A florida man was bitten by a fivefoot rattlesnake the other day while mowing his lawn. But for kyle cook, unfortunately, thats par for the course. Kyle cook had no idea mowing his lawn could be so dangerous. He turned off the mower when he heard a sound that he thought was cicadas. It wasnt. Hidden under the brush, a fivefoot eastern diamondback Rattlesnake Ready to kill to protect her eggs. Back, and it struck. I fell back, and when it struck again, i knew i needed to get out of here. Three months ago, he was bitten by a recluse spider. Doctors scooped out the dead tissue. Four years ago, he was working outside in a rainstorm, with a foot in water, the other on a truck when lightning struck nearby. A feeling hell never forget. Mike tyson and a jackhammer hit me in the jaw. And then a gator. You can see where it got me, even after all of that, kyle says hes not bitter, but. It needs to stop now though. I dont know what to say. I guess i said five time loser. Im waiting for the fifth event, which im worried about. Whoa. I think youre right. I thought you were being mean, but he is a five time loser. I was thinking maybe hes lucky, because he survived it all, but now im thinking dont go near to him. And dont go table with the guy. So unlucky, his coworkers have a pool about whats going to bite him next, a shark, a black widow, an alien, i dont know. When we find out more about his next adventure, well pass it along. Switching gears, a lot of people getting ready for their fantasy if you have a chance, David Johnson is worth it, now the featured back for the cardinals. So far, looks fantastic in training camp. Your exclusive accuweather forecast on fox 10 news. Had a beautiful friday. Hopefully you got out because it was a should be for this time of year. There was some moisture in the air though, and i am sure you felt that. We are at 93 right now. We are having really nice nights the last several weeks, last couple of weeks for sure, east winds at five miles an hour, humidity at 31 . But keep your eye on the dew point. When its above 55 i always like to remind people that theres a chance for a stray thunderstorm. We need about 55 degrees at the dew point level to have enough moisture in the atmosphere for very slight chance, about a 10 chance, 98 was our high today, 104 is normal, and 117, thats amazing. When you think about five years ago, we were at 117, that was our record. It was a hot august back then. Look at this, our morning lows are right around where they should be. We are at 80 this morning. And we are still seeing a few of those showers, but most of them are dying off, definitely lessening in intensity. W saw some pretty strong thunderstorms today, mainly north of i40, flagstaf some action, prescott saw some. Up along the rim, into the white mountains, and we even saw a pretty big storm happening around queen creek this evening, around 5 30 that created some blowing dust and strong winds and hail, and it was a pretty big storm. But heres whats happening. You can see how things are kind of dying down. Still seeing some light shower activity, north of i40, so well north of flagstaff. A little bit coming up here just to the south of i40 and off to the west of flag and north of but as we move further south, most of this activity has died off. We had a couple of storms north of cells, but they just kind of figured out, and right now things are looking pretty clear for most of the state, except for a light shower here and there. But as you can see here, we are watching the dew points go down, and once they go down, we see our chances of storms diminish but again because they are above 55, we could see an evening time thunderstorm pop up, the kind that makes you wake up and go, oh its like we had this morning. We could see that again tonight and tomorrow morning. You can see the dew points locally city by city. Rain shower, i know a lot of you woke up, i did early this morning. We had a very strong rain cell move through. We saw readings from just a little bit, three hundredths of an inch in safford, all the way to more than an inch up north of flagstaff. So we did get some rain but the futurecast is showing most of weekend. We have a pretty dry weekend. After tomorrow morning, our chances of storms diminish to almost 0 for the rest of the weekend. Lows tonight, really beautiful, 70s in the desert regions, 40s and 50s up in the high country, and for tomorrow, we warm it up but not too bad. A little bit cooler than where we should be for this time of year. One area im keeping my eye on is down in louisiana and the gulf coast regions and florida. Theres a tropical disturbance that could bring massive amounts of rain three to five inches in southern florida, and that could really cause the zika situation to explode there. So we are keeping on eye on that as well for you. But tomorrow well dry it out a little bit, 95, a nice cool 95 for the daytime high, 99 on sunday, 103 on monday, and pretty dry for the next couple of weeks, with a chance here or there, especially wednesday and thursday of next week for storms. He experienced the tragedy when his father was killed by a driver who was distracted by her phone. Shes not facing any criminal charges, however, and now victims son hopes that his fathers story will lead to a change in the laws. I dont have my dad to call when i get off shift to talk to him about my day, and my mom doesnt have my dad to be with every day, like she has been for the last 41 years. It was a small distraction that led to heartbreak for an arizona family. On april 2nd, tom hall, a retired 34year veteran of the phoenix Fire Department, has 69 to his home in the Prescott Country Club when he was hit by a speeding sedan. The point is, we know what she wasnt doing, which is looking at the road. That is what killed my dad, on a street legal motorcycle, 55 in the righthand lane, minding his own business. Yavapai county pursued no criminal charges against the 49yearold distracted driver. Officials felt the only charge that could be p failure to control a vehicle to avoid a collision.
