Reporter well, this is the flyer Phoenix Police are handing out and showing neighbors who live at this apartment complex here, and they desperately are trying to find this missing eightyear old girl. Police say the last concern confirmed sighting of her was saturday morning. Neighbors told officers they may have seen her Walking Around the complex sunday but officers are stopping vehicles and going door to door to gather any information they can, even spreading the word to local businesses. Shes never been gone for this long. The first 48 hours is very critical. Although it is common for the scroll to be independent in the complex, we are still talking about an eightyearold girl in 48 hours. The girls mother is out of the country right now and she was left in the care of moms boyfriend. So far police say he is cooperating but they need your help. Reporter its incredible no trooper was killed in all of this. We are at the 64th street exit. Here is where a trooper used spike strips to try to slow the guy down. 106 northbound. I have spikes set up on the onramp when the guy noticed the trooper, he changed directions, turn around, and drove straight at that trooper barely missing him. At the next as split, the crash with several patrol cars. When troopers noticed he had a gun, they shot and killed him. Police are now looking into the circumstances around this. Reporter thats exactly right. This nineyearold little girl, she disappeared from her apartment complex here at 40th street and broadway in mesa at some point yesterday morning. As the hours ticked by, police got about her situation and where she could possibly be. In fact, a little more than an hour ago just after 10 00, they issued what was called a court response, which gets multiple agencies involved to look for a missing or abducted child, because mesa police didnt have a lot to go on here. Moments later, the little girl walked right back up to Police Officers in the apartment complex. She looks like she was in good condition. We have this video of her out her face. She looked in good condition. She was wearing a little dress. She actually had some extra clothes tucked under her arm as we saw her chatting with a Police Officer. She didnt look like she was interest, although what we didnt see was a parent or some other relative coming right out there with her. We dont know at this point where her parents or relatives may be or how this all is going to develop. Theres a big chunk of time, about 24 hours, where she has been missing, and so at first they were reporting there will be questions weather or not she ran away or weather or not there was a miscommunication about where she is staying.
