Fox 10 news at 9 00 starts now. Dozens of firefighters tonight battling a brush fire burning in southwest phoenix. Skyfox over the scene near 91st avenue and baseline. Officials say heavy brush at the bottom of the riverbed is on fi this is a fairly rural area, so fortunately no homes affected, but you will see or, you know, see the flames, smell the smoke in the area, no question about that. A pedestrian hit by a car, rushed to a hospital, we are told the person is in very bad shape. This happened in north phoenix, tatum and thunderbird, we are told the road will be shut down for several hours tonight. Danielle is live at the scene for us. Reporter john and marc, a several police still on scene, investigating this, trying to figure out exactly what happened here. Take a look right here. This is the vehicle that police are telling us that hit this man in his 40s. You can see extreme damage to the front. But police are telling us that the driver of that vehicle did stay on scene. That driver is cooperating. And at this time it does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the case of the driver in this case. But take a look over here. We are right in front of scottsdale christian academy. There is a Football Game going on right now not sure at this time if this man was possibly crossing the street to make it to the Football Game or across the street leaving the Football Game. So just not sure at this time. All we know is that this was a man in his forties, now listed in extremely Critical Condition and as you can see guys, right here, tatum boulevard is closed, the southbound lanes at this time. The northbound lanes are not affected, but police are telling us that this whole area will be shut down for several more hours trying to figure out exactly what happened. So if you have to be in this area for any reason, definitely give yourself plenty of extra time. There is, like i said, the northbound lanes still open. Just the southbound lanes that are affected at this time. If we get any updated information on this case, well bring you the latest as it becomes available. This happened earlier tonight at the intersection of 94th street heres what happened. Police tell us that the driver of the car making a left turn on to 94th street when a motorcycle into them. This is typically what we see happen. Sometimes the drivers turn left in front of the motorcyclists. The investigation is still ongoing but Scottsdale Police say that intersection is going to be closed for several more hours. Just in, a threemonthold baby left unattended in a bathtub full of water for nearly half an hour has died. Clark is under arrest tonight facing seconddegree murder charges. Her baby girl found unresponsive at a home in a tub in Prescott Valley. The infant flown to a hospital in phoenix where she passed away tonight. The body camera video of yesterdays Police Shooting up in kingman has now been released and one officer was wounded in this. The suspect was shot and killed when police returned fire. Now the video shows us how quickly police situations can escalate and we do want you that the video you are about to see may not be suitable for younger viewers. The video begins with a group of Kingman Police officers approaching a home. They knock on doort and announce they are there to serve a search warrant. Officers yell at a man to drop a weapon but the man continues standing there. After repeated commands, the officers call for the use of a taser, and thats when the man another had a bullet pass through his clothing but was not wounded, the suspect shot and killed. All of the officers were wearing bulletproof vests, the Bullhead City Police Department investigating the shooting. And the detective who was shot is in serious but stable condition tonight. 57yearold Dennis Gilbert is one of the two officers who fired on the suspect. He and the other detective have been placed on administrative av officer involved shootings. El cajon police releasing two in videos showing the shooting of alfred olango, who was unarmed at the time. The question is, will the release of this video calm the protests . So far its been fairly quiet tonight, especially compared to whats happened the last few nights. One video is from a surveillance camera, the other from a witness, and in both videos you surrounding the 38yearold after his sister called 911 and reported him acting erratically. Officers say as they approached olango, he took a, quote, shooting stance before he was shot. Earlier today, police explained why they decided to release the videos. We came to the decision based on our collective concern for the publics safety. At the end of the day, it was most important that we put this information out, this video out for the community and the public. That was our and police also showed the fourinch Electronic Cigarette device that olango was hold when he was shot. He is a ugandan refugee with a history of mental illness. In an area of southwest phoenix for the second time this month body parts are found near a business. Who found the decomposing body on the south side of a salt riverbed, coming two weeks after body parts were found in the area. Because it is so close to the one that was found on the 21st, it is an opinion that somehow either an animal dragged that to the location. Thats how it gets the opinion a examiner will help i. D. The attack happened at this Housing Development near 99th avenue and jomax. After that attacker left a construction worker found the woman. She was terrified and crying. Oh, when i sitting on the ground. She had her face covered, you know, and she was very distressed. She was bawling her eyes out. She was on the phone with police, and it was, like i said before, man, it was