When we get heavy rain, everything pools here and has nowhere to go. Some were deterred by signs reading road closed. Some took a chance anyway. But this morning about 7 30, another high tide brought water back and it came from in the building. It was like a reverse hydraulic effect. The creek was at a level to push water up there u the storm drain, all of the floor drains, poilts, and other drains were taking water on. We were filling up from the inside out versus taking water on from the outside in. About three inches flooded the bar. Police are trying to determine if a deadly crash was caused by the rain. They were called to greenville way when someone spotted an overturned suv in a gully. In a few yards, a body was found in the backyard of a nearby home. It could be weather related. We dont know that. Again, it could be a medical reason, it could be another type of reason, or a mechanical failure, we just dont know right now. Of course an autopsy will help determine a cause of death. Youre looking at a live picture of the bay bridge. Traffic moving steadily tonight. We are learning it has another problem. It leaks. Rainwater is getting into the steel structure under the road deck on the suspension stretch which is supposed to be water sight. They spent the day on the bridge looking for leaks. It raises the possibility of corrosion and that weakens the structure. I was in the bridge at the end of last week, and its water collecting on the bowls, almost like condensation on your car window. It builds up enough to form a bead, and it drops. Thats all it is. Officials say the bridge is safe. Rainy weather caused dozens of flight cancellations. 46 arrivals and departures were delayed. We are picking up light showers near berkeley, richmond, that will all be moving on towards the east. I want to show you in the south bay, in the peninsula b with not as much as far as the rainfall in your totals after this storm system. But starting to see now a little rain and all of that is moved towards coopertino, milpitas, and san jose. You will get a little more rain tonight. Raining now in gilroy. So, here is a look at the rainfall totals so far. Now remember well have a better handle on just how much every location received the past three days when the totals really come in tomorrow. But this kind of just gives you a feel of where most of the storm hit, and clearly it was in the north bay which is now closer to 15 inches. Over 6 inches, santa rosa, over 11 inches at mount st. Helena. And lesser amounts as we head in towards livermore and san jose and redwood city. Here is a live shot. As the frontal system moves through, the fog will return. It will be dense in areas tomorrow morning. Keep that in mind. Current readings in the 50s still. This has been a very warm sector as it moves through the bay area.
