We will head out to the Central Valley next. Happening today a new report being presented on the flooding in san jose. So many questions, and who dropped the ball here . Matt keller live for us in the flood zone. Reporter good morning. Five weeks ago this whole street was flooded. Now, today, you can see theres a lot of stuff that was taken from these damaged homes and sitting in giant piles here in the street as they try to repair these homes and get these people back inside. But as the clean up continues, so does the fingerpointing. A flood report is being given to the board of directors at the santa clara Water District, and this is after they sent a letter to the mayor demanding to know why the city didnt evacuate ahead of the flood water, and they said they had all the data and warnings they needed. What was the city waiting for to decide whether or not to call for mandatory evacuations . We recognize Going Forward we have to have much lower trigger points for making decisions based on what we know that creek cannot handle. In the report being presented today, the Water District said some of the Lessons Learned from the flooding was technical data was misunderstood or discounted by others, and the district san jose needs things improved. We had a crash near industrial. As you can see, we are still in the red as you get through that 92 interchange. Hard to tell how much of that is residual delay because of the collision and how much is the typical backup and then san rafael bridge right there. A shelter in place in alameda has been lifted. They had a natural gas scare. A car hit a highpressure gas line and that now has been capped. Reporter a robocall telling residents theres a gas leak. The crews are still hard at work on the situation, and they could be finished and out of here within the next hour. This happened at 1 00 this morning near alameda, and a driver crashed through a fence here and hit a fourinch highpressured gas line. Police called all nearby residents to know they should shelter in place because of the gas leak and turn off all gas appliances, and they were worried about the driver and wouldnt let him get out of his car. We waited for pg e to clear the scene and allow my crews to go in. Reporter the crews had to dig to the underground pipes to get the gas shut off. You can turn your aplayahra in this area. The driver was taken to the hospital and it looks like he is going to be okay. Reporting live in alameda, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. 6 32 now. The death count for mondays devastating fire in oakland climbed to four. Survivors are trying to cope with their new reality now. Flames erupted on early monday morning. The building was home to a nonprofit transitional housing program. One woman told us she knew several of the victims. Two of them, and possibly three. I did know them. Investigators are still trying to figure out what started the fire. The building was inspected several days before the fire and that inspection turned up violation codes, including sprinklers and alarms that didnt work. Every resident of the condo got victimized, 23 cars in all, and the strange part . Hardly any car owner had anything stolen. They took everything out, cra trashed everything and made a big mess. And then government attorneys say if the judge issues a longerlasting hold he should narrow the ruling to the part of ban. A lawsuit challenging the president s executive order does not show how hawaii would be harmed by the other sections of it. Judges in five other states are blocking the ban. Devin nunez is refusing to step aside from the house intel committees investigation into russias meddling. He was on white house grounds when an unnamed source showed him secret intelligence reports and the next day nunez claimed to have evidence that members of trumps Transition Team were inadvertently monitored. I like chairman nunez and worked well with him in the past but for the independence and credibility of this investigation he should recuse himself and thats now a bipartisan call. A republican also is calling for that. Nunez is also denying a report he tried to block former acting attorney general, sally yates, from testifying before the committee. Two Northern California antiabortion activist that made undercover videos of planned parenthood are facing more than a dozen felony charges. The video accused planned parenthood of selling tissues for profit. And yesterday California Attorney general javier becer filed charges against the two. The videos were made without the consent of the people in them and that violates state law. Similar charges against the pair in texas were dropped last year. A deal to settle corruption charges against pg e could mean a small drop in your gas bill. State regulators accuse the company of Improper Communications linked to the bruno pipeline disaster. The investigators believed the bus driver thought he was in the exit lane and he was traveling at a freeway speed in the breakdown lane.
