And also the rushing touchdown big one to go to overtime as well so at least they were better than him get rolling a little bit more he was he was good in those 1st 2 games but these are the kind of numbers I think we're more used to well and I think there's truth in that but you played that game where you know teams have decided they were going to bracket livest should all and I think they've done that try to take away the Air Force decided they were going to go in and man love it should all which they did and he burned them out other guys were making plays and so if Levis is going to be in single man coverage and putting some numbers up somebody else has got to do that as well it's kind of that old or that old strategy against Michael Jordan you let him get his 35 and make sure nobody else scores or you try and double havenot somebody else you know that is Robert or Scott for 40 points and so you kind of play that game with Scott about a little bit you know they're going to be games where teams are going to be a lot of attention to him and maybe production is down but he's taking more defensive attention away from j.t. Nixon or Tony Brown or whomever and so you know Air Force shows it's poison and this one worked on them because they gave up numbers to let us use it all but other guys were performing all that well man that maybe the recipe they're like you just said get a pick your poison air force and we're going to we're gonna let him get his and we'll see what we can do the rest of the way how is Mel Takhar you know this is the 1st it's a bunch of firsts this week talking to Coach about a loss with this team he didn't nobody wants to play Air Force as we talked about for many many reasons which which I'm with you I don't see why people would say How do you lose their force their tough team no matter what the house coach handling this one going forward you know this is the 1st test you're right I mean I was waiting to see what happens when adversity strikes you know how do you approach it and you know the best thing I can say about Mel is his approach hasn't changed at all his demeanor hasn't changed certainly there was some concern after the ball game and you know you can't give guys a little hey fellows this is where we broke down but it's been very deuce dislike and matter of fact here's what the issues are I still think you're a good football team let's make the corrections and move. A lot and so his demeanor has been unchanged this way that I was waiting to see what happens because you know there are big coaches I've dealt with over the course of time that weren't necessarily like that they were little bit up or down I didn't expect that from him but what I've seen over the course of the time bunch and had he lived up to kind of what I thought he might it's been a very measured even keeled matter of fact let's get down to business to take care of the problems let's fix the issues that we're dealing with and move on and he always got the 24 hour rule that we've heard so much about already win lose or draw 24 hours later the page go back to Bob Seger the pages been turned every move on to now in this case Arizona state so he hasn't changed his m.o. Team and I say interesting because watching this game last week against Michigan that's no easy task to win but then they go up against a Big Sky team a couple of weeks ago and they win that game but it wasn't that easy so I'll be curious to see how this one breaks down well a little as well as you know I'm sort of the going to come to dissect the numbers for Arizona State you know they if you look at the box score against Michigan State's party dominated that game from a yardage standpoint there were many turnovers I think you have m.s. You had one turnover Arizona State did not have any so they didn't dominate that game that if we find out of course the pack will came back and so they made a mistake late that ballgame of the field goal that that should not accounted for Arizona State and so there's but you know they got the wit no matter what they did get the win but here's the thing I look at them a little bit I say Daniels our quarterback is outstanding I think he's a star in the making a quarterback they have got a. Very inexperienced officer line that's why you know Benjamin's only average about 6065 yards a game so far this season and he's got to kill the buffaloes the faster course and that the fence is unique it's kind of a 33 stacked type of thing that they employ they they use like 5 of the things to back 3 state these they walk one of them up kind of in that gray area between the secondary and the linebacking corps so the defense has been very stingy I think this season so far for Arizona State So there are a lot of things about this game I think are kind of interesting going into it yeah no question and we get set to look at this Pac 12 overall which you say the word interesting packed Well it's been up and down so far this season so I know these teams are ready to get at each other. Yeah and you know I don't think the fact I was going to brag about having 16 is like it is or the 5 that are ranked at this point in time and you know this time of the year there's a coach that I had a relationship over the years he always says nobody should put out a ranking until Week 5 by week 5 you know what you are 5 weeks into a college football season your statistics are what they are and the coach Bill Parcells you are what your record says you are but that point so obvious so you know early on these early rankings necessarily don't mean a whole lot less you're probably Alabama or Clemson are so like that but outside of that specially the bottom half of the top 25 no one's really sure what all these teams are about at this point but you know we'll find out this big a number 4 so we're getting close to figuring out what what these teams are to think this is going to be a real good tell tale game for the buffaloes and sometimes we get and I love that too because I mean we talk about it whether it's the n.f.l. Or college football or heck even even the high school side of it we always say you know you know you're not really at your best until you're 56 games and you want to be in November form so to speak so I'm with you man I can I The ranking side of it it's it's meaningful I suppose when you look at the number next to them but I don't