Jenna Lincoln Police are investigating an alleged rape at the home of husker quarterback Tommy Armstrong jr. A 20 year old woman claims the sexual assult happened sunday morning. She says she does know the suspect, who officals have not identified. As of this morning, no arrests have been made in the case. The Nebraska Athletics department is aware of the allegation and is cooperating with law enforcement. Tim no one was seriously injured in an Apartment Fire in south sioux this afternoon. That happened on west 27th street after a grease fire broke out in one of the units kitchens. The person at home put water on the fire, which only made it worse. The man did escape with just minor burns. Unfortunately he was cooking with grease, so he tried to throw water on it which is not good cause it just turns into a column of fire at that point. Marke d the last portion of the highway 20 expansion project. Today. The iowa dot announced that. The 40 mile stretch from moville to early. Is set to be completed by the end of 2018. Governor branstad says he is excited to finally see an end date for the project. Its going to help with Economic Development in sioux city, fort dodge, and all of northwest iowa so its been a longtime coming and im really proud that its going to be completed while im governor in 2018, said branstad members of the iowa dot. And us Highway Association were on hand for the event. And lieutenat on hand for the event. And lieutenat governor. Kim reynolds. Senators rick bertrand. And bill andersen. Were honored with awards for their role in helping to pass a 10 cent gas increase. That Officials Say was vital to the completion of the project. We have worked for the last five years to try to find a way to see this road completed and highway 20 now, on the fast track, on the road to completion in 2018 i think thats tremendous, its excitingsaid bill anderson, 286 million dollars. Tim iowa Governer Terry Branstad gave his backing to an Ongoing Court battle against the epa and the Us Army Corps of engineers for their recent waters of the us or wotus rule. Gov. The lawsuit fights what branstad is calling federal overreach when it comes to controlling and improving the quality of bodies of water.
