Well that was the study and so this is a would you say a blend of because part of it is of course expressing ourselves and maybe also putting down our dreams in the things that we would like to accomplish in life but is there something it's not magic like magic but is there something magical about. Writing you know obviously we know the power of our thoughts this is been proven even with our physical bodies our health and our wellness what we think affects our our bodies and. This is a scientifically proven you just look at the whole placebo effect or the no CBOE effect as well but the work that you're doing it seems to be consciously activating what we want in life in literally writing it into existence yes that's the 1st step it's a 10 steps process that I've identified and and made exercises reading on exercises to go with those 10 steps but bringing thoughts into reality is really an incredible process that I've been able to break down and teach in a chronological order through these workbooks and that's what that's what's so exciting because it can be learned it can be a life skill and if you want your dreams to happen more often and on purpose more and deliberately then you can learn this as a life skill it's not and it is magical but it's not magic to answer your question so it's something that's achievable Absolutely and I think I would love to see eventually or sooner or later see this in high schools and colleges Yes and I have actually taught it to a couple of teenagers from Haiti so it's really really interesting so it's easy enough for people to actually learn how to do this and repeat it that's because that was the thing because most of us before we embark on anything. Saying we wee while the fears come up right here's come up yes and what we're what we're talking about of those fears that come up maybe from our childhood those those old stories if you're not good enough you don't matter you're nobody wants to hear your story right. You're not you know you're not an author. Deborah you're not an author you're not some you don't have a p.h.d. Right right those things yeah but I think that what I heard was. You can't make any money doing that really a lot of the creative professions This is what I was told growing up you can't really make any money can't make a living at it and there was just this sort of impression that only a few people really main made it big as a writer or as a musician or in the creative field Well let's talk about the power of writing and and offering your own book I think it's one of the most amazing things that we live 1st of all we live in an age where we don't have to go to the old printing press you know and put all the typesetting in that's great but also we're not in the age of the more where you have to beg a publisher democracy in publishing is what I call him ocracy you know talk about the democracy in publishing because most people they still don't understand that you can actually publish your own book your own story and sell it and make money off of it but also change lives exactly you don't have to go to some big publishing house and try and squeak in through it with a manuscript is old Please please please take my book and please give me 0 money and please oh my god I worked in that little corner office is where all those manuscripts piled up and yes I used to work you know publishing. Company and that was my job was to read all those manuscripts and decide which ones own sitter Well Ok so that's that's what kind of got me started on this journey because I wanted to be a writer myself I always been writing and in some kind of little ways like I was the editor of my junior high school newspaper and just I wasn't in my college newspaper reporter so it was always there yeah I just never was able to have the courage to actually manifest myself as a writer and until the last 10 years ago when I started this program let's talk about. The power of being an author Well there's so many so many powers to it 1st of all just some of the people that have taken the course with me they've only done the course because they wanted to redesign their like they wanted to do the vision plan book but I have other people that are much more serious they want to take it further I've had people that have written 4 books 3 books now there they have their books for sale on Amazon so the power of Publishing Your Own Book 1st of all is just that internal vision and going through that process and really just sort of it just boosts your self-confidence and your self-esteem in the most positive ways possible it also makes you an expert. You're automatically an expert Absolutely I've even written a couple of articles about throw away your resume and take your book with you to your next job interview yes this is really powerful and for myself and for many others that I have coached to be having their book published because they do publishing coaching now as well these people have raised their the price of their product their services that they've become consultants they've become coaches they've become speakers as well and teachers and they start giving workshops and seminars so they have really increased their. Their bottom line by becoming an author Well yeah when you walk in the door and and you have a book not only also you become someone that people want to talk to absolutely You become sort of someone famous yes ending on how far you've taken how far you know like how big your market is your market and all of your friends and your family and your your coworkers and your peers they look at you in a whole new light they really really do so this package that we're going to be offering to our listeners on this on the show today is a package that is it's for someone who wants to not it doesn't have to be necessary someone who wants to eventually publish a book right but they could be for someone who just wants to set out their goals and you like you said like a vision board kind of Yeah right yeah and she whatever it is whatever your goals are what are the things the dreams the things that you want to accomplish this is one way to do it absolutely Or you can. Wonderfully create your own book and it's this and it's and it's easy it's easy it's it's. It's a process yes. I make it easy because I break it down into 10 steps and most people are really just stuck on one of those steps so a lot of my courses you'll have somebody stuck on the step you'll have somebody else stuck on that step somebody else stuck on another step and it's so funny how that people are feeling in such a vulnerable uncreative state that they actually help each other through those steps that they get stuck on Oh that's beautiful and it's usually just one step and so that's what's holding up everything and of course the 1st step is to launch your courage and so we do these foreign little exercises and we all do in together and it's really intense but it's some of the deepest personal transformation work that that you'll be able to do and what kind of God I mean really going on this is because I probably spent enough money on all those workshops and seminars you horses to buy a small home because I am I was rolling like you mention addicted to self-help and personal transformation and what got me going on this direction was because I wanted to take the human potential movement to another level and my my inspiration was to teach people how to. Figure out how to model after the their own best version of themselves because all these a lot of these teachers try to teach you to model after them because they think whatever they did worked for them but I don't necessarily agree with that because we're all unique and we were in a different time in a different place in a different country and different economy so to try to model after somebody who's sort of a famous Human Potential speaker teacher is not necessarily going to work for everybody in fact it probably only works for you and you're not only your own power exactly you're copping your modeling you're copying Yeah. Let's talk about some of the success stories soap some Let's talk about some maybe. You know if you've been doing this for 6 or some time yes how many people 1st of all how many people would you say that were just your regular Joes Susie cues