put a lot of clout into it until we're in that mid season mark almost Yet without question about it when you've got a young football team as well with which both of these this weekend are a bit of both young ones too and one once we're going to go you've got the couple nice ones for Colorado you get Julie one very nice win for Arizona State the others you know it was Ok so we don't know what either the seeds are about but I don't want to take the what I like I said Daniels is good off its allies a question mark and I think fans could be perplexing for Stephen months as he's going to have to really have a good I think short mental game this week against some of the holes how does defense go into it we've seen some really great moments from Colorado's defense and you said you look at a quarterback and Jane Daniels who looks really good the rest of that off and Scana spotty at times when you go through are you licking your chops is a bus a bus defense are you thinking are we going to we've got to be careful here because you know one of these guys could go on. Often And again Jane Daniels is very good at controlling that office Yeah without question I don't think of us do you think as many big plays in cash places as a box of giving up I don't think you're you're living or you're looking your chops and although I think this defect is still looking for answers that the one thing we've figured out so far is the boss could make some big plays I mean how about those plus 8 in the turnover ratio right now so that the prince has made a point make no mistake about that but the issue has been in between those big players they've given up too many big places so you know whether it's an 80 plus yard touchdown or air force the other they're the long run but the week before I mean they've got to stop and start shortening up and lessen the number of big plays if you have a top of the fence out football this season so that's that's probably I think Passion number one for Mel Tucker the staff is a kind of clean that up as the season goes along here and I know Jane Daniels pretty careful with the football 3 touchdowns no interceptions at this point to see him so that will be interesting to see if this bus team can try to force some of those big turnovers Mark always appreciate to my friend to give us some details for our coverage coming up this weekend as the buffs are packed well playing the well it's it's a late one you know I thank goodness because it could be either degree day that are happening or forgive thinks otherwise so it's an 8 o'clock ballgame Gateshead his exact kickoff we're going to get there at 6 o'clock at a gallop a ball that workin in Denver that's afraid of 937 on the up and out 76 the other going on the island so as proposed by the ballgame this week than a I'm going to tell composer with me this weekend I was taking on the Arizona and so can't remember. Is kind of Ok but I like him he starts 3 No they beat can't state 30 to 7 they beat Sacramento State All right the team that beat you and see 50 to nothing last week this is Colfax This is why I said you can see losers that I didn't predict 15 to nothing but I think Sacramento state's a good football team there are really good football team they were a possession away from making that maybe even pulling ahead in their game against Arizona State they lose 1000 to 7 but this is a Pac 12 team if b.s. Versus a f.c.s. Big Sky Team and the only 11000 to 7 so that means great things for 2nd a state I was scratching my head about Arizona State but then they go up against Michigan State who I believe the top 20 team at that point and they win $10.00 to $7.00 but as Mark said there was controversy with that field goal kick however you allow Michigan State 7 points so which is it is this an Arizona State team that struggles again I'm not trying to take things away from f.c.s. You guys are realists whole again as you know you know you know what your what kind of football we're talking about here but that still should make you go how good of football team is this a maybe Sacramento State just that damn good I mean they did beat u.n.c. 50 to nothing Washington State couldn't even you know hold a keep the bears from scoring points so you do wonder how good maybe sacrament a state can be that's why we love the season because it tells a story every single week and I tend to agree with Mark on that I like the rankings because. I'm a guy that doesn't like to search for the good games you know I'll just go through and are who is ranked here I like my local teams I like Pac 12 Mountain West Conference matchups I like watching that certain teams for certain players I follow but it you know it's been a long day I just want to go I ranked teams are going here so I like that I like for you to tell me who to watch why n.f.l. Network was just terrifying they were not n.f.l. Network but Sunday take a. I had it for a while Colfax and you know you would think as a sports fan why wouldn't you want that I get too overwhelmed and I can found myself recall button going back and forth to different games and I couldn't focus on one game and he does it so I like it on Sunday where they give me an early game they give me an afternoon game they give me a sudden I game same way with college football so I do like the rankings for that sense but we don't really get a real feel for how to how good these teams are until midway through the season that being said the buffs have an opportunity to knock off another ranked football team Nebraska I think the start of the season $24.00 and then they drop to $25.00 after South Alabama they say they struggled there so they dropped him in the buff Speedo knocked him out of that you have a chance to do the same thing and now we're starting to talk about you and then listen to this folks if Air Force goes and beats or performs well against Boise State because Boise State is top 20 in West conference representing the Mountain West. That's a big big thing that's a huge hit so I don't know it's at Boise State on the blue field so we'll see but that's a game to circle that's a game to pay attention to 20 minutes after the hour a lot to get to I'm a switch gears talk a bit about Colorado state where do they go from here these vibrating poll question of the day now that call until it's official he's officially out for the season torn a.c.l.
