Then less than six hours later donald trump will appear just blocks away. He will hold a rally at the mcgrath amphitheatre at seven tonight. Cbs 2 news has new numbers right now showing just how tight the race is in iowa. University. It shows Republican Donald Trump and democrat Hillary Clinton in a dead heat in the hawkeye state. Thats a huge swing from the same poll a month ago that showed trump with a seven point advantage in iowa. Republican Vice President ial candidate mike pence is okay this morning but the plane carrying him last night still sits in the same spot it ended up after it skidded off the runwaty at new Yorks Laguardia airport. Authoritites say several the runway slowed the plane down enough and couldve saved lives. Pence told reporters hes fine, and no one on the plane suffered any injuries. The apparent target is a candidate vying for a spot on the only democrat and the only openly gay candidate. He woke up thursday morning and found his lawn signs vandalized. Most of the damage was just spray painted signs but there was one sign with a homophobic slur were choosing to blur that out and a bible verse painted on his door. That verse says that gay people should be put to death and chris and his boyfriend are considering that as a death threat. People love our record of community for a nubmer of years from Community Gardens to help establish cedar valley. Pridefest. Pridefest. Pridefest. Schwartz says in the past few weeks hes been getting attacked online by a Facebook Group called cedar valley patriots for christ. The leader of that group told the waterloo Cedar Falls Courier he thinks schwartz vandalized his own home. In a Facebook Post the groups says theyll help pay for the damage but that it looks like a hoax. Schwartzs against the valdalism. Its compeltely wrong and i hope those that did it are found and prosecuted. Its a shame that a few ignorant people can drive a wedge betweent he people and what we stand for. For. In a statement, the re county told cbs 2 news quote it is a crime and the Black Hawk County republicans condemn such actions and sincerely hope that the perpetrators are caught and pun punished. Officials at Iowa State University were forced to remove racist posters from about 20 different spots on campus in ames. Ames.
