And, i am wondering if you do secure the republican nomination, how youre going to be able to persuade independents, moderate republicans, even moderate democrats to vote for you with that kind of conservative record. Well, ill tell you, bill. You look at the past several elections and republicans keep nominating moderate republicans and getting clobbered in the general election. We saw that with bob dole and john mccain and mitt romney. It doesnt work. Millions of conservatives stay home. I believe the way we win is i think 2016 will be like 1980. That were going to win by painting in bold colors not pale pastels and energizing millions of conservatives that stayed home and millions of reagan democrats. You know, at almost every event i have people saying im a democrat, ive been a democrat my whole life. Im with you now. The core of our base are the reagan democrats, the working class, union members. The Truck Drivers and the mechanics and the Steel Workers and the working men and women who have gotten hammered over the last seven years over the obama, clinton economy and looking for someone to stand with the working men and women in this country. That is what ive done every day in public office. You, to your credit in some peoples eyes dont waiver. Youre not a big compromiser.
