While you were sleeping, multiple fire crews tried to save a burning home on ely street in cedar rapids just after midnight. Our crew on the scene says firefighters worked to tame the flames for more than two hours. The Linn County Sheriffs Office tells cbs 2 news no one was home at the time. Initial reports say the home may have been undergoing renovations. Officials are now working to figure out what started the fire. Well continue to monitor this developing story all morning long. An update this morning authorities have now released the names of two People Killed just outside of decorah. Decorah. It all happened in a Mobile Home Park in freeport. 55yearold craig freilinger and 41yearold sarah szabo were both found dead on sunday evening from gunshot wounds. The Winneshiek CountySheriffs Office says the are not looking for any other suspects, and the public is not in any danger. Developing right now in cedar falls authorities are now piecing together what led up to a double stabbing. Police were called to University Avenue studios apartments just after 4 30 yesterday afternoon. Investigators tell the waterloo Cedar Falls Courier the two victims were stabbed at two different locations at the complex. A suspect is now in custody. Both victims were taken to local treatment. An 18yearold university of iowa student now nowfaces charges for falsely reporting an active shooter on campus. Police arrested harrison tsimourisafter the scare saturday night. Night. Police say he sent a text message to a friend saying there was an active shooter in burge residence hall. The friend then told police. After officers arrived and evacuated the building tsimouris sent the same student another text saying it charged with filing a false report.
