In scottsdale officially opened its doors. Of course, this venue has been called a next generation facility, offering visitors a handson experience with the dolphins. But the facility hasnt been without some controversy. Several protests have been held during the construction of the project. Demonstrators say these mammals should not be held in captivity. And today, two protests were held just blocks from dolphinaris. Fox 10s stefania ok reporter yeah, linda, as you said, a lot of controversy leading up to the opening, the grand opening which was today, of dolphinaris. But even on the day of the grand opening, these protesters did not back down. They are still out here right now, even with dolphinaris being about to close in just about an hour. Now they are holding their signs here. You can see tanks are cruel, cruelty is not entertainment. They are totally against these dolphins being held in captivity, despite what trainers very safe option. These folks say that its absolutely cruel, and they dont want it going on. On the day of an exciting grand opening of dolphinaris arizona. Dolphins free, az they linedie the dolphins should not be held in captivity away fro homes. Inside dolphinaris, you can swim with them, kiss them, take pictures with them, and even become a dolphin trainer for a day. They promise an amazing and inspiring experience that will also educate the guests, but to these Animal Rights activists, its just not right. These animals were born in human care. They come from other federally licensed zoological facilities, so we are under strict regulations with restaurant quality food and top care. Officers say at about 8 30 last night, 36yearold Robert Pruitt was stabbed and killed near 19th avenue and peoria. Now, according to suspect has been identified as 38yearold olen coho. He was arrested earlier today. They say he cut pruitt after he got into some sort of argument. The two new each other and he has been booked into custody on charges of seconddegree murder murder. A deadly headon crash sent and its gotten so much worse. You can see these pictures from skyfox flying over the scene near 59th avenue and camelback. Firefighters had to cut the four patients from the car. Well, sadly, we have learned that a teenage girl and boy hurt in this crash have died. A third person was also taken to the hospital and has serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle did stay on the scene and is now in police custody. Officers think impairment may have been a factor. In the border battle, Border Patrol says two women were arrested this week trying to smuggle nearly 125,000 worth of marijuana into the u. S. Agents say a narcotics Detection Dog found 216 pounds of pot hidden in a cadillac that was being driven by a 22yearold douglas woman. Later officers found 33 pounds a mercedes driven by a 33yearold woman. Both were turned over to Homeland Security for further investigation. Police are asking for your help also finding a couple of suspects and a robbery here in the valley. Lets start with a suspect who robbed a phoenix home. The suspect robbed the home back in august and stole several items, including the victim credit cards. Now, the suspects used that credit card at a toys r us and at a walmart you are looking at some sort of surveillance stills from those stores. The stores have now listed the man as a person of interest, though that looks like a woman to me. Police say that they are hoping to track down the woman seen with him at the store. Okay. So this is the woman who was with the suspect. They think that she might know about the crime or at least where the male suspect is. The male suspect is the one who was using the credit cards, and we are trying to identify also a female Investigative Lead in the video, and all that means is we believe she has information about the crime or who the male is. On to another robbery. This one police are looking for a man who is accused of robbing two Convenience Stores in about the same area at about the same time. The suspect robbed a circle k about two weeks ago near 39th street and southern, and then about a week later he robs the circle k near 39th street and broadway. The suspect holds up the employees at gunpoint. You see him there demanding money. Police are hoping that the public might recognize this guy. This particular suspect has a tattoo of someones name on the left side of his neck and a tattoo on his right biceps, so thats going to jog someones memory.
