Happening now, now that this thanksgiving Holiday Weekend is coming to an end, the airports across the bay area are preparing for another busy travel day. Thousands of passengers are expected to pass through sfo, Oakland International and san san jose monett that today. At San Fransisco international 1. 2 million travelers are expected to pass through the airport this weekend. If you have a flight scheduled today you are encouraged to arrive 90 minutes early. And make sure you check flight status before you head to the airport. Oakland international is seeing fewer passengers flying out of its airport despite spending nearly a half billion Million Dollars to upgrade its terminal. Its seen a decrease of about 5 million passengers since 2007. Sfo has seen a 9 million passenger jump. The decrease is now raising questions about whether ridership on the 3. 2mile b. A. R. T. Connector to oaklands airport will justify that 484 million price tag. Right now about 3,000 people use the b. A. R. T. Airport shuttle bus each day. And we are following developing news in new york city where four people died after a metro north passenger train derailed in the bronx. It happened shortly after 7 00 this morning eastern time. According to reports, so far eight cars have gone off the tracks, and we can see from video that at least two cars are on their sides. Theres no word about how many people were on the train at the time. Fast and furious fans are mourning the loss of Actor Paul Walker this morning. Walker died yesterday in a car accident in southern california. The 40yearold was the passenger in his friends 2005 Porsche Carrera gt when it crashed and burst into flames. His friends say they tried to save his life. There was nothing. We tried. We went through fire extinguishers. The Los Angeles CountySheriffs Office says speed may have been a factor in the crash. The driver of the car also died. Prior to the accident, walker and his friend were attending a Charity Event to benefit victims of typhoon haiyan in the philippines. Paul walker started out his career by appearing in a pampers commercial when he was just 2 years old. His film career took off when he was cast in the fast and furious movies. I need to know for sure. Then im going with you. Walker was currently working on the 7th film of the franchise which was due out next year. Walker was not just a car enthusiast on the silver screen. Off screen he competed in the red line races series. He described himself as out doorsman, ocean addict, adrenaline juneky, and i do some acting on the side. Sending thoughts and prayers to his family. We have new information now on the toddler who fell into a vallejo pond. He does remain in Critical Condition this morning. Police now tell us the 2year old poi was fish boy was fishing with a guardian around 4 p. M. She was attempting to tie a rope around that child to prevent him from falling into the water. When she briefly turned her back he fell into that pond. She didnt know how to swim and couldnt rescue him. A Good Samaritan jumped in and started searching. Once on scene diane stomeyer jumped into the murky water and after three attempts found him. They arrived on scene, within 45 seconds to a minute they were able to identify the location of the child and pull him from the water. He does have lifethreatening injuries or is in a life threatening condition. The area this happened is a popular fishing spot near the fairgrounds and 6 flags discovery kingdom. The boy was first taken to Kaiser Medical Center in vallejo and transferred to oakland where he remains in Critical Condition this morning. About 400 people came together last night at the National AidsMemorial Grove to remember loved ones lost. There is new information ability a Police Helicopter crash at a pub in glasgow scotland. A crane did remove pieces of that chopper today. The accident killed three people on board the helicopter and another five people in the pub. 32 people were admitted to local hospitals with injuries. As of this morning, more than half were getting discharged. Investigators say the pub was packed friday night as people celebrated the eve of a major scottish holiday when that helicopter came down. As you see it was very emotional to see these people that would choke and even young guys crying just through the sheer shock of it. One man outside the pub with a cell phone picture of his father is holding it up. His father is still missing. A Prayer Service for the victims is being held today at the citys main cathedral. A passenger is being hailed as a hero for sacrificing her own needs to help survivors of a plane crash in alaska. The cessna prop plane went down in a remote part of southwest alaska on friday night. Four people were killed, but there were survivors, and a woman phoned for help while trying but failing to resuscitate her 5monthold boy. She then had to overcome that loss and walk nearly a mile in the cold and fog to reach First Responders and guide them to that crash site. New this morning, a strong earthquake has rocked parts of eastern indonesia. The 6. 3 magnitude quake hit early this morning. According to the u. S. Geological survey, there have been no reports of any injuries or damages from that quake. According to a local meteorology, that quake is unlikely to trigger a tsunami.
