All the women that we spoke to had heard her speak against donald trump yesterday. Theyre fired up. There have been a lots of jokes on his behalf echoing some of the themes from the speech yesterday, jokes about there is not a reality show and jibes about how he is the apprentice and she is the next commander in chief. I feel like the base that i spoke to this morning, very fired up. A lot of women have brought their young daughters here to see her speak. In fact, i talked to one mother who left a oneweek old baby at home so she could bring her 5yearold daughter here to see hillary. Wow. So lot of people were talking about the fact that they thought her speech at least reviews were that it was really good except for the fact that it wasnt really a lot about her foreign policies. It was more jabs at mr. Trump. Im assuming the crowd there liked it. Well, they liked it a lot. And really the way to view yesterdays speech, it was her turn toward the general election. Shes been wanting to do that basically since memorial day. Shes been trying to turn the discussion to donald trump, to Trump University. Weve received an onslaught of emails from the Campaign Today about Trump University and other issues that she raised yesterday in terms of trump being a danger but what really has the campaign concerned is that Hillary Clinton is still not in the clear yesterday. Bernie sanders, she is neck and neck here in the polls here in california where there are more than 500 delegates at stake voting on tuesday. The latest l. A. Times poll shows her just 1 ahead of Bernie Sanders in terms of democratic voters. The spread is much larger if you look at likely voters. L. A. Times says that she would win by about 10 . But certainly nothing that the Clinton Campaign can rest their laurels on today. But again, we hear repeated the repeated theme is, attacks on donald trump. Theyd like to put Bernie Sanders and the california primary behind her. The actress mary steenbergen. The war of words between trump and clinton ramping up on social media as well and on the campaign trail. Former secretary of state saying the presumptive gop nominees temperament could lead us to war if he steps foot in the oval office. Do we want him making those calls . Someone thinskinned and quick to anger, who lashes out at the smallest criticism. Do we want his finger anywhere near the button . No the chair of the states Trump Campaign is here to respond to that today. Jeff, great to have you back on the real story. So Hillary Clinton says no way that this country should have trump anywhere near the button for the nukes. And your response is what . Well, it is just politics. Thats her opponent or her presumed opponent. We dont even know if she is going to be the democratic nominee, quite frankly. That you whats politicians do. Shes trying to deflect from her own horrific record as secretary of state. Now shes using the term dangero dangerous, loose cannon, Everything Else she can try to do to take away from the fact that everybody else trusts donald trump more than her to handle these issues. The most recent polls, yes, they trust trump more but they trust her more with Nuclear Information and Foreign Policy. I want you to speak a little bit though about trumps temperament. Heres what he said about the new mexico governor, susanna martinez, last week. Then ill share with you what he just said the other day. Heres the first one. We have to get your governor to get going. Shes got to do a better job. Okay . Your governor has got to do a better job. Shes not doing the job. Hey maybe ill run for governor of new mexico ill get this place going. Shes not doing the job. We got to get her moving. Come on. Lets go, governor. So he criticized her last week, probably because she didnt show up to his rally there. Now hes saying that he has always liked her. So i guess the question, jeff, is which one is it . Because it is really, really important for republicans to try and get the hispanic vote, is it not . Oh, i think its something that were going to absolutely try to do. But criticizing her Job Performance, i can criticize, say my wife and how she paints a room a color i dont like, doesnt mean i dont love my wife very much. Criticizing her Job Performance doesnt mean he doesnt like her. She is a likable character. Wed all love to have her endorsement. But at the same time her job record could be better. So i think there is a you can absolutely talk about both things and theyre not mutually exclusive. There was a very interesting analysis about how trump could actually win this election. We all know that he has been doing very well with male white voters, especially. So what this article says is that actually, there are more of those voters where he could actually come up with more voters than mitt romney had in that same category, and possibly beat Hillary Clinton. But the problem is that those voters tend to be in states that usually always go blue. Always go democrat. What other strategy do you think trump can implore to try to beat Hillary Clinton . Well, thats where jobs, jobs, jobs, and better trade deals, and the issues that donald trump talks about a lot are resonating very, very well. Yes, typically the rust belt states, the manufacturing states, have gone democrat. That is changing big time under donald trump. Because they realize now that the democrat policies are what has sent their jobs overseas. Donald trump represents the only chance those states have of bringing jobs back to america and back to those states. He is doing very well in the rust belt states, typically democrat areas. It is one of the reasons he does have millions more votes than any republican primary candidate in history. And why he will do very well. He will turn typically blue states red and right there in the rust belt. But typically the manufacturing states where jobs will come back, thats the epicenter of where you will see that. Its interesting because those are a lot of the voters Hillary Clinton had last time around in 2008. But this he now seem to be heading towards trump, at least for now. Before i let you go, lets talk about immigration. You are from arizona. Donald trump has said he