Connected in a deadly confrontation. This all started as a Home Invasion in west phoenix near 67th and thomas. One man was arrested, and the second guy drove off starting that chase. Officers were very careful and let the Police Chopper track the man. Just listen to some of the chopper traffic. You guys have your lights on here . Remember. He is armed. Be very careful. Police tracked the suspect to a home where they used spike strips on the car and eventually drashed at the i10 and i 17 interchange, pointing a gun at officers. They opened fire, killing him. Thankfully, no officers were hurt. A man expected woman suspected to survive after they were shot at a bus stop. Someone fired 16 shots, and that shooter is still on the now, to the west valley. A man is also expected to recover from a gunshot wound here. Police officers arriving on the scene at 43rd and glendale before 1 00. We are told that the victim doesnt say were about who might have shot him. So that investigation is still ongoing. The temperatures are climbing under clear skies with upper 80s and 90s in the valley. Peoria, you dropped in the 60s this morning, and now up to 90 degrees. 92 in glendale and levine and 90 in tempe, and holding on to the upper 80s in Apache Junction and chandler and cave creek, 88. Warming up and still feels good. 88 in phoenix and casa grande, 90. Check out the temperatures in the west. 70s to 80s from lake havasu, yuma, 90, and flagstaff, you dropped to freezing this morning but you are warming up quickly. You are up to 66 already and keep warming to near 70 this afternoon. Overall, even though the temperatures will keep warming, they are not going to go too high as we still have cooler air filtering in behind the storm system that brought us the moisture earlier this week, and we will enjoy the below average temperatures the next pushing in, too, so that means no Storm Chances for the valley or the state. We will have a system bring back the Storm Chances but not through the weekend. Today, as you look at the satellite and radar, clouds on the eastern border but dry conditions across the state. Maybe a few high clouds drifting into the White Mountains and east. The valley, looking sunny. Going into tomorrow and through the weekend, our forecast looks to stay dry. If you have been waiting to get the car washed, the next few days might be the opportunity to do that. Clear skies and temperatures in the upper 90s the next couple days and then the 100s setback in for the weekend, but just low triple digits. After this weekend, we could see the Storm Chances return. These are african tortoises that just hatched two weeks ago. Two weeks ago, thats it . Yes. They are so tiny. We wouldnt be able to do this full sized. Thats right. The size of a golf ball when they are born and it can take the fullgrown size which is over 250 pounds. Oh, wow. Oh, my goodness. What do they eat at this young of an age . The same thing that adults do, a lot of grass. In africa where they are native. [laughter] oh, sleepy. Oh, yeah. They eat a low nutrient diet like grass and shrubs, but they also like cactus because they get the majority of they need from the food they eat and stay hydrated. He or she . Yeah, they are very active. But being a tortoise, they actually dont swim. Thats a difference between tortoises and turtles. Do they make good pets . They actually dont. A lot of people in the pet stores love them. They are adorable. Size, they grow for 200 pounds and they live over 100 years so you have to leave them in the will to a grandchild or a child. They live a long time, and we have a petting zoo at Wildlife World zoo. So kids can get up close. Do you have the big ones, too . We do. And those are the ones that you can touch at e zoo.
