It is this face in a sketch, and the possibility of more fires that keeps Sylvia Maldonado up at night. We havent been able to sleep since. Reporter shes returning to saturday morning, when someone set fire to her neighbors home when they were sleeping inside. Im just worried that hes going to come back to this area. Reporter her worry apparently justified, because the arsonist returned to revictimmize st. Johns church. Maybe he wants the community to know that hes lost. Reporter images of a potential suspect. Ktvu obtained these still pictures today from a home surveillance camera. It shows a man matching the description, setting fire to the front parch on friday. He returned three times until he was successful. The homeowner did not want us to use his name or address. They hit our house, then the house across the street a day or two later. Seems pretty brazen. Reporter residents are asked to keep their lights on at night. Sylvia says she and her neighbors are keeping in close contact. Everybody has just been kind of working together, and trying to get this person off the street. Reporter all of these fires have been set very early in the morning. 1 00, 2 00, 3 00, 4 00 a. M. You would think there would be very little foot traffic in these neighborhoods, but the neighbor said actually, there are quite a few people out roaming the neighborhood at that time of the morning. These images were taken from various surveillance cameras, where the arsonist has struck so far. The figure seen in each of them has similar characteristics. The surveillance images helped police create this scatch. The man is described as white or latino and at least 6 feet tall. Its the middle of january, but even so, we have a red flag fire warning up tonight. It took effect just a few minutes ago at 10 00. We found evidence of the fire danger in fairfield this afternoon. This small brush fire that fire crews were able to put out quickly. In a normal year, wed have rain and the threat of grass fires would be almost nonexistent in january. In southern california, a jury in orange county, found two former Police Officers not guilty of all criminal charges in connection with the beating death of a homeless schizophrenic man three years ago. The defendants were clearly relieved when the verdicts were read. The officers encountered 37 yearold kelly thomas as they were investigating a complaint of vandalism. The july 2011 beating was caught on videotape. It shows officers repeatedly striking thomas, and using tasers on him. His parents say theyre stunned by the verdict. It just isnt fair at all. They murdered my son, and they get away with it. A coroners report found thomas died because he couldnt breathe due to a chest compression, as well as injuries to his chest. A judge today ordered an oakland man to stand trial for the murder of 8yearold alaysha carradine. The little girl was shot and killed during a sleep overat her friends house last july. Darnell williams knocked on the door. As soon as it was opened, he fired more than 10 shots. Alaysha was killed, two other children, and a 63yearold grandmother were wounded. Charges against the second suspect have been dropped. Police say the shooting was in retaliation for the killing of 26yearold germane davis earlier that day. The father of the two children who were wounded was arrested last week, and is accused of that murder. Ktvu has obtained exclusive video. It shows a fight moments before an offduty Police Officer shot a man. Ktvu claims what led to the confrontation, and what charges the suspect is now facing. Reporter ktvu has obtained surveillance video. Police say it happened after an i280 fender bender, between a Police Sergeant and is suspect. The sergeant is the figure in white on the right. The suspect, wearing a dark top appears to inspect the cars front end, a few minutes in, things get heated. While they were in conversation, and the suspect punched the female sergeant in the face. Reporter the video shows that pace and the sergeant drawing a gun. The officer sergeant then discharged her firearm, and that subsequently struck and grazed the suspect in the lower body. Reporter Police Identified the suspect as joel henriquez. He was booked on terrorist criminal threat, and threats against a peace officer. Reporter henriquez says he is seeking a lawyer. The matter is under investigation by our internal affairs division, homicide, who investigates all officer involved shootings. Reporter workers declined to talk to us on camera, but police say an off duty firefighter was here during the shooting, and acted as a witness. Southwest airlines is taking action against two pilots after they landed at the wrong airport. Then at 10 30 try to move around so that i dont get ticketed and harassed by the police. Police say the suspected gunman is a retired tampa Police Officer. Investigators say receives demanded the victim to stop texting as the movie was about to begin. The sheriff called the incident absolutely crazy. A southwest passenger jet that landed at the wrong airport in missouri, took off this evening with a new crew, but no passengers. Southwest flight 4013 was supposed to land at Branson Airport last night, but landed at a smaller airport seven miles away. No one was hurt, but the pilot had to slam on the brakes, as the plane came dangerously close to a steep embankment. Passengers were bussed to the correct airport, and then put on correct flights. The runway is just over 3700 feet long. Thats about half of the runway at branson. The southwest pilots have been grounded, pending the result of an investigation. A pastor in vacaville is denying involvement in a weekend firebombing at the home of his exgirlfriend. Authorities say mark lewis had three people carry out the attack.
