A lot to get to here involving breaking news happening this morning and i want to start with a manhunt going on right now in South Phoenix for the suspect who shot and killed a Convenience Store clerk. We broke this story on abc15. Com early this morning. Justin pazera is on the scene. Its near 16th street and southern, justin, what do our viewers need to know about what police are searching for . Reporter yeah, at this point we really dont have a clear description of who the robbery, but lets set the stage for you here, it happened in the parking lot. One of the clerks of this 7 eleven was outside, thats when that armed robber approached him and forced him inside that 7eleven right there. From there, he was demanding that clerk to take everything out of that register, all of this was going on while there was yet another clerk inside that store. Both of them were forced to do what this guy said at gunpoint. The suspect moves victim to a backroom, a Stockroom Office area, and its inside this area where the suspect shoots one of the victims, one of the clerks. Reporter from there, the other clerk was able to get up, run outside. He was followed by that suspect back out to this parking lot. From there police dont know really where that suspect went. They do believe that he was on foot. They say that he was wearing dark colored clothing. He also had his face covered so they hope that someone that is in this area, very busy area here at 16th street and southern, they are hoping that somebody that was in the area could help them out. And at the live desk right now, a man is recovering after he was beaten and carjacked. This unfolding late last night near 71st avenue and lower buckeye road. If you know the area, its right by sierra linda high school. Three men approached the victim and then took shots at him, beating him up and then stole his vehicle. We are still waiting on a description of the suspects and also the missing car but thats what i have to offer at this very moment, danielle. A Family Gathering just went terribly wrong. Deputies say a man shot a friend, he took off but was then found dead nearby. This happening at a home near buckeye at 195th avenue and got into some sort of a fight and thats when the suspect shot the victim several times, that victims condition is still unknown this morning. Family members actually took him to the hospital but then deputies found the suspect down the street dead in his car. Hes been identified as 48year old robert scott either widey erobidi. There were multiple shots fired, there is only one victim currently being treated. We do have we had juveniles at the residence but everybody else is okay. They were not directly involved. At this time its still not clear how the suspect died. Four minutes after 5 00. He is accused in a horrible double murder in phoenix, now hes behind bars, this is 37 yearold brandon sutherland. Neighbors telling us hes a former marine, now facing two counts of firstdegree murder and this spot is where police say he surrendered. This is the scene at a Mobile Home Park near 35th avenue and beardsley. Location. Neighbors tell us the victims and the suspect are family members but police have yet to confirm how they may have known each other. Danielle. Dan, a 9yearold boy and two women very lucky this morning because they managed to escape a burning home in phoenix that did not have a smoke alarm. The fire started at this home near 14th street and mckinley. One of the women in the house smelled smoke and quickly got the other two out. That little boy did have to go to the hospital but was not seriously hurt. The familys dog survived but, dl investigators still trying to figure out how this one started. Arizona politicians and donald trump really having a tough time playing nice this year. Trump will not endorse mccain when he does. Right now all flights going out of sky harbor cancelled. Thats because of this power outage in atlanta that took down deltas computer system, then operations worldwide. Now, there are widespread cancellations, more than 10,000, just to put this into perspective for you, this outage is so bad that flight status system, including showing flights on time. Passengers we have talked to, as you can imagine, upset. We got to get back and not having answers is, you know, thats not the expectation you have when you fly with a major carrier, especials when especially when there are tons of flights going on, in atlanta, their hub, they should have this handled. Abc news learning the 10 yearold son of kansas state representative scott schwab died while riding whats known as the tallest water slide in the world here at the schlitterbahn water park. Still brought tears to my eyes that someone else lost their child. Thats my childs age that im sure they felt was safe. Before the ride opened two years ago many raised questions about its safety especially after watching these early safety tests showing sandbag the rides opening delayed at least three times while the park reworked it, adding seat belts and safety netting. I get one of these complaints on average every single day. You deposit the check, youre asked to send or wire money somewhere else, the check is bad three days later, your money is gone. Any large check for work you havent done, a contest you havent entered or overpayment for something youre selling is fake. So thats large checks. T. J. Yeah, the pilot fire, this actually started as a 30acre brush fire but its now quickly spread to 1500 acres. Evacuations were issued yesterday afternoon in the Summit Valley area thats in San Bernardino county. More than 350 firefighters are battling this wildfire and it is still not clear how this even started. They cannot catch a break in the golden state, right, for california. Run season already. An update on the soberanes contained, more than 5000 crew members still battling the flames there, 57 homes have been destroyed. We will keep some chances out there to the east but for us in the valley we are not going to be dealing with anything like that. Now, tomorrow thats when things sort of start to kick off but a slow start, we will start to see a little bit of moisture move in by your morning commute. We are going to keep rain chances pretty low, though, tomorrow, slight for us there. Because we are looking out for pockets like this here. We will still keep those rain chances up to the north and then look as we continue to take this on in through the rest of the evening, you still in here, so thats going to kick up our rain chances pretty good, at least on wednesday and thursday, so we are going to be looking out for those days to be some of the highest days that we have those rain chances.
