Following the School Shooting in South Carolina, many schools active shooter plans are under scrutiny. Urbandale superintenden t steve bass says their philosophy is to make sure all adults know what to do in an active shooter situation. But security expert tom conley says Running Drills with everyone, including students, is are prepared for the worst. In urbandale, students are taught to go to the nearest classroom if the school is under a lockdown. Teachers are taught more specifics.
