Tonight, that new video and on it, an ominous threat from a team that has struck already. At least one american senator tonight saying its too dangerous to go to sochi. Abcs chief investigative correspondent brian ross on the new Terror Threat tonight. Reporter amid growing concerns about security, the terror group behind the last two suicide attacks in russia, in the city of volgograd, today posted this video online purporting to show the two men responsible. They were shown allegedly building their bombs and then heading to their targets. The men said their group had more attacks planned, a surprise package, they called it, and one especially, they said, for tourists who will come to the olympics. In a separate online statement, the terror group said the volgograd attacks are only the beginning, and said future threats could go as far as to include chemical attacks. The long and the short of it is that i think Vladimir Putin and the russian government will be very lucky if they are able to get through the olympics without an incident. Reporter today, one u. S. Senator said it was too dangerous to attend the olympics in sochi. I would not go. And i dont think i would send my family. Reporter but russian authorities insist they have Security Issues in hand. They released their own video today, showing a full scale assault on a suspected militant stronghold in dagestan. Seven people were killed, according to russian officials, who say their ironfisted, take no prisoners approach will make the olympics safe. Wow, just a couple of weeks away. A brian with us now. You say the real first test of security they say comes tomorrow . Reporter thats right. The Olympic Torch Relay goes through volgograd where the two suicide attacks have already taken place. Meantime, russian president Vladimir Putin in an exclusive interview with George Stephanopoulos this sunday promising he will do whatever it takes to keep the games safe. Putin also addressing another controversy affecting the olympics, gay rights. In moscow today, hundreds of people protesting russias crackdown, the new law limiting gay rights. This weekend, putin stirring up more controversy, saying gay people will be welcome at the games as long as they, quote, leave the children in peace. And when george asked him about his policies toward gays, putin turned the issue around on america. Translator as they try to criticize us, they would do well to set their own house in order first. I did say, after all, and this is public knowledge, that in some of the states in the u. S. , homosexuality remains a felony. George also asking about nsa leaker edward snowden, now living in russia, granted asylum there. Would putin allow snowden to attend the olympics . Tonight, the mayor of hoboken, at the governors side in this image right here after Hurricane Sandy. But dont be fooled. There is now a huge divide between them. The mayor saying a member of the governors staff threatened her, saying she had to support one of christies projects or get no federal money after sandy. As you can imagine, the Governors Team is fighting back and here tonight, abcs ryan smith. Reporter today, hoboken mayor dawn zimmer met with the u. S. Attorneys office, now probing her allegation that Governor Chris Christies Administration threatened to withhold Hurricane Sandy relief funds if she didnt back a multimillion collar dollar redevelopment project. The major question is, did they connect Hoboken Sandy funding to the rockefeller project . The fact is that is what they did. Reporter in an interview with cnn, zimmer claims that back in may 2013, she met with the Lieutenant Governor, who came with a message from the governor himself. She came, Lieutenant Governor pulled me aside and she said, essentially, you got to move forward with the rockefeller project. This project is really important to the governor. And she said that she had been with him on friday night and that this was a direct message from the governor. Reporter zimmer claims her hardhit town received only 342,000 of the 100 million requested. But tonight, Christies Office is firing back, saying her city has, quote, not been denied on a single grant and received nearly 70 million in federal aide. The governor hasnt spoken about the accusations himself. Instead, spending the weekend at private fundraisers in florida. More than a dozen officials, including top christie aides, have been subpoenaed in the wake of the bridge scandal. So far, no evidence connects christie to any wrongdoing. As for mayor zimmer, it is the bridge scandal, she says, that caused her to break her silence. I didnt think anyone would believe me. But as i watch the coverage with the bridgegate, you do see parallels and i just felt i had an obligation to come forward. More to come on this. She, of course, is the ambassador to japan now and she is clearly not in favor of whats now happening to hundreds of dolphins rounded up in japan. Heres abcs aditi roy now. Reporter these dolphins are at the heart of an international controversy. Pitting western conservationists against an eastern tradition. U. S. Ambassador to japan Caroline Kennedy now weighing in, tweeting she is, quote, deeply concerned by inhumaneness of drive hunt dolphin killing. More than 250 bottlenosed dolphins, including this rare alb i albino dolphin, were lured into a cove off the japanese coast. According to the sea shepherd conservation society, which is tracking the dolphin roundup, two have already died and 40 have been taken into captivity. Theyve been held for 72 hours. Thats a lot of trauma, a lot of stress. Theyre not being fed. And today most likely they will kill them. Reporter the 2009 documentary the cove Brought International attention to the hunt. Thats a dolphins worst nightmare, right there. Reporter local government officials outraged by the documentary said the, quote, dolphin fishermen are just conducting a legal fishing activity in their traditional way. Activists say they are just selling the dolphins to the highest bidders at aquariums worldwide. But local villagers claim it is a critical part of their economy and a sacred cultural tradition. Its called the rosetta and it was actually launched ten years ago on an Extraordinary Mission to land on a comet. Finally, after a 500 million mile journey, will it be Mission Accomplished . Heres abcs lama hasan. Reporter its a Space Mission like no other. Launched a decade ago, the rosetta satellite has been in hibernation for the last three years to conserve power. But if all goes well, early tomorrow, an internal alarm clock will go off, and rosetta will awaken to begin the next part of the odyssey. Chasing down a comet racing towards the sun at 24,000 miles an hour. Something scientists compare to landing on a speeding bullet. When it catches up in august, rosetta will have to fire harpoons into its icy surface to complete the first ever landing on a comet. Scientists theorize that comets may have delivered the first water to earth. Perhaps even seeding the planet with the Building Blocks of life.
