And it is what congress and millions of americans have been demanding. After releasing just a fourpage summary, late today, Attorney General william barr told congress he will issue a redacted version of the nearly 400page report by midapril, saying everyone will soon read it. President trump claiming all week the report vindicates him, despite not having seen it. He now insists he has nothing to hide, but the Attorney General says there are no plans for the white house to get a first look. When will america see it . Jonathan karl leads us off. Reporter the Attorney General says the world will soon see the Mueller Report. In a letter to congressional leaders, he writes, i share your desire to ensure that congress and the public have the opportunity to read the special counsels report. Everyone will soon be able to read it on their own. I have great confidence in the Attorney General. And if thats what hed like to do, i have nothing to hide. Reporter the Attorney General says the report is nearly 400 pages long and will be released by midapril. There will be redactions. He says he will work with Robert Mueller to black out anything classified or subject to grand jury secrecy and information that, quote, would unduly infringe on the personal privacy and reputational interests of peripheral third parties. But barr does not plan to get the president s signoff, writing, there are no plans to submit the report to the white house for a privilege review. This comes as President Trump is celebrating the principal findings released by barr on sunday. And after three years of lies and smears and slander, the russia hoax is finally dead. Thank you, rob. Tonights other major headline, investigators finding a connection linking the two deadly crashes that grounded boeings fleet of max 8 jets. And were learning what the black boxes revealed about the moment the Ethiopian Airlines flight made its final nosedive. Boeing says its new software fix is ready and waiting for faa approval. Heres david kerley. Reporter for the first time tonight, a direct connection between the two Boeing 737 Max crashes. Both jets dipping and dramatically pulling up, a wild ride as the pilots fought an automated safety system. Two sources telling abc news the preliminary black box data shows an antistall system that misfired in the Lion Air Crash in october was also activated in the Ethiopian Airlines crash three weeks ago. That ethiopian captain, according to published reports, calls out in a panicky voice, break, break. Request back to home. Request vector for landing, before crashing. That antistall system, called mcas, which pushes the nose down aggressively and had been the subject of bulletins and directives. Ethiopian airlines saying the captain had received updated training. Why didnt their training work . They were trained after the lion air accident. Why didnt they go to their training, stop it, and land the aircraft safely . Reporter with the fleet grounded, boeings mcas Software Update is expected to be approved by the faa next week. It will make mcas harder to misfire and easier for pilots to recover. American airlines top 737 pilot tested the software. They put some checks and balances in the system now that will make the system much better. Reporter no concerns whatsoever . None. Any idea when the planes will be back in the air . Reporter at least American Airlines says they have to train up their pilots once there is certification of the software. We turn next to the Junior High School coach under investigation, video showing him forcefully restraining a 14yearold female student. He can be heard threatening to stomp her. Reporter her mother is now speaking up. It just traumatized her. Shes having a hard time. She doesnt feel safe.
