The number one accident that we go to is rearend accidents. Thats the most common. And 99 percent of the time people are speeding and following too close and you see it all the time. Thats what drives me crazy. A good following distance is two to three seconds, and thats at any speed. I cant give you an actual distance, but two to three seconds, if you pass a sign, count oneto three. Thats the distance you should be behind someone be it in a fifteen mile an hour school zone or a sixtyfive mile an hour freeway zone. Thats a good following distance.

angry, upset, tired. Those are some of the best ways to describe how parents were feeling as they waited for their kids to be released. The hundreds of parents that stood out here last night is no more. All ofe have been released back to their parents arms. But brian and kirsten. It was a long process. One by one. Every student was being checked and cleared. As their parents sat outside and waited trying to figure out if their kids were alright the school called. They did their calls to me. They did what they had to do. I know, i understand. Theres protocol. We have to follow protocol. If everyone could just act civil, and be civil, things would have went a lot smoother. frustration all around. That mom told me she was tired and upset. Because she didnt have a clue how her young son was doing . I did ask her son. What it was like inside. He told me it was a slow process. They were fed pizza and told to talk amongst themselves. He was just released about an hour ago so when i asked what he wanted to do next. Understandably, his answer was sleep. School is closed today. Here. Again, everyone is safe.
