We will be elevating it to the 100 year elevation plus will be a new structure. It will be approximately 100 feet longer than the current one. Clow says the bottom structure of the bridge will be at 200 year Flood Elevation<\/a> plus one foot. She says the bridge is being designed so it could maintain traffic even for a 500 year flood. If we had 2008 again, the current plan for dubuque street would flood for four or five daysin 2008, the section of dubuque closed for a montha and there have been smaller floods in years since where closures could have been prevented. Planners hope to begin construction on the 52 Million Dollar<\/a> project in mid april or mayclow says there has been concern from nearby residents about impact to trees and property, though they wouldnt speak on camera.
