Im on top of the world look at this boiling hot adventure. The video going viral of a daredevils 1,200foot drop to the very edge of this crater filled with redhot lava. Its a journey to the center of the earth you have to see to believe. We do say good morning, america. And ginger saw all the lava. And she was thinking hmm, the next adventure. Dive in. Telling you. You know, that lava can be over 2,000 degrees fahrenheit. And sam cossman, the man going down says it feels like the surface of the sun. I guess you could forgive him a little hyperbole. Were going to talk to him live in a minute. Lets get right to the serious flash flooding. Almost five inches of rain falling just outside of las vegas. Ten inches in parts of virginia, creating incredibly dangerous conditions. Ginger tracking it all. I am. And you have pictures like this, from california to colorado, were watching flash flooding happening in utah at this hour. There are flash flood watches in effect, from Southern California up through parts of colorado and so much going on. The pictures, just amazing. Take a look. Streets rolling with rapids in las vegas. Ive lived here all of my life. And never seen it flooded like this. Reporter the most rain phoenix has ever seen in one day. Everythings flooded. Reporter epic flooding leaving two dead in tucson. One of the women trying to escape her car. No words would put into effect the panic and what that person was feeling, when obviously that car got swept away. Reporter northeast of las vegas, it was more than four inches in just two hours. Washing out roads, stranding livestock. Its the worst flooding sin city has seen since 1981. Thats going to be close. Dont move that car. Reporter that epic rainfall across the southwest. And a mirror image 2500 miles east in virginia. Up to ten inches of rain falling in suffolk. Dozens of cars swimming up to their windshields. Are you ready for more . Here throughout the midatlantic, there will be heavy rains, right along the coast. One to two inches. And the heaviest of it, still parts of arizona have to watch out today. But look at des moines. Well be talking about Severe Weather there coming up in the nations weather. For now, back to robin. Okay, ginger. Good to have you back from chicago with us. The shocking video thats rocking the nfl. Were learning more about the footage showing star running back ray rice knocking out his thengirlfriend, now wife, in an elevator earlier this year. The Baltimore Ravens terminated his contract. And the nfl suspended him indefinitely. Ryan smith here with the latest. Good morning, ryan. Reporter good morning, robin. Less than two years ago, ray rice was a super bowl champion. Now, his ravens jersey no longer for sale at the nfl store. He lost an endorsement deal and others are in jeopardy. Hes out of the nfl due to a video that reveals the brutal attack on his nowwife in a Hotel Elevator. This morning, ray rices wife, janay, standing by her husband. To take something away if the man i love that he has worked his [ muted ] all his life for this is the shocking video that got him sacked from the rooichbs and suspended indefinitely from the nfl. Rice, seen entering an Atlantic CityHotel Elevator in february, with his thenfiance, janay. Appearing to strike her once. Then again. Seemingly punching her so hard, she hits a railing, knocking her out. The Associated Press saw a version of the surveillance tape and reports the two can be heard yelling obscenities at one another. And janay is seen spitting on rice. The ravens firing rice, after tmz released the video on monday. When someone that you care about does wrong, you know, and is faced with the consequences of doing wrong, and rightfully so, it is tough. It is hurtful. Reporter this morning, serious questions from some about why rice wasnt oust eed sooner. The nfl telling us monday that video was not made available us to and no one in our office has seen it until today. But commissioner goodell did see this video, released by tmz sports in february, showing rice drags the unconscious janay out of the elevator. At the time, suspending him for just two games. Its appalling that it took a video to wake the nfl up. Reporter rice was charged with thirddegree aggravated assault and apologized publicly to his wife. I made the biggest mistake in my life. Shes an angel. Reporter ray rye rices camp didnt respond to our questions for comments. Roger goodell claimed he made a mistake with not enforcing more punishment. Now, many wonder if he will face more fallout. Lets go to dan abrams. You heard with Christine Brennan said. It took a video to wake up the nfl . And you have to ask yourself, whats really changed . We had seen the previous video, right . Of him dragging his wife out of the elevator. Knowing that he had hit her. Meaning he was charged criminally. That was resolved. And now, today, the nfl is acting as if, oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. Look at what happened. What did they think happened in the elevator . We knew what had happened in the elevator. And i think theyre using this to some degree as cover, to take a harsher position and give him a tougher sentence. Explain a little bit more about what they mean by that. Theyre saying they did not see the video. This is the first time theyve been seeing it. Thats an important question, technically and legally, if he ends up suing the nfl. Lets take a step back from it. Even if they hadnt seen the video, they had seen the first video of him dragging her out. And he wasnt denying that he had hit her. So, what changed . The bottom line is, yes. Weve now seen the video, the emotional impact, et cetera. As a technical legal matter, it could matter whether the nfl had seen the video previously because he could argue, wait a second. I was punished already. You guys took action against me. Theres a collective bargaining agreement, et cetera, in place. You cant just go ahead and up it at a later time. An interesting question. Ill be interested to see what michael thinks, the union, silent. No statement from the union on this at all. I want michael to weigh in. I know you will be talking about this a lot on sunday. What are you hearing from the players . And what about the union . People are thinking they may step up. I think anytime anyone sees this video. Like dan says, whats the difference with the video . Its like saying, i caught a fish this big. And you see video of them catching the fish this big. The video was impact. Its not about the nfl. Its about ray rice and his situation with his wife. Also, about Domestic Violence as a whole, outside of the nfl. So i look at this and i think, this is an issue where you have a guy that made a mistake that i wouldnt want to be associated with him. No one wants to be associated with him. He wouldnt be on my team. I wouldnt want him around in any capacity. And i think that that is the thing. I dont think i think Roger Goodell made a mistake. And he admitted that twogame suspension. I dont think he saw this video because theres no place for this in any part of society, not just the nfl. But any part. Okay. Thank you, michael. Thank you, dan. We want to know what you think. Should ray rice be allowed to play football again . Tweet us with the socialsquare and let us know. This is far, far from being over, this story.
