Certain man to be officers elders in the church and deacons and. And church government is in their hands as far as the local church is concerned but unfortunately they were bound together by an organization above the local church and that organization could control a local church and that was not the method and it function for many years and actions today of course then there is the other extreme form that is from the festival that is the Congregational form of government and the Congregational form of government you see it of course in the Congregational Church and in the Baptist church that is the people are the ones that night that their station and they are the ones that actually are in control of the entire Church votes on taking in members entire church s. The vote on everything the local church and that is the other extreme from the festival and you say well how in the world can they get 3 forms of government well as we go through we will attempt to call attention to that and force them at them on these other 2 pastoral press so it was the interpretation actually of words they was that they interpreted certain words now the very interesting saying is in the early days all free forms of government function and seem to work well but in recent years all 3 forms of government saying go with fallen on evil days they don't seem to work as they want the it and I hear man that are members of all 3 forms of government that tell me today that that is the internals drive and internal disorder today and. And this sentient and what is wrong of me to let somebody says well this is wrong and by the way we have a representative form of government in this country and it is based on church government it was patterned after it you see the early colonists they didn't want to King that's the only form of government they knew but they had had enough of a king they did not want an autocratic form of government and they were rather reluctant to let the people rule that may seem strange to you when you lessen the local politicians today but when you talk about everybody having a vote not sort of thing in the early colonists women didn't vote and those that were not landowners they did not vote only those that had property and only a certain elite class were the ones that voted Now the reason they would not have a keen to rule over them is because they couldn't trust human nature. And that means I couldn't trust each other we think of those man has been wonderful a let ical high traffic sites Well they were human but in this they all with foibles and they knew they couldn't trust each other so they would not put power in the hands of one man and they have or prayed to put it in the people I am because they had no confidence in the people either and that sort of destroys the idea that a politician gives you the day that when the people speak well you hear the voice of God that the boys of the people is the voice of God Well frankly that's just not true what is it told it's wrong people say that our form of government what's wrong well now I want to say something now and I hope I'm not misunderstood and I recognize my inability to express it in the way I'd like to express it to you of that I believe that Paul is saying in a supposed So here that the important thing is not the form of government but a form of government is important. The important thing is that the character of the man who are holding office that the way we are certain caliber and have a certain character Now as far as this is concerned and far as there's a personal 1st Emma is concerned and it will be true in the other 2 things man must meet certain requirements a husband a one y. And that type of thing and they must be sober and all of that now is essential as that is and that is argued so much that day in the local churches and here's something that I never heard argued in my long years as a pastor already years and this is what Paul is trying to say to us and I hope I can get that through and it's there that the man who are officers are the ones that must be spiritual My friend because no sense will function unless the man are right who are in the slightest and position of authority if they are wrong Gnosis Some will work and whether the congregation Marchesa Kabul or Presbyterian none of the work when the men are wrong and that my friend is the problem today is the problem today in politics it's a problem in the church we lack the Miami not to be a successful businessman. And the Holy Spirit is the one to give the leading and the guiding and direction and the officer is never to assert his will in anything is to find out what the will of God it and that means you have to be a man afraid you have to be motivated by love my friend may I say to you that's the only kind of man that are to ever be an officer are a menace in the church man if I and motivated by love now that doesn't mean that he's going around and solve every body and rub their back and try to be a man pleaser a saying that he's going to try to do is to carry through the will of Christ in that shirt and that here so make it clear that Christ is the head of the church and that his job is to see the Christ is the head of the church or how I've spent weary hours in board meetings.
