A person who seemed to be so dispassionate in a way that many scientists maybe are. He didnt appear to get either upset or excited over the results. You know . He tried to stay neutral, and as a result even some of his the observations that martian might make if they landed on earth, incredibly obvious. Sometimes theyre incredibly but we dont think about them. Obvious, these experiments that milgram came up with are ones that were going to keep. Its relevant now, its relevant 40 years ago, its relevant in 10 years. Its relevant in america, its relevant in syria, its relevant in every country because its about human beings. Its not just about the participants in this movie. I play miller, who is a patient. T. Hes kind of the firststerson to, milgram got into this experiment to see what would happen if he was told to hurt he didnt get an answer correct. Answer correctly. I think im an actor who plays roles that people relate to as kind of an everyman person. So i think we can all relate to what it is. Kate winslet, michael fassbender, seth rogen and director danny boyle showcased their film about the man who revolutionized technology, steve jobs. At the beginning, the script is an exceptional piece of writing. That sort of writing you dont really come across. Well i certainly dont. , it just completely bowed me over when i read it, and i just felt very privileged that it ended up in my lap. X its a constant flow of dialogue. Its really just people talking. Its done in real time, and there were many things that were unique about the experience, and as actors it was the ultimate challenge, b bause not only did we really have to learn all our lines before we even walked on to the set and know exactly what we were doing, but we also had to really take ownership of those characters, and not just bring them to life, but give them Something Else so that an audience can experience a whole other side of steve jobs. Its set behind the scenes, just before each of the product launches. In 84 when he launched the macintosh, the first personal computer, in 88 when he launched the computer everyones forgotten about called next, which wasnt a success, and in 1998 when he launched the imac, which really did change everything, becaususit introduced the internet into everybodys home and made computers very cool style items. He used me as bait. Here is this weeks rundown of the top five movies in the usa. Actuay let if you do not believe, peter, then neither will they. Forever, even in neverland. We are running out of time. I guarantee you that at some point, everything is going to go south on you. Marilia when we come back on the more from hollywoods marilia thanks for joining us again. Lets get back to more hollywood news on the hollywood news report. A scary tale that will give you goosebumps. Two siblings and a wife all r one haunted roof. And a cold war spy swap. New in theaters. Whoa, an abominable snow man in pasadena . These are all goosebumps manuscripts. Why are these books locked . Did you unlock a book . Did you unlock a book . Ill put it back where it ill put it back where it oh, no. I am sorry. Belongs. No, do not open it. R. L. Stines nightmares jump from the page to the big screen as jack black, odeya rush, and Dylan Minnette battle the terrifying monsters created in goosebumps. When i was younger i created my own friends, monsters, demons, to terrorize my neighborhood and all the kids that made fun of me. They became real to me. And then one day they actually became real. Goosebumps is about the author of goosebumps, r. L. Stine, and the idea is that all of the characters and monsters that hes ever created actually exist in real life and are trapped inside the manuscripts, and when those books open, out come the monsters, and the whole movie is just me and some kids from the neighborhood trying to catch all of the monsters and get them back into the books. The genius writer who has a dark side, thats why i thought orson wells was the right direction. He said, just be mindful of my audience. I got a lot of kids who love my books, so you can be scary but , dont be too scary. You dont want to terrify. You dont want to traumatize. So we brought it right up to the line, and this guy here was constantly threatening to cross the line. Because i danced on the line. He wants to go too far. He wants to be the most terrifying thing anyones every seen. So we had to tone him down, hold him back, but he still got his look at those eyeballs. I do not remember writing about a giant praying mantis. It has a little bit of everything for everybody. The comedy. What else am i missing . The scares. As a fan its the coolest sometimes theres a part of me thats like what would it be like to not be in this movie . Man, id be so excited. I am so excited, but to go and see it opening night. My anticipation would be super, super, cool. Bubui think its a cool way to do the movie and as a fan im very satisfied. Come on scaredy cat. , edith, this is my sister. X i dont think shes the right choice. X youll have to trust me. X Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain