Well, unfortunately the cold pattern is going to be in place as we get into the first day of the new year. It will stick around for awhile. Temperatures not really going to move a whole lot. The pattern is locked in and it means that areas that are already cold even as we head into the end of the week are going to stay cold, areas that are warm are going to stay warm. That pattern not really going to change it lacks like until a full weak into the new year when finally some of the warmer temperatures can surge a little farther to the north into places that could use some temperatures finally above freezing. This is the pattern that were stuck with. Areas that we typically think of being cold, colder than average. Areas in the west, areas that you expect to be warm even this time of year are warmer than average. And its those extremes that get even more extreme by this pattern that has become so pronounced. So when we talk about temperatures, they are 20 to 30 degrees below the average. 30 to 40 degrees below the average in the Northern Plains where we already expect extreme temperatures. Meanwhile the southwest, extreme temperatures there. You expect them to be warm but theyre even warmer than where we expect. So as we ring in the new year the eastern time zone dealing with that cold air, Single Digits for the eastern time zone for places like new york over to ind yap liss indianapolis, the central time zone is pronounced when the northern half of this time zone is below zero and for the Mountain Time zone kind of the same scenario, much colder to the north but temperatures above the average to the south ringing in the new year in the pacific, temperatures are warm.
