Under investigation is asking this morning. Game on. Steph curry and lebron james facing off. The warriors and cavaliers going headtohead in tonights superstar showdown, but lebron and what he is saying now about the reigning mvp. And good morning, america. Who is ready for the big showdown . Its going to be a late night but a good one. Lebron james and steph curry, the warriors and cavs for the second year in a row and t. J. Has the assignment out west. Hell set up game one later. That is coming up. First breaking news. Lets look live at this home. S. W. A. T. Teams are surrounding it in california. It is on fire as you see right there as Police Square off with the gunman who fled after a routine traffic stop turned violent. Abcs Pierre Thomas is tracking all the latest. Reporter good morning, george. That tense standoff unfolding overnight and right now police are trying to force the suspect out of a Burning House as one of the wounded officers remains in Critical Condition. The incident began just after 1 30 p. M. During a routine traffic stop. The suspect backed his car into a Police Cruiser and began firing. One officer injured as the suspect fled on foot. Police in hot pursuit encountering the suspect again and more gunfire. A second officer is injured. Right now we are in a mode of going out and searching yard to yard, door to door. Reporter and a manhunt is launched and hours later the suspect is found hiding in a house barricaded and refusing to come out. The confrontation the latest example of brazen attacks against police. So far 20 officers have been killed this year compared to 16 the same time last year, a 25 increase. This Morning Police taking no chances. We just introduced some gas into the residence, some tear gas in hopes that it will force the suspect out of the house. Right now it doesnt appear to be working yet. He wont come out. Reporter police are planning to deploy a robot to see where the suspect might be inside that Burning House. No word yet on whether hes been apprehended and obviously dangerous situation, robin, george. It sure is. We will stay on top of it. Thanks. The race for the white house. The candidates fighting it out in california as donald trump faces the strongest attacks yet in the wake of those Trump University allegations. Abcs tom llamas is in sacramento, california. Has the latest for us. Good morning, tom. Reporter robin, good morning to you. Donald trump dealing with Trump University and now Hillary Clinton is set to paint him as a threat to National Security. Shes making a very aggressive speech in california today to make the case that trump is unfit to be president. Overnight, donald trump back in california, convinced he can win this state in the general election and zeroing in on Hillary Clinton. Hillary clinton, who lies, i mean, she lies. Reporter trump hammering clinton over benghazi claiming she wasnt ready to respond to that deadly attack on our u. S. Compound. Guess what, she was sleeping. She was sleeping like a baby. Dont wake me up. Reporter Hillary Clinton still locked in her own primary battle but focusing on trump. He is trying to scam america the way he scammed all those people at trump u. Reporter clinton seizing on trumps growing trouble with Trump University. Trump and his employees took advantage of vulnerable americans encouraging them to max out their credit cards. Reporter donald trump currently the focus of three separate lawsuits claiming Trump University defrauded some students. At Trump University we teach success. Thats what its all about. Success. Reporter a judge ordering the release of certain documents in one of the cases including the Trump University employee playbook, revealing hard sell tactics used to get Prospective Students to get to pay tens of thousands of dollars for trumps real estate course. If you are going to achieve anything, you have to take action and thats what Trump University is all about. Reporter employees said money is never a reason for not enrolling in Trump University. If they really believe in you and your product, they will find the money, but the trump team countering, sharing these statements from trump u alumni that said the course worked for them. The courses that i took were outstanding. They were excellent in terms of the quality of the content. Amazing, amazing learning experience. Reporter now, trump taking fire from another billionaire, mark cuban. Cuban saying that trump is not transparent enough to know how much hes really worth and saying, though he knows real estate he must be desperate for cash for trying to go into ventures like trump steaks and trump water. George. Were joined by Eric Schneiderman who brought one of the suits against Trump University. Thank you for joining us this morning. You saw the testimonials at the end and the trump team says that the overwhelming majority of students were satisfied. Thats one reason he says hes going to win the case. Well, he keeps saying hes going to win the case but he keeps losing motions, all of this has been presented to the court and the two cases in california and my case in new york and they did have some students who filled out questionnaires that were not anonymous with the instructors looming over them. This has all been presented to the court. Its no defense to fraud. They told meme hand picked instructors by donald trump would teach them his personal secrets. He never met the instructors. The president of the university testified to that under oath and never participated in writing the curriculum. Thats been testified to under oath so the fact they can find a few to put on tv is not which specific laws did he break . In new york we have laws against business fraud, we have laws against consumer fraud. We have a law against running an illegal unlicensed university. This never was a university. The fraud started with the name of the organization and you cant just go around saying this is the George Stephanopoulos law firm Hospital University without actually qualifying and registering, so it was really a fraud from beginning to end. Trump has also claimed at