This is all for the racial profiling case that dates back years and has cost taxpayers 48 million. He was found guilty of deliberately disobeying court orders, in this case continuing arpaio admitted to continuing to do that but says it wasnt intentional. Breaking early this morning, maybe you heard the sirens and commotion in mesa. We are on the scene of this, a driver with hi high beams on that it ended in a neighborhood and two people took off running from a car and into a home near broadway and warren. Police tried to pull the driver over but he took off. Officers decided to back off after he started running red lights at high speed, but a helicopter took over and led the officers rite to them. One suspect needed medical a driver slammed into a palm tree at 40th street south of mcdowell overnight. No word on the drivers condition. 40th street has reopened. I know hes not known to wear seat belts. Theres been a couple times we warned hip of stuff out here. Now ryan johnson is mourning the loss of his best friend. Two teens and a 22yearold are dead after a fiery crash Central Avenue and butler. One teen actually got that car as a gift. Reporter they did, got that mustang as a graduation gift. He was shot and killed when the troopers felt threatened. Hes accused of breaking into a home and killing a familys dog. He claims his buddy bobby was with him and police say he admitted to the burglary and it may have been an inside job, saying bobbys sister lives at the home and he was the one who ki no word on bobby this morning. Late last night we learned the chief deputy was indicted after an information involving rico money. This happened on i5 in irvine. Authorities got a call about somebody running in the northbound lanes then switched to the southbound lanes when he was hit. Officers say when they arrived to check on the man, he was on his feet and started fighting with the officers. California Highway Patrol then opened fire and killed that man. The shooting caused significant traffic backups there. Across the nation, one man recovering after an encounter with two bears in california. He was hiking when a brown bear approached and he started walking backwards to escape. That is when the second bear that was behind him attacked. The bite marks on his neck, and surprisingly he was able to get away. There are more than 400 possible cases of mumps and the reported at least one case from their school. Any student without an mmr vaccine is required to stay home at least 26 days unless they get vaccinated. Sprinkle this morning, its a dry day as this disturbance clips northern arizona. The valley staying dry here and really over the next 72 hours as we look at the futurecast. We are tracking another disturbance that will move through tomorrow, but again, youre barely going to notice it. Well see some passing high clouds at times over the next few days. Attorneys office to decide whether or not to criminally charge sheriff arpaio after he deputies continued to pull over latinos. Will his tough stance land him on the other side of the law . This is a look at the path of this flight leaving phoenix. This jet blue flight 602, somebody on board had a medical the plane and the plane continues onto boston. No update on their condition. Back at home, a man is recovering after being hit by a car at 19th and dunlap. He was in a wheelchair when he was hit. The driver did stay on the scene. Officers say impairment does not appear to be a factor at this point. Mesa police need your help identifying this man. Hes no joker. They are hunting the batman. They say this guy pm Near Country Club and university, and then showed his gun to the clerk. She was so scared she couldnt open the register, so he grabbed some snacks and took off. The gloves couldnt cover that tattoo on his left arm there. If you have information on who he is, call mesa police. This morning two young disappeared in phoenix. Officers are talking with one 8 yearolds moms boyfriend. Officers say the boyfriend failed to report her missing until 48 hours later. Then in mesa, a 9yearold, police say she ran away from home. Jade coyle walked home. Were told she had a change of clothes and a phone. A memorial is three young men were killed in a fiery crash. Officers believe they were street racing. Reporter mixed in with this memorial, there are still a lot of car parts. You can see this growing memorial here. It just continues to grow from last night. And you can see the charred tree here. This is where one of the cars on impact. Some neighbors came out here, pulling the men away from that vehicle. This morning we are hearing from family and friends of the young men. Two were ejected, not wearing seat belts. The damage to the vehicles were so bad that police had to use vin numbers to figure out what kind of car it was. Family members say they tried to warn their loved one that not wearing his seat belt extremely dangerous. To always wear your seat belts. They say its the law. Wear it for safety. You never know when somebody is going to cut you off or something. Thats what theyre for. Reporter family members in tears as they looked at the spot where theiloved ones died. We are waiting to hear more speed of the drivers as well. One valley father says he is doing the right thing but police say otherwise. Brad porter jr. Says his family has been homeless since 2014 and a friend gave him the idea to gamble his last few dollars in hopes of getting the family a room for the night. Decisions, you know. Reporter when they went to check on the boy, their car was surrounded by rescue workers. Officers say the two reeked of alcohol and found a container of marijuana. Maybe you heard the sirens in the tempe area. This was the scene early this morning, firefighters rushing to the house fire near i10 and baseline. Were told the home is act fast. They were successful in keeping the flames from spreading. No one was injured. The stafford area still trying to dry out after a storm over the weekend slammed the area.
