Halloween is officially tomorrow, but here in University Heights, trick or treatingngwill be tarting at six o clock because of the Football Game tomorrow. Tomorrow. University Heights Police say there is a very active tailgating scene in the city since it is so close to Kinnick Stadium. Police say they dont wawa to mix that with young trick or treaters. Iowa city officials are reminding trick or treaters to be extra careful. Thousands of fans will leave kinnick after the 2 30 game saturday. Trick or treating is also going on in iowa city from dusk until 8 00. University Heights Police say no matter when you go, there are general safety tips you should follow. Ofc. Jovan webb is facing multiple charges from a shooting at the new world lounge two in waterloo in april. April. Police say an sergeant approached webb outside the hitting the sergeant several times. The sergeant dove away from the car and other officers say it appeared he was being dragged by webb. Two officers fired shots at webb as he drove away. Webb has since sued the department saying he was trying to get away from a plainclothes officer because he didnt know him. All of the officers have been c cared of wrongdoing. The Waterloo Police department is mourning the loss of a fellow officer tonight. Officer adam liddle died suddenly yesterday from a quote unknownwnmedical trauma. The three year veteran had worked a shift the day before his death. His day will be reviewed to see if it meets criteria outlined in the hometown heroes act as a line of duty death. Officer liddle leaves behind a wife and ten yearold son. Thousands of prisoners convicted of drug charges are being released starting today. The mass release comes after the us sentencing commissions decision last year to cut the sentences of drug offenders by an average of two years.
