they dont care about the dreamers, they dont care about legal immigrants, they dont care about americans, they care about the emotional blackmail and feel good saying we support Illegal Immigrants week support the American Dream. I support the American Dream too but support border integrity and safety and security for americans and legal immigrants that were sent to our country, not to come the right way. Beyond that, can you tell im fired up, its my number one, steve. I spent the last three days in venice beach as well as west hollywood, california, arguably two of the most liberal places in this state. Individuals i spoke to in speaking with them a lot of them were for a sanctuary city or a sanctuary state. Until i explained what it was, and then all of a sudden their tunes changed and they thought youre right, its not fair to legal immigrants, some that cut in front of them that didnt have to wait the time, pay the money, they are getting amnesty blanket covering over them. They didnt like it. But its because the emotional black mail of the left told them they should support it. Until you educate them and californians will change. I also have to tell you this in closing, there are far more conservatives in california than you would ever know by looking at twitter, by watching the golden globes, watching the mainstream networks, there are conserv
