Police have released the names of two people who died after the in a highspeed crash. They are identified as 34year old Jonas Rouillard and 28year old autumn flowers. Both are from sioux city. They were taken to Mercy Medical center, where they died of their injuries. Popoce say rouillard was driving the cacaat a very high rate of speed on 25th street, tuesday afternoon, when the car smashed into an suv that was backing out of a driveway near morgan street. The car then hit a tree and another vehicle, flipping onto its roof. Nobody else was seriously injured. The car was reported stolen last thursday. Police say the vehicle was owned by phonmalay xayabanah of sioux city. The incident remains under investigation. A hoskins man is getting probation fovandalizing a northeast nebraska cemetery. Michael svatos was sentenced to 36 months probation. Svatos was arrested in june, after he was caught on Surveillance Footage knocking over gravestones at the Trinity Cemetery near hoskins. The cemetery had been the subject of a number of vandalisms over the course of a year before svatos arrest. Svatos had been held in the Pierce County jail while awaiting sentencing. Svatos pleaded no contest to felony mischief back in september. Two of the three men convicted for their roles in an atm heist from a bank in northwest nebraska were sentenced today. 23year old Jacob Christensen and 22year old Cody Murphree of norfolk were each sentenced to 3060 months of jail time in Wayne County District Court on wednesday. The pair plead guilty to felony theft and felony criminal mischief charges in september after being arrested for stealing an atm from the Elkhorn Valley bank in hoskins in late june. The third suspect in the case, 24year old david rhodes has also been convicted of the same charges but will be sentenced in december. A northwest family caught with large amounts of marijuana in utah is now back in storm lake, iowa to face charges. Utah Highway Patrol officers stopped Abel Medina Rios and his two children, 28yearold raquel and 26yearold abel back on october 19th. They seized about 55 pounds of a loaded handgun from their car. The norfolk, nebraska Operations Manager says this mixture is more effective than traditional salt brine, which has been used in recent years. Well what the beet juice does for us is it allows us to use the salt brine at a lower temperature. If we put in a 10 mix of beet juice, its good until 5 degrees, where if we just had the salt brine itself, it would be good until about 25 degrees this mixture follows a trend in nebraska of using a more effective way to keep roads safe this winter. Traditional salt that is used to break down ice can cause rust on cars and potholes to form on roads. Dooley says this new solution attacks both of t tse issues.
