A unlv professor in Critical Condition after she was left bloodied and beaten at a popular henderson park. This happened last friday near paseo verde and desert shadow trail. Henderson police say the unlv law professor you see on the screen there, leslie griffin, was found lying injured on the ground. One of the people that found her vincent. He noticed another man quickly leaving the area. After catching up with him, vincent convinced the man to talk to police and give his side of what happened. I just thought it was odd that he was walking away. And quite rapidly. So i followed him. I just said hey man its all good. I dont know what happened but you probably should go back and tell the police what happened. And i said if you were involved you are going to make it worse if you run. And he kind of i guess krystal this is the man were talking about. 23yearold michael madingly telling police he saw her fall to the ground. After other witnesses interviewed madingly was arrested an charged with attacking that professor. He will be in court on monday. Michelle the man suspected of stabbing a local realtor in the neck is behind bars. Police in North Las Vegas arrested 36yearold daniel mora near lake mead and webster street. According to josephine vega, her realtor husband ryan was stabbed in the neck by mora because mora and his family wanted to stay at that property. Tenants did not want to move. So we gave them a chance to buy that property but they didnt qualify. Michelle vega is still in the hospital but is said to be recovering. As the water continues to rise in North Carolina, so does the death toll. Unfortunately people have lost their lives following this hurricane. Michelle officials continue to issue warnings about the massive flooding they say. Unfortunately the worst may not even be over yet. Nbcs North Carolina with this report. Reporter we are here in goldsboro, North Carolina where the city is seeing historic flooding. Worse than what they saw from hurricane floyd back in 1999. The water you see behind me here, as far as the eye can see, this is North Carolina street. About three feet of water. And this water is coming from the washed out roads making it difficult for Emergency Personnel to get the help where they need. Governor mccrory has been giving daily updates to the media. Here whats he had to say this morning. If you are around the tar river, neuse river, lundy river stay away from the water. Whether walking or riding in a car, do not get reporter for people who have had to leave their flooded homes there is help. The American Red Cross has set up more than 60 shelters across eastern North Carolina sheltering 3,000 people. All of this water that is hitting goldsboro from the river, that will move down stream and there are several river communities further down stream that could see historic flooding from this aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Aerials from a drone show the devastation and destruction Hurricane Matthew just devastated that country. Hundreds of people were killed by last weeks hurricane. And the United Nations says 1. 4 million haitians need help. Supplies have been trickling in but are slow to reach increasingly desperate remote areas. The aftermath of Hurricane Matthew has increased the risk of renewed spike in cholera. So that country just really facing a lot of challenges as they move forward. As ppl parts of North Carolina really hit hard by flooding as a result of Hurricane Matthew. The number of fourlegged friends impacted as well. A pack of puppies is among those who are really having a tough time. A team of firefighters rescued more than a dozen from an animal shelter. A breach along the river prompted flooding monday morning. So they still dont know if the dams are going to hold. President obama declaring a state of emergency in north federal funds immediately available to those areas that have been hit by the storm. Seems like weve been getting updates daily from the governor about how dire the situation is in that area.
