Cbs 2 News Reporter matt hammill spoke with those students today, he joins us live from cedar rapids, matt . Karen some 50 students from area high schools will become lobbiests tomorrow. We caught up with the group from jefferson as they talked to superintendent brad buck this afternoon. The students say this isnt just a budget, its their future and they want to tell lawmakers face to face. We talked with grace morningstar, a jefferson band a show choir member, who says she couldnt just stand by and do nothing. If the funding is cut, were going to see a lot of things that directly impact us such as a lot of extra extra curricular activities and class size. Class sizes really lot of the Extracurricular Activities and classes, class sizes really affect students on an everyday basis. It is really going to change if there is that change in funding. Reporter that is part of an Education Foundation grant so it is not costing the School District any money. Win or loss, dr. Brad buck says it will be a tremendous educational experience for the kids. Lets talk, kevin, about the difference between iowa caucuses, New Hampshire primaries. One thing with know is that they are both very similar and everyone is very cold when they go. The big difference is the religous nature of both of those states. Iowa is known for its evangelical voters. That is a big reason why ted out in New Hampshire, it is much less relimbous. Only three of 10 New Hampshire voters said they were very religous and a gallup poll in 2014 said that New Hampshire is the 49th most relimbous state in the nation. Iowa by comparison is 22nd. That means they value different thems when they go to the polls. Ted cruz has been managing expectations all week when he has been in New Hampshire saying that no state is a must win but understanding that the bible belt comes next. It does. Super tuesday is a lot of southern states. How do you see that playing out. That will be very helpful for someone like ted cruz. You have places like alabama, arkansas, georgia, north dakota, texas and tennessee which are all considered more religious than iowa. Ted cruz did well in iowa vote. He is expected to do well in the bible belt states so to speak. So New Hampshire not very important for someone like ted cruz. Important for the governors, quote, unquote. That would be john kasich especially but also Chris Christie and jeb bush. If they cant show that their viable candidates, their campaigns will be in danger. John kasich is the guy to watch.
