Theyre planning to make three major changes to an ordinance theyre discussing at tonights council meeting. First the city wants to ban television and computer monitors from going into the keep up to 360 tons of waste of the landfill per year. They also want to offer curbside recycling of food waste. Finally the city wants to require all landlords at multifamily apartment complexes to offer recycling programs. We are going to be able to add recycling to over 10000 households in the city of iowa city. Multifamily units are finally going to get recycling, were looking to divert over 17 hundred tons from the landfill into recycling about this change. Rockne cole says he does expect the ordinance to pass with little discussion. Facebook is expanding the size of its data center in altoona to help people access their old photos a little bit quicker.
