It is entirely possible 13 days from today that control of the senate will come down to the state of colorado. Reporter republicans chances of winning the presidency shrinking, their focus has turned to maintaining control of the u. S. Senate. I want to do everything i president whoever that president may be. Reporter ted cruz campaigned in loveland for Republican Senate candidate Donald Darryl Glenn who is trailing Michael Bennett by double digits. The election comes down to turnout and glenn has the grassroots behind him. Cruz one of several high profile surrogates in colorado. The wife of clintons running mate tim kaine in wheat ridge today. While trumps running mate mike pence is in the springs tonight. And eric trump will be here tomorrow. Co clinton leading by two points. But florida may be the most coveted swing state. Clinton campaigned there today as pulls in that state titan as well. Florida can make the difference. And if people get out and vote, we will have a victory on november the eighth. I spoke with Trump Supporters who stood in line for mike pence four hours. All of them to a man unfazed by the weeks of negative publicity to the campaign. More than 166,000 democrats have returned ballots followed by republicans and then independents. So far more than 416,000 ballots have been returned in all but again that is a small fraction of the total ballots that have been mailed out. It happened in a backyard pond at a house on west louisiana yesterday afternoon. Andrea flores in that neighborhood for us tonight, investigators still trying to figure out how this happened. Of course it will be a few weeks before we get those results but we do know that the young girl was staying with her grandparents when the unfortunate accident unfolded. Its a dark day. Reporter this neighborhood is still in shock after learning a one and a halfyear old girl drowned tuesday afternoon. Neighbors tell us the girl was out front with her grandfather likely wandered to the neighbors backyard and into this pond. The worst that could possibly have happened. Reporter neighbors saw her fall in and pulled her from the pond but it was too late. A steady stream of visitors were seen stopping by the grandparents home wednesday afternoon. A father of two lives across the street and knows how quickly kids can move. Fast. Fast. Fast. Faster than you can ever imagine. Its nightmare. Reporter detectives are working to figure out how long the young girl was in the water before she was found. The Jefferson County das office was in the neighborhood earlier today to investigate the circumstances surrounding this case. The judge throws out a second lawsuit involving the a 13yearold boy when he disappeared from his fathers home in Southwestern Colorado four years ago, his remains were found months later. The boys parents continued to squabble. Now a judge has dismissed the lawsuit, his father mark filed against his mother. Elaine hall. Redwine accused hall of intentionally inflicting Emotional Distress saying the dad was responsible for dillons death. Last year a judge dismissed halls lawsuit making similar allegations. Also accused in a crime spree that included two carjackings and random shootings. 200 people have been summoned for jury selection in what is expected to be a long trial that is expected to last two days with the rest of the trial plan for six weeks. Reporter volunteers mounted up 24 hours after the crash setting out to recapture nearly 20 of the original 80 cattle on board the big rig when it flipped tuesday morning. Reporter answering the calls for help as cattle roamed through town and dangerously close to interstate traffic. Terrain is rough. She called us after receiving two ballots in the mail. Want to her i want someone to take this very seriously. Reporter she has no idea how she was registered twice. Several voters have told us about receiving two ballots. Alton dillard with denver elections explains haley did receive a second replacement change to her registration. She was recognized with a prestigious award for her work in the classroom. But lets talk about the warm temperatures. Its going to be toasty. It is. Take a look at the eastern plains. 70s and 80s. Mid80s here up in the mountains, mostly 60s and out west temperatures also in the 70s. Here is your denver forecast. Tonight clear skies. Temperatures in the mid40s. Then for tomorrow, mostly sunny skies, remember the high is 61. 79 and 80 degrees. And yeah, could be a record high for tomorrow or at least tie it, do it again on friday with 81.
