Alice is diagnosed with autism, a high functioning type of autism, but she has a low functioning intellect. So she understands some right and wrong, understands some directional type things but again shes not functioning at a 14 yearold level. Reporter investigators say it is not uncommon for alice to be allowed to walk her dog alone , but unusual for her not to return home. This is a regular routine for alice. Her mom will very often drop she walk through the dog park up to her home a few blocks east of the dog park. Reporter again alice said she just got disoriented when looking for her dog. Shes told police she slept in the grass before completing that near 10mile journey all the way to superior where she was found. Police tell us she was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
