Reporter speakers called on the crowd of mostly white locals to do more than make signs against hate and to get behind activism. On the sidelines these childhood friends served up cheesecake, a term from a skit on saturday night live. We are fed up and we want to be more active. Weve been going to a lot of marches and rallies. Now we are motivated to do something positive. Reporter many are saying they should not be ignored. This is an issue that cannot be ignored. Reporter and i hate demonstrators may get a chance next week to attend other demonstrations scheduled by White Supremacists or white supremacist sympathizers. A crowd of people turned out in alameda today for rally to condemn extremism. Members come out every saturday in support of justice and equality. Organizers say many were aligned alarmed about account about the death of a counter protester in charlottesville. To say no, not here, not anywhere in our country. Not anywhere in our world. The group holds a rally for progressive values including healthcare every saturday from noon until 1 00 p. M. And anyone can take part and join them. And more demonstrators filled the streets and in antiracist march. I want to thank everyone who came here today and express themselves in such a positive, great manner today. Reporter according to boston police, their free speech rally ended in the early afternoon but demonstrators continued to pack downtown boston. Officers in riot gear came out to clear them out. And the naacp held a press conference and rally raleigh north carolina. This is more than just about statues. It is actually about the statutes and the agenda. And we have to challenge it. And we can challenge it. Reporter more marches like this are planned across the country. President donald trump weighed in on that protest. He wrote looks like many anti Police Agitators in boston. Police are looking tough and smart. 90 minutes later he said i want to applaud the many protesters in boston that are speaking out against bigotry and hate. He also tweeted sometimes you need protest in order to heal. One of the Virginia State troopers killed in a Helicopter Crash last week was laid to rest today. Family, friends, and fellow officers gathered to remember lieutenant collins. Officers and the helicopter were monitoring the charlottesville protest before the crash. There was an accident this morning in antioch and three people were injured. One adult and two children were flown to the hospital with serious but nonlife threatening injuries. Investigators say it does not appear that alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. They say the driver may have had a medical emergency moments before the crash. The king and queen of spain visited las ramblas to lay down a floral tribute in honor of the victims from the van attack on thursday. They spoke with the medical staff at the hospital in barcelona. 13 people died in the attack when a driver plowed into a crowd of people. More than 80 were injured. And Spanish Police say they are broken up a terrorist cell in spain. This comes as an International Manhunt continues for this to 22yearold man. They say he was the driver of the van that smashed into the people at the promenade in las ramblas. Authorities say he was part of a terror cell of 12 people. Hes the only person who has not been either caught or confirmed dead. This morning we spoke with jordan fisher. She was visiting barcelona with a friend at the time of the attack. Jordan fisher described the fear she felt as she ran for her life. People were everywhere, trampling over everybody. The entire market. Things were flying everywhere. Nobody knew what was going on. We went to eat and were in the market when it happened. We didnt realize that the taxi was going to drop us off down at las ramblas. There were candles everywhere. All of the shops were open. [ crying ] nobody is going to back down from this. Nobody is going to leave. We are all here for each other. I am still shaky. I had the biggest panic attack of my life last night. [ crying ] i had to go to the hospital. I was undershot. My entire body was going numb. [ crying ] i cannot stop hearing everybody screaming in my head. One girl screaming my face my face their faces in horror running towards us. Jordan fisher and her friend hid inside an ice cream shop, for seven hours, before it was finally safe to leave. A man who died was jared tucker from lafayette. He was the only american confirmed dead in the attack. He was there with his wife celebrating their oneyear anniversary. His wife was not hurt. Coming up, a Second Police officer shot in florida has died. And a congresswoman pushing for a psychological evaluation of President Donald Trump. And a cool down today for most of the bay area. Your forecast coming up. A Second Police officer has died in a shooting in central florida. Kissimmee police say officer Matthew Baxter was responding to a call of a suspicious person. These two officers were shot at point blank range. The suspects are now in custody including one man who was a former marine. They tackled him to the ground, secured him, located a 9 mm handgun and a 22 revolver on his person. And two officers in jacksonville are also in the hospital after a man arrested him after being suicidal. Now to the fallout in washington after the ousting of steve bannon. Supporters of the president are wondering how his agenda will affect the agenda moving forward. Reporter steve bannon was viewed as the custodian of the Campaign Promises of President Donald Trump including putting America First when it comes to foreignpolicy. Now many are worried that without his views in the white house, those Campaign Promises are in jeopardy. A group of 19 groups wrote in part, while others may come and go in the white house, we feel sure that with steve and kelly and at your side, you will always hear the voices of those who have always supported you through thick and thin. Thats a message to others in the white house who dont share those views. Now steve bannon is out. They dont agree with you on these policy positions. I think that will continue. Those things will be pointed out. Because steve bannon has always been the voice to rise up to be able to stop certain things from happening. Reporter steve bannon is not giving up on the agenda. Steve bannon told reporters yesterday that now he is back at the head of breitbart and he is going to war against anyone who opposes the populace agenda of the president whether that is media, congress or others in the white house. A congressman has introduced a resolution, calling on the president to have a medical and psychological evaluation. She says the president has shown an alarming pattern of speech and he may be rendered unfit to fulfill his constitutional duties. This is under the 25th amendment. Which says you can remove a president under such circumstances temporarily. A vote from congress would also be required. The white house announced today that the president and first lady would not be appearing at the Kennedy Center honors. This comes as a growing list of honorees announced they would not participate as a protest against President Donald Trump. This is the fourth time in history that a president did not attend. The ceremony is set for december. A couple streamed their wedding and it turned upside down when their venue caught on fire at a winery. A lot of people in the bay area are heading to oregon to catch the Solar Eclipse on monday. Parts of oregon will see a total eclipse, compared to 75 in the bay area. They expect 1 Million People to come in from outofstate. Many in oregon are stocking up on bread, milk, ice, beer and camping equipment. This is a onceinalifetime event. Evacuation orders were put into place near yosemite where wildfires continue to grow. Take a look at the smoke. The soft south fork fire began yesterday. It is just under 3000 acres and only 10 contained. This is 25 miles south of yosemite and people are being evacuated. I know a lot of people are planning to go to yosemite to see the Solar Eclipse, mark. Will they be able to see it with the wildfire in the area . The smoke will be an added challenge. Typically, we tell people to head east, for the higher terrain. But there were storms today and that smoke will be lingering. Watch out for that.
