Jim richter of Performance Trust joins us on this Tuesday Morning for a closer look at the bond market. Good morning jim. Whats the bond market signaling about 4th quarter earnings . Good morning angie. Clearly bonds are strong this year. Had you asked 10 economists at the start of this year where rates were going they would all say they were going up. If you look at where 10 year treasury and long bond is trading they are down in yield and up nicely in price from the beginning of the year. Should investors be concerned about the way they invest in a low Interest Rate market vs. A rising Interest Rate market . Absolutely. Maybe too much information here but if you look at where bonds are trading today were probably 80 to 90 basis points higher in yield than we were a year ago. The important thing that you just mentioned is were still in a low rate environment and were still 100 to 150 basis points lower than where we were before the fed started buying all of these mortage backed securities and all these treasuries. So its definitely a time to be careful. Thank you for that jim. In our cover story, the bureau of labor statistics has revised its list of occupations it predicts will have Bright Futures over the next couple of years. Beginning with two jobs in particular under the broad umbrella of health care and information technology, highlighted by recent news events. When target stores announced that customer information had been hacked, recently, it had the effect of sending a warning to companies worldwide. It used to be just the government got breached, not its target. Tomorrow, it could be a hospital. And each time, it gets more personal. We know its going to happen, just like target did. Weve got to make sure were ahead of those guys at all times. In addition to information security, the bureau of labor statistics updated its list of promising job fieldsnearly half of them in health care, such as nurses who administer anesthesia and phlebotomists, technicians who draw blood, not necessarily in a hospital or doctors office. I think if you add phlebotomists, its a lower paying position but could do it at a walgreens or cvs without them having to hire a fulltime nurse to provide treatment to consumers. Rounding out the list, genetic counselors, alternative energy, such as wind turbine or solar panel technicians, despite the present supply of oil and natural gas, fundraisers, particularly for nonprofits, and Health Benefits analysts, the hr person who can explain to the cfo what costs the company will incur when the subsidies run out will be very valuable. Weve been hired to do that for some clients and its hard to make truly accurate projections. The complete occupational outlook handbook for 2014 and 2015 is Available Online at b lsdotgovbackslashooh. It includes 580detailed occupations, eduction and training requirements and earnings potential. First off, we listened to customers and what customers told us is they actually want more capability in their trucks and they want greater fuel efficiency. So in our next generation f series, which we are basically reinventing americas favorite truck, we have a high Strength Steel framewhich is the spine of the truck. Then the body is a groundbreaking use of high strength Aluminum Alloy and that allows the vehicle to shed about 700 pounds. That allows customers to tow more, to haul more, to accelerate faster, to stop shorter, and get great fuel economy. What will be the biggest growth area for ford this year. Why the hack attacks at target and Neiman Marcus may be worse than suspected. Bill moller brings us the details. And bank check. Two Financial Firms that could come out with upside surprises this earnings season. Well be right back. There is no doubt the hackers are getting more sophisticated. The latest Security Breaches at target and neimens rattle all of us. So why cant systems be developed to protect us. It seems the bad guys are always ahead of the game. Lets talk with jerry irvine. He is the cio with Prescient Solutions. Youve just learned some new details about these latest hacks. What do we now know . Theres suggestion now that based on the amount of information and the different categories of information from user ids, passwords, Social Security numbers, all of that information that it was not just a point of sale system but potentially the back end servers as well. So much more deeply integrated. Its scary. Do we need to get used to these kinds of headlines . Unfortunately i think we do. The problem that we have is the hackers have the ability to share information openly without thought or fear of retribution. The individual companies if they share information they could be held liable. What percentage of retailers would you say have experienced a hack . Truthfully i would guess most if not all companies have had some type of breach. Whether they were minor breaches, denial of service attacks or Something Like that, all the way up to full breaches of personally identifiable. How fast do these bad guys operate . How quickly do they break through a Security System once its been put in place . Some of these events are long term persistent threats which could take years to get in. The important part is once theyve found out how to do it they recreate that incident across multiple facilities. So it could be days or weeks or hours in some cases where they hit another facility. So what do we do . It makes me feel like i want to go all cash and forget credit cards altogether. What kinds of proactive steps do consumers need to be responsible for doing . Not a bad idea but nobody can get rid of all of their credit cards. Having credit cards that you use online that have lower limits so that if it is breached information isnt stolen. Creating separate user ids and passwords across all of your individual accounts. Dont have the same one everywhere because as soon as they hack it once, they can use that information to go somewhere else. One more thing. Antivirus on your machines and dont use publicly accessible wifi. Jerry irvine with Prescient Solutions thanks so much. Thank you. Thank you bill. Just ahead why one money manager says there is money to made on banks. Maybe even this week. Chart talk is next. Its a big week for the banks. Joining us now is matt shapiro president of mws capital.