the beginning this was a philanthropic venture. If it was he certainly made out well from the philanthropic venture. The initial estimates are that he personally pocketed 5 million from this. Can you prove that . Well get more information when we get to the damages phase of the trial but were confident he didnt do this for free. You sent out an email from your Reelection Campaign on this issue yesterday. Youre a member of Hillary Clintons Leadership Council and contributed to her campaigns. Doesnt that feed the trumps team claim that this is all politics. Not at all. The case was brought in august of 2013 after over a year of investigation and extensive negotiations with trump. If i had come on your show and said in august 2013 he would be the republican nominee for president you probably never would have invited me back again. Its not political. Its a straight up fraud case. You were talking about in 2011 trump called you and said he would be a national candidate. No, he really hes well, mr. Trump says a lot of things at a lot of points in time but i assure in the summer of 2013 this was just a fraud case and bringing cases against different for profit colleges. This stuck out like a sore thumb. It was remarkable. The new York State Department of education was chasing them around saying you cant hold yourself out as a university. They kept saying they would change their name or move out of new york. This was just a scam. If he wins the white house in november could he be called to testify as a sitting president. Sure, he doesnt have immunity from civil fraud trials. Thousands of people paid millions believing he would teach them their real estate secrets and we know from his own sworn testimony he didnt write the curriculum. None were his secrets and bilked millions out of money and were going to make sure he pays it back. Thanks to Eric Schneiderman. Yeah, such a tragedy, kayna, thanks very much. We move on to dangerous floods in texas with the rivers at record high, the National Guardsmen called in and more rain is on the way. Abcs Neal Karlinsky reports from richmond, texas, good morning, neal. Reporter george, good morning. More rains came in overnight divide this city and flooding homes, too. Overnight, texas waters rising. More than threequarters of the Lone Star State now under a flood watch. Where are we going to go . What are we going to do . Reporter the governor declaring a state of disaster in more than 30 counties. Were just trying to save our house. Reporter resources being stretched with more than 450 water rescues. Over last the four days. Oh, you guys are great. The National Guard deploying in some communities swamped by the swollen brazos river, that river four feet higher than the record set 22 years ago. 1,400 homes affected. Cattle struggling to keep their heads above water as they search for higher ground. We took a tour through hardhit parts of rosenberg, texas, the only way you can, by airboat. People have lost everything. Youre talking about four, five foot of water inside some of these homes. Reporter but to really understand the scope of the damage the best perspective is from the air and took a chopper up above the flood zone to survey the miles of muddy water. You can see how many of the roads are cut off and its really a hodgepodge of where people can actually drive and still get through and where they need to use boats. Back now live, take a look from above, parts of this state have received nearly 20 inches of rain over the last week and expecting more to come in over the next 48 hours, in fact, we have been getting rained on on and off all morning long here, george. That is just a devastating scene, neal, thanks very much. More on that new storm coming from ginger. Millions under threat. Thats the issue. You see this, now, three days in a row and start to think, why . Why is this all happening . From brownsville to corpus christi, dallas to Oklahoma City weve got those flash flood watches in place. This is why. We have a stuck pattern that makes this low pressure system very slow moving so a big ridge out in the west, this low digging in the pacific and it stays in that pattern and is going to stay that way through the end of the workweek, the beginning of the weekend, at least some more rounds of storms will sit and that thing will spin dumping at least three to five inches in some of these hardhit areas between dallas, houston, brownsville, another bullseye that could see more than 5 inches, even a half foot. When this flash flooding comes in some get 6, some get 1. You dont want to get the 6. Okay, thank you. The popular speed filter. The victim, Maynard Wentworth spending weeks in a coma suffering permanent brain damage because of that crash and now his family suing the teen and snapchat for negligence and hardship. Many may be wondering what it is. Reporter increasingly popular with teens works by having users take a photo on snapchat then a filter records the speed of motion on the screen. Its become popular for teens to send photos of those speeds to each other competing to see who has the highest. Wsb reports two of the passengers in mcgees car say she was on the app just before the crash. Said im just going to hit 100 and then im going to slow down. Reporter after the collision mcgee continues to snapchat from her hospital bed. This morning the victims attorney speaking out to abc news. The family would like snapchat to take this speed filter down immediately. Reporter snapchat telling abc news, we actively discourage our community from using the speed filter while driving including by displaying a do not snap and drive warning message in the app itself. And the lawyers for crystal mcgee say she was not using it before the crash and saying the damage to the victim was caused solely by his own negligence. Wait. So what is the purpose of the filter except to use it when youre driving. A lot of people to say they were going 0 Miles Per Hour like relaxing on vacation. In this case she was living life in the fast lane according to the suit. Hey, gio, thank you. So much excitement, robin, so excited.