will build the wall and mexico will pay for it. And yet in this recent Quinnipiac National poll Hillary Clinton polling better on immigration than donald trump. Why . I have no idea. But because donald trump is, by far, the strongest. Ab and in previous polls hes done a lot better on immigration, the economy and jobs and all those key issues. So i dont think that that poll i think that, quite frankly, could be an outlier. But donald trump owns the immigration issue. And hes talked about it more than anybody else. Hes the first one. Hes got us talking about things that should be talked about from building the wall to enforcing our immigration policies to sanctuary cities and all these things that need to be back on the national agenda, hes got us there and hes, by far where the strongest candidate with getting to fix our broken immigration system. So i dont know how that poll has that number but i think it should rez nad very well with anyone who wants our immigration policies in force that donald trump is the better candidate. Theyre throwing every resource they can at it. Theyre going tat by boat, air and, of course, canine units all working to find the four who are still missing. Five lost their lives and have already been recovered. The soldiers all part of the 1st Cavalry Division at ft. Hood when their two and a half ton army vehicle overturned yesterday by trying to get through a low water crossing. Listen. The soldiers were trained on the range with convoy operations. This is normal training, small unit training. There were 12 soldiers in that truck and they were training on how to operate it. Reporter this is pretty amazing. Trump is saying we have 50 trillion worth of coal and oil and gas resources. We ought to use those. We can create millions of jobs. If you look at the jobs report today, one thing that was so depressing, middle class jobs disappeared. We lost manufacturing jobs, we lost mining jobs, we lost construction jobs, we lost agricultural jobs. Those are the jobs that come back if you have a proamerica energy policy. Take a look at some of the stats and figures. President obama also gave a speech yesterday touting the success of the economy. Edp was negative 5. 4 when he took office. Now it is at. 8 . If you look at income and wages, apparently that has gone up about 100. But thats not a lot. For sure. Now those are big problems. In this sevenyear recovery, yeah, it is no question about it, when barack obama entered office we had the housing crisis. We had a huge recession. Usually you have a pretty robust economy coming out of a recession. For seven years weve grown at less than 2 growth. I contrast that when Ronald Reagan came in, cut taxes, we had close to 4 growth. We would have 3 million more gdp today if we had the kind of growth under obama that we had under Ronald Reagan. You have another big meeting next friday. With the leadership council. You mentioned that obama gave this speech in elkhart, indiana. You look back at that two days later and say what country was he talking about . He was saying everything is so wonderful. You look at this jobs report today, miserable. The worst report weve had in three years. He got a bit of a luck streak because that jobs report came out after the speech. Time for my take. It is the economy, stupid. How many times have we heard that . But it never gets old because it is so true, especially when talking about president ial elections. Through all the ups and downs, one thing that stayed pretty constant is the way in which the economy and jobs factor in to who people ultimately decide to vote for. Lets look at more facts. Economy added that paltry 38,000 new jobs in may. According to one economist, Home Ownership is at a 48year low. Millions of College Graduates are in low paying jobs and family incomes are down 1,600 on president obamas watch. How does that affect trump and Hillary Clinton . I say a lot. Every poll ive seen so far between the two about best dle or create jobs, has handily gone to trump. In a new gallup poll, trump leads clinton 53 47 . This week, again trump over clinton, 62 41 . When people walk into the voting booth time and time again they vote with their pocketbooks. Will it be the same this year . Lets talk now about that tragic, tragic accident. Two of them. Two military jets go down on the same day, one of the crashes was deadly. Thunderbird pilot forced to eject following a flyover formation in colorado. He survived. But a blue angels pilot was killed when his jet crashed during practice for an air show in tennessee. What were hearing is that both pilots made selfless acts of heroism. Reporter thats right, gretchen, because both pilots were able to keep their fighter jets that were in trouble safely away from people on the ground. Oh, no god bless it no no reporter these are the first moments after the fighter jet crashed while the elite military Performance Team practiced. The pilot was just 32 years old. Breaking news from the fox news deck. Its good news out of colorado. About ten military personnel who were stranded overnight while trying to climb longs peak more than 14,250 feet tall. Well, it is believed this is the group. They have finally reached the summit. They were not supposed to overnight on that mountain trail. But they had a little trouble. Some of the members making it to the top. This is a group apparently out of ft. Carson, colorado. About 100 miles to the south in Colorado Springs. This is the very peak of longs pae peak. If the camera pulls back, you will see why rescue being them to this point has been difficult. It is incredibly jagged until you get to the top. Ive climbed that mountain myself. I can tell you the place they are is the one place where they might be able to get a helicopter rescue. However, that altitude, a lot of helicopters dont work that well, though the army certainly has choppers that can pull them off of there if need be. Thats the wide shot of longs peak in Rocky Mountain National Park where ten members of a military party from ft. Carson probably all army were involved in a climbing Training Exercise overnight, got stranded on the peak, and it now looks like rescue is about to commence.