sickening seeing here like that. She was a wreck. Scary situation out there, and unfortunately police do not have a good description of the attacker, but they say that it is important that they get this dangerous man off the street, so if you know anything about this case you are being asked to call peoria police. Two new sex crime laws are they stem from the controversial rape case involving a stanford swimmer, brock turner, who served just three months in a county jail for raping an unconscious woman. One of the new bills requires mandatory prison time for people convicted of sex crimes. The second law permits Sexual Assault victims to say in court that they were raped, even if the attack does not technically meet that definition under california law. Well, cell phones and social media can make it easier people to stalk, harass, and abuse their victims, and now women are being taught to protect themselves from whats being called electronic abuse. Police say cameras and tracking devices can be small enough now to fit into a teddy bear, so its important to be aware of whats around you. We talked to a victim of online stalking who said over years, into online porn. Somebody is putting out their best efforts to silence you and take things away from you. What do you have to say to somebody who says, this cant happen to me, this stuff is unreal. You would be surprised at how often it unfortunately happens. We urge people to take it seriously. Police say location smartphone and media make it easier for people to track where you are. Last week we told you about the theft of a pig, and now the 215yearold suspects are in custody, and police say its because of social media. The suspects were caught checking out the home and the little pig sprinkles. They came in and took stuff and almost took sprinkles, almost. We posted the story on our facebook page, and the story went viral. Suspicious remark in there, and they did a little bit of investigating and found one of the suspects social media profiles. We called the police stations, told them we have a lead, and it turned out it was right. Our gut intuition worked out. That was interesting, they did a little bit of sleuthing of their own. Police say they were able to track down the suspect, and then he confessed to the crime and turned in his partner too. He did admit to being in that home, committing that and attempting to kidnap the pig, for lack of a better way to put it. And he was also knife enough to identify his friend to us. He squealed as mark pointed out. Both suspects were taken into custody a week after the incident. The teens are now facing felony burglary charges. In the meantime, sprinkles was a little bit shaken up after all of this, but as you can see he is doing fine now. Federal investigators are now going information from a commuter train crashed into a station, it happened yesterday in the morning rush hour at hoboken terminal. One woman died after she was hit by debris. Investigators are waiting for all of the debris to be cleared out so they can reach the front car and other recorders and a camera mounted to the front train. Meanwhile, the ntsb is holding off on questioning the engineer, thomas gallagher, because of his injuries. He was injured, so we wanted to respect that. Well be interviewing all three crew members. This is a mystery in an exotic location, the death of minnesota sisters on islands near africa. Its a mystery tonight what an autopsy shows that robin and her sister anna marie died from acute pulmonary edema or water in the lungs. One of the women also had water on her brain. Both were found dead at their beds at a local resort. Police say the two women were seen drinking the night before they died, but doctors say even heavy drinking would not lead to excessive water in the lung. Sure, drugs can certainly cause this, things like heroin, cocaine edema, drowning can certainly cause it if you get a lot of water in the lungs themselves, as well as altitude sickness or High Altitude mountain sickness. But curiously, police say there were no signs of a struggle or violence in the hotel room. Staff came in and found the two women dead. They say the driver was making a left on to 94th street and apparently the motorcycle slammed into the side of that car. I dont know if the driver of the car didnt see the motorcycle coming, but Scottsdale Police say this intersection is going to be closed for several more hours while they investigate the scene there. This happened at tatum boulevard in between greenway and thunderbird, and Danielle Miller is live there at the scene with the details for us. Sad update, but danielle, we can see the jeep behind you and tell this was a really bad collision. Absolutely, marc, and police just confirming to us that this man who was said to be in his 40s has died from his injuries. A lot of detectives still on scene here, Police Still Investigating exactly what here is the jeep that police are telling us the driver was driving when he hit this man in his 40s. This is tatum boulevard here, right near the southbound lanes, there is a school on the backside of us. This is scottsdale christian academy. There was actually a Football Game going on at the time of this accident out here. We are told that the man was crossing the street here, possibly to make it over to the we are told the driver did stay on scene, cooperating with police. At this time police are telling us that at this time it does not appear that alcohol was related in the incident out here with the driver. As of now, tatum boulevard is closed, the southbound lanes near acoma, the northbound lanes not being affected at this time, but detectives just got on scene so its definitely going to be a few more hours out here.