try to keep their haunting family secrets hidden, in crimson peak. What d you think . Does it look the part . It does. Although, its even colder inside than out. X i know. Its a disgrace. X its a mix of different genres. There are some horror and thriller and then a lot of drama, and then of course the romance. The love and the romance in here is very powerful particularly because its sort of dangerous and scaca, and i think most people sorof experience that. Almost in a wawathe ghosts are less scary than this kind of ovovwhelming love, and the ability that has to kind of change your reality. She knows who i am and she wants me to leave. Nonsense, my dear. Youre not going anywhere. You had a bad dream. You were sleepwalking. No, im afraid i shall go mad if no, im afraid i shall go mad if i stay. My darlinin youre imagining it just made me depressed to be honest, because when you spend your day, the costume was really painful to wear and its the most difficult thing ive ever worn with the wig, and then shes so heavy and dark, and to do that all day long, and then to kind of go home, and you spend a couple hours by yourself at home, and then you go back and do the same thing the next day, you spend more time wearing the characters clothes than you do your own. It just depletes you of energy. I was supposed to go do another film after crimson peak, and i had d leave that film. Ive never had to do that before, but i had to take a break because i just got so depressed playing this character. We both agreed that more often than not women are asked to disrobe more than men, and we unfair, and guillermo and mia and i talked about it, and we all agreed, and i really personally felt that that scene was so important because gothic romance contains these opposing forces of love and fear, of sexuality and the prospect of death, and that people are putut in dangerous situations, impelled into these situations because of their sexuality. Because theyre drawn to somebody that theyre attracted to and guillermo and i knew he was going into some very graphic places with the violence, and we all thought it would be imbalanced not to have that scene in there too. So he mocked me mercilessly for it, but i think it does give the film some balance i hope. He insisted on showing his butt, whether we shot it or not. Did he reallyly he was dying to show his butt. I have never seen anyone that eager to be naked. He was like not yet. This is a dinner scene. But he was there. I am here to take you away. There is nowhere else to go. This is your home now. Now, lets take a look at some more films on the hollywood news report. They got our guy, our spy pilot. We got their spy. We want you to negotiate the swap. X im an insurance lawyer. X are you good at what you do . Tom hanks stars as an insurance lawyer who is recruited by the cia to Steven Spielbergs bridge of spies. You cant accuse abel of being a traitor. Hes not an american. Listen to yourself; youre defending him already. Youre rehearsing it on me. You said you were just thinking about taking it. I am just thinknkg about it. Its very hard. Everyoyo deserves a defense. This is our 4th movie together. So i know that steven thinks in cinematic terms. He thinks faster than he talks. The movies that ive made with steven are very different one from the other. Saving private ryan was this emotional piece of historical documentation along with this other kind of like heartbeat to it. The terminal was this, you know, one off set piece that was looking at a very specific almost american behavior at this time kind of story. Catch me if you can i jumped on, called them up, and d saididhey, i know its leos movie, but if anybody is playing this fbi guy and they drop out let me know. You know this takes a man who is , willing to go deep, deep, deep, deep into the nuts and bolts of the law, and that requires a aery special kind off tention and energy, but also faith in the nuts and bolts of the law that he had. And my job was to make that evident in every opportunity that i had. As for abel, if he dies in an american prison, the next russian operative who gets caught mighththink twice about keeping his mouth shut, and you never know. Again and decide to trade russian secrets for small american favors. One of thththings i loved about the story was everybody you think should be wearing a black hat isnt necessarily wearing that hat, nor did they intend to, and so it sort of doesnt make it easy. Especially when the film asks you to root for someone that is a spy against the National Security of our nation. How could we possibly come out of the other end of this experience caring about this pepeon in the least . But in this case we do. You know the character that tom , hanks plays, james p. Donovan, he was i guess what you would call the standing man, or the stand up kind of guy that stands up for what he believes in to be basically y stice for all regardless of what side of the iron curtain you were on. In this case whether you were a communist soviet spy, where your sympathy lied. He was only interested in the letter of th law, so based