that you helped that actually have now their own book or books published and if you can if you have just a couple lick a little. Cases but a few people a few people that kind of stand out and you know really maybe surprised you with what they did Oh I have so many interesting stories they're all very unique but I'll never forget one of my students in. The Corps and the vision of course is pretty simple it's 2040 pages and it's kind of like a little story book a little can't write and story book and it's mostly pictures but we're very organized about the story line and the chance to help us break it down so she was taking the course because she had lost her husband he had passed away about a year and a half before and she was just trying to get out of her hole she was trying to get out of the press and she was trying to break the spell of all that and she actually pretty much cried through the 1st class. And it was so sweet because everybody just loved honor you know because it's you are Boehner but when you're telling your own story and but I do like to say there's there's a saying that says Don't don't die with your music still in you know I like to say don't die with your story in you so I really try to inspire people to bring their own story out their story not everybody else's story. But anyway by the time she finished the course she was completely transformed she had let it go and then what she wrote the book on was building a garden go away sis because her husband had taken care of the garden watts of garden flowers and vegetables and just beautiful bushes and trees and it all died when he died nobody took care of it so she decided she was going to resurrect the garden and so the book was dedicated to him and it was a plan how she was going to build this garden and it was wonderful she just really you know we have graduation party and we have sort of a little book signing in everybody gets There's a story and she was just so happy and so bubbly she let it go that's beautiful to that book how many people how many how many people would you say that you have taken through this process I would probably say close to a little over $100.00 well you know on the vision book I've done so much work with the vision book there is I would say 20 percent of the people in those vision book classes that's my kindergarten class I say those people blow up into full blown authors they do the vision book and then all these books start roarin out of them and a lot of people already have books they've written in their in their job or in their closet you wouldn't believe how many people have books already written I want to say that. It's not what happens is when you tap into those the things that you can offer the world. Your story. Overcoming injustice overcoming a disease or heartache just telling little stories I mean things that have impacted you because we have so many amazing stories. When you really kind of peel back the layers of the onion we all have a lot of books in us don't we oh my gosh we do not just one so incredible as so incredible and I mean it's the work is just like exhilarating for me and I guess what I'm really trying to do is the 1st time I finally got my own book published that feeling of exhilaration was like I felt like I was on top of the world you know and like the Titanic that movie where they're at the top of that ship you know top of the world and so every time somebody else gets their book published I feel that again I experience that for them and even for myself again oh it's a great accomplishment so and we have a mutual friend we have someone that that I know has an incredible walk because I refer to it quite often and she's doing quite well with Julia logons Yes I love her she's a great client and great friend to know how did she come to you she just came through heard about me through one of my courses that was being offered and she decided that she didn't want to go to the course she was too busy you know a lot of people are too busy to show up for a course so she hired me as a private publishing coach we did her 1st book together dared to talk to you and then a couple of years later we did it takes guts to be happy it takes guts to be happy 1st of all great title well. Go on so I don't know the rock. So it's a beautiful book and. It's a combination almost like a book write a book in a workbook Yeah well yes it's and it's so wonderful because that's her life's work she's been yes and field for 35 years and she probably knows really more about this than even most people in this field. It's a digest of health again. And just an angel of a human being she is as you know and and as I was reading her her book ice like I was like she's a good writer too but you I can hear her I hear yes throughout this throughout the book well I hope I helped her with the writing because I you know I teach writing and 1900 the publishing when I have a private client and I help her a little bit with the editing but what I really like to do is teach them how to be their own self editor and I love to teach writing because a lot of people are like oh I can't write I'm not a writer most people are like that they feel like they got bad grades in English or something in junior high or high school but that's not it at all I have videos that explain there's a difference between the craft of writing and the art of writing and you can't be a writer without the art of writing which is the story inside of you but with the crash you know you just hire people or you just learn how to do the editing and one of my many courses is a self editing course and I mean it probably took me 20 years to learn how to do that but there's 10 really amazing tips in there that if the people use those 10 chips it will be pretty darn good editing you know and speaking of all that we have you have it an incredible. Beautiful beautiful venue which has brought democracy and publishing because it's affordable it's absolutely affordable it's a little complicated on the technical things but we're making it very simple so with the self publishing tool kit there is 7 videos and they are really really simple explainer and take videos that just go through what is self publishing you know what is print on demand and what is what does that really mean because everybody's maybe heard of these terms but what does print on demand well print on demand is basically digital printing and with just just to simplify it with all printing press you really really had to set up. Probably about $25000.00 books on a 1st run just to get the cost down enough to make it affordable to sell it right so now all we have to do with print on demand as we set up one digital are file with your book one file so this is what makes it affordable and it does cost money to set up the initial file or your labor writing in making it into a file using some kind of software that is compatible with book publishing format so it's just make That's where we get to democracy and in publishing now so then you can you can have the books made you don't have to have a big you have to have a closet full of knowledge of books that are going to they're going to get old and dirty and dusty it's just print on demand it will last exactly that is when you need a book if somebody's going to purchase it through you or your website or something like that then it is creative Yes I mean they they literally create it at the print on demand company for example I have a lot of my books on Amazon so if somebody goes and orders a book on Amazon it gets printed probably the next day they already have my file it's already been approved it's already been proof read it's already been accepted and put it together with everybody else's books that are this saying same size in the same format and they just they just slap it out of there just kind of comes out of the computer Wow I love technology I love technology now and so that's a very valuable piece that you have on the u.s.b. Drive and another one that you have on this on the u.s.b. Drive is the smoothly written ride 10 days of do it yourself editing tips are these this is the self editing to yeah yeah the thing is you know if you want to be really professional about this you get hired a book cover down for $1500.00 you can hire an editor for 3.
