In dallas, roads washed out and water as far as the eye can see in kentucky, this parking lot in louisville swallowed. Days of rain here in arkansas have left many roads impassable, dozens of them just like this here in white county. The land around paul rhodes cabin submerged in six feet of water, somehow his belongings spared. Its just nature. You cant fight nature. Reporter these homeowners in little rock not as fortunate. The kitchen now under two feet of water. 20 rivers across the midwest in major flood stage at this hour. The grand river swallowing streets in michigan, as the ohio river spills into downtown cincinnati. This may look like a river, but its actually flooding caused by a levee breach along the Kankakee River in indiana. Officials warning residents to get out. Youre not going to save your home at this point and all youre doing is endangering the lives of the first responders. station. You were telling me theres tornado warnings . Two active warnings in parts of missouri and arkansas and this is going to go well into the night. Typically when you see a line like this it indicates wind damage and thats what were seeing. The tornado watch until 10 00 tonight. You can see the flood warnings in red, and those flood watches extend all the way into pennsylvania. This line of storms as it shifts eastward is going to bring that tornado and Severe Weather threat into places like memphis and nashville during the overnight hours and then look at that heavy rain tomorrow morning in the northeast with a wintery side of this too. Snow, ice possible across interior new england. But also snow tonight across minnesota. Look at that wide swath of heavy rain. The problem is, this is going to continue to bring flooding concerns well into next week. A washout throughout the week. Cindy, thank you so much. Next to the scrutiny and frantic moments when that gunman opened fire on students in parkland, florida. The Broward CountySheriffs Office investigating reports that even police on the scene may have hesitated to take immediate action. This as officials are already looking into why an armed school deputy, scott peterson, is apparently failed to take on the shooter. He has now resigned. Abcs Kenneth Moton with more. Reporter tonight, growing pressure on the Broward CountySheriffs Office. Sheriff scott israel tells abc news his department is now investigating reports that at least three deputies waited instead of rushing into Stoneman Douglas high school during the deadly mass shooting. The allegations reportedly made by officers from a nearby Police Department who were also on the scene. This week the deputy assigned to guard the school, resource officer scott peterson, resigned after the sheriff says he failed to confront the shooter. Devastated, sick to my stomach. There are no words. Reporter the missed opportunities to try to stop the alleged shooter, nikolas cruz, from gunning down 17 students and educators are stacking up. The thing is i lost my mother a couple days ago, so like im dealing with a bunch of things. Reporter that 911 call appears to be the voice of cruz three months before the
shooting. In another call, the woman who had first taken the teen in after his mother died. He has a lot of weapons. He put gun in the head of his brother before so its not the first time, and he did that to his mom. Reporter records show deputies responded to 18 calls related to cruz before the shooting. Abc news also obtained the transcript of the tipster who called the fbi last month. The woman saying cruz was, quote, going to explode, and she was worried about him getting into a school and just shooting the place up. The fbi admitted it fails to follow up on that tip. Tonight in parkland, anger is mounting at the deputy who has already stepped down. He was supposed to protect these kids and he didnt. Instead, my teachers, my friends threw their bodies on kids to protect them. Kenneth moton joins us live now outside that high school. Some students may be returning there tomorrow .