on some technicalities and flaws he found in the arrest of abel and the illegal search and seizure of his studio and his apartment he was able to find some i guess fissures in the states case against rudolph abel. And was able to get a very good defense underway. X whatre the rules when you dont know what the game is . The next mistake our countries make could be the last one. The odds are in your favor when you have this guy on your side. New on dvd. X this whole chunk of land will be decimated. Are you saying the whole San Andreas Fault might go off . Everybody down dwayne the rock johnsons epic disaster film san andreas is now available to see on dvd. My god oh, ready . Do i sound ready . I already feel like werrthe most connected, but i think this so date will seal e deal. Sure i offer multicar, safe driver, and so many other discounts that people think im a big deal. And boy, are they right. Ladies, i can share hundreds in savings with all of you just visis progressive. Com today. But right now,w, its choosing time. Ooh we have a winner. All what . [chuckles] hes supposed to pick one of us. This is a joke, right . That was the whole point of us being here. Marilia we haned, and we have got a lot more m news to show, only on the hollywood news report. The stars of breaking through hit the red carpet in found footage style dance film. Hollywood to premiere their found footage style dance film. Im excited to see the dancing in it. Its real dancing. It is not show. It is not. Its all about the choreography, and as a dancer im excited about that with the movie. Ive been dancing all of myy life, so that wasnt a challenge at all. The challenge was actually ting. This was my first acting job, so it was a lot of pressure, but i mean, i enjoyed it, and the director and the producers had a lot of faith in me. Weve got the worors best dancers in this movie; les twins, poreoti, ian eastwood even does a little cameo in it. I think the fans are going to love this film. If if theyre passionate about it is big on youtube. If theyre passionate about their dancing. Whether it be the stotoline or me e d john kind of like fifiring out what maybe e ch know, just even the song itself, you know you draw inspiration , from everywhere, so that stuff kind of came pretty easy. So it was more the logistical end of making a film, which i hope they like this new i just gotten off of a dance movie, so i was working on a dance movie for like a year, a year and a half, and basically e future of dance was on the internet, and this world that was on youtube, and i was like somebody was going to make a movie about this, and it might as well be me. Thats where it started. That boy makes it, all will be lost. Here is a look at this weeks just shut up. We have to teach this kid how to be a monster. Wow. If we get his bangs fangs to come out. If we do this . We are talking mutiny. If anything goes wrong, the we die. Tom hanks and others stepped out in new york to debut t eir lm. Ryan, alan alda and steven spielberg. Its fun, bututts also a scararopportunity, you knonoyou dont want to screw up. You never want to be making your last movie with steven i cant help it, but thats a risk i run. The drama is errant to the cinematic process, but steven is about as good as youre going to get. You not only can get involved in the immediacy of the film, but then well have a carryover afterwards to find out well what did that mean, in that world at the time, then you really hit e third of the great es. Its been entertaining. Its been educational to a degree, and it can actually be enlightening in regards to not only world events, but i think your own personal take on what would happen if you were forced with the situation of having to do something you dont want to do. It is good stuff. Its an entertaining nematic experience for a spy thriller. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, t its also about this incredible man, an everyday man, an insurance salesman who had this beautiful foresight, who was trying to do right by his family, but also knows how to live by the right rulebook and the constitution. Put aside his own fear, and to have that ability in scary times is a great hero. Makes a great hero. He story is a true story that took place 50 or 60 years ago, but its still relevant now, today. You could leave the theater and have a discussion for the rest of the evening about what this picture is about, and you could have interesting points to make on both sides of the argument. This is about a tenacious bulldog of an insurance lawyer. Only in that sense is he a fish out of water, but he was one of the prosecutors at the nuremberg youve got this guy who stood on his principles and really believed in his client even , though his client was an accused enemy combatant, he believed in equal justice under the law of the constitution of the united states, and he believed in that, and he was a principled man, and thats why he achieied what he achieved i i this story. Marilia thats it for this week. Please join us next time on the hollywood news report, where news is entertainment and
