Agribusiness report, im david geiger. Cattle futures were added to a system that caps how many orders traders can send. In relation to the number of trades executed. The cme groups made these changes in time for futures trading yesterday to curb volatility. The move was a response to a National Cattlemens Beef Association meeting last week. Where chairman terry duffy heard complaints. I talked to market analyst jamey kohake with paragon investments. He says it started a little over a year ago where limit moves started up a volatile cattle market. Wrecking Balance Sheets because of robot trading. And thats what everyones so disgusted over. Was people losing the generation of wealth over robots in new york and or chicago. Push these markets over based on no fundamentals at all. So theyre talking about putting Circuit Breakers in to limit that. So we dont have these big extreme moves. There was also talk to over how do we link these fundamentals. But the Us Meat Export Federation predicts china will open the market fully by the middle of the year. In 2006 china lifted the ban on some boneless products. And from 2010 to 2015. Imports increased ten times what it was. China is already the biggest us ag export customer. While increasing australian imports by the same amount. On the flip side. If the japan had a similar agreement with the us. The usda says it would gain a hundred 30 Million Dollars in demand. Japans Domestic Production only supplies 40 percent of its beef demand. The grains are getting a little bit of a rally. Jamey kohake explains. Im very surprised, you look at the stock markets we are down hard. All of that negativity, though, not spilling over into the ag sector. Corn a penny higher right nearby the resistance. Beans as well. Pushed through it too this morning. What were getting is large funds, large speculators are rolling out of their short futures positions and buying puts and selling puts instead. And right now its just funds want to limit risk, specs want to limit risk and getting on the futures and rolling onto option strategies. We opened up higher in the cattle, didnt look too bad early on. Were kind of fizzling out right now. Its light volume, getting some weakness from the outside markets with the equities i dont think were going to see any cash being reported again until late friday afternoon. April contracts, playing around with the 200 Day Moving Average which is very pivotal for a lot of fund traders. See if well close before that and see more long liquidation the market is trending toward an overbought scenario. Weve been really on this riproaring rally roughly 10 dollars.
