Several fires are burning across california. The latest one was in burbank where it came dangerously close to homes. It forced mandatory evacuations throughout the day. The fire started around three this afternoon. Firefighters were spraying water. To prevent the flames from getting to homes. Crews managed to contain the fire. Tonight they are keeping an eye out for hot spots. pam tonight firefighters are trying to get a handle on a wildfire that sparked yesterday in San Bernardino county. So far. More than 600 acres have burned. And it is only 40 percent contained. Hundreds of firefighters are battling the flames. Authorities have lifted the mandatory evacuations in the area. But highway 330, which is near the area of the fire, is still closed tonight. pam another blaze in marin county is now contained. Weve learned it was the result of a tree limb. Falling down on a power pole. The pine fire as it was called. Started yesterday morning near kent lake. Firefighters contained it earlier today at 38acres. It never threatened any homes. And no evacuations were needed. steve bart officials saytheir watching you. pam all trains are now equipped with surveillance cameras. Police in Rancho Cordova are investigating the death of a toddler who was found inside of a car. And as of right now. A man and woman have been detained and are being questioned by detectives. It all started at about 12 30 this afternoon. Police found a white toyota ravfour parked in the wrong direction on a popular street. Officers approached the car and saw two people inside. Police found that the man had an outstanding warrant out of arkansas. And as officers began searching the car they found the body of a toddler covered with blankets in the backseat. As of right now, police have not released much information on the toddler and are still trying to figure out the cause of death. steve in San Jose Police are investigating what appears to be an attempted murdersuicide. Officers responded to a shooting on creston lane by mclaughlin avenue in san jose around 9 00 a. M. And found a man dead in the middle of the street shortly after. They found a woman in a nearby home who was also shot and injured. Police blocked off creston lane for about three hours as they investigated. Police say the man called 911 after trying to kill the woman and then shot and killed himself. Thats when the woman ran away into a nearby home and called 911 in the home.
