Just in time for the holidays. What are we making today . Its thanksgiving. You have to have some Sweet Potatoes. Were going to be making Sweet Potatoes with a bourbon sauce and bacon, too. Lets do it. Thanksgiving is an american holiday. Bourbon is an american spirit. They really belong together. Were going to have four slices of bacon thats chopped. Three pounds of Sweet Potatoes or call them yams if you want to. Then a couple of granny smith apples peeled, cored and also sliced. Your sauce is a quarter cup of maple syrup, couple tablespoons of butter, half a teaspoon of corn starch and good kentucky bourbon. I have some bacon. Im going to brown it up. Im going to take our Sweet Potatoes, our yams and put them into some boiling water. The idea here is to let them par cook for a few minutes. Im going to start by melting our butter. After the butter is melted, go ahead and add our maple syrup. This is where i need to dissolve my cornstarch. Works better when dissolving cornstarch. Dissolve it in the liquid. As soon as you put this in, it will thicken. I can smell the bourbon. Pour your sauce on top and give it a little bit of salt and pepper. Now its time to get this in the oven. Nice and golden. A big interview from George Stephanopoulos. The fallout from the ferguson decision continues. Hundreds of people clogged the streets. New york city here. Second straight night. They are angry over the grand jurys decision not to indict Darren Wilson. Took over busy manhattan roadways including the fdr. They shut down the entrance to the lincoln tunnel. This was in the middle of rush hour traffic. Crowds were smaller in los angeles on the first night but still managed to block several streets. The demonstrations were relatively peaceful but police intervened when they ran on to a major freeway stopping traffic in both directions. A scary scene in minneapolis. A driver plowed into a crowd of protesters as they blocked an intersection. The car dragged several people before coming to a stop. One woman was taken to the hospital but was not seriously injured. Protesters were met with beefed up security. They moved in with tear gas and made several arrests. After monday nights violence that left a dozen buildings burned to the ground, the governor tripled the number of National Guard troops. Darren wilson broke his silence. He spoke exclusively to George Stephanopoulos. Wilson says he had no choice but to shoot brown. And you are absolutely convinced when you look through your heart and your mind that if Michael Brown were white, this would have gone down in exactly the same way . Yes. No question . No question. The brown family came out with a Statement Last night where they said, we are profoundly disappointed that the killer of our child will not face the consequences of his actions. What do you think when you hear that . I think those are grieving parents who are mourning the loss of their son. I dont think theres anything i could say. But again, im sorry that their son lost his life. It wasnt the intention of that day. Its what occurred that day. And theres no nothing you can say thats going to make a parent feel better. It sounds like you dont think you were responsible. I did my job that day. Do you feel any remorse . Everyone feels remorse when a life is lost. Like i told you before, i never wanted to take anybodys life. Thats not the good part of the job. Thats the bad part of the job. So, yes, there is remorse. I guess the only final question i have is, whats the most important thing that people need to believe about Darren Wilson . I just did my job. I did what i was paid to do, and that was my job. I just did my job. Hes had time to reflect about what happened. In that time and reflection, he still seems to have a clear conscience. He said he had no choice but to shoot Michael Brown. Wouldnt do anything differently. And there was no other option that day. A lot of buzz. People are saying could he have shot his arm or leg. People in Law Enforcement will say its extremely difficult when faced with a threat to hit someones arm or leg. Split second choice. If you dont put the threat down, hit the arm or the leg it runs a risk to the people around you. In the split second decision were talking about here, he still says he gave a moment. He took a beat to think, do i legally have the right to shoot this guy . He says he gave a moment to have that thought. Thats incredible to think but there was a lot happening in that moment. But the evidence is out. The interview is out. The stories are out. People will make their own decisions. Michael browns family devastated that officer wilson will not have to stand trial. We saw his mothers emotional reaction to the grand jury decision monday night. Now their attorneys are vowing to push for federal charges against wilson saying the grand jury process was rigged from the start to clear wilson. When i close my eyes and think about him, i smile. I wake up, im sad. This process is broken. The process should be indicted. One brown family lawyer said the prosecutor presented some evidence to discredit the process, including testimony from witnesses who didnt see the shooting.
