In fact the shelves are just over laden with this chemical after chemical after a chemical and you know always want to know what's in those chemicals but I will tell you this this week I had the opportunity to repair the sticky button now for all of you owners of cars out there that have sticky buttons What's a sticky button power window switch cruise control switch radio for gain switch which means you know you can rocket up down which is volume up down left and right so Station are just pushing the whole button in to change from a satellite radio to normal radio to a d.v.d. Player or to whatever you have hooked up to the car. Very aggravating Mercedes in particular had a center stack. Oval shaped dash. Part of the day actually but it's plastic and so what the manufacturers do and what they did which was a mistake is they coated the plastic that they made little black plastic knob outside of your thumb and are larger like oh my and I've got a button that I can do I can kill the start stop which I don't like so I had to push that button every time I get in the car while a button. Is maybe a half inch wide and an inch long and then next to it is that the emergency flasher unit and the door locked door unlock every single button in that car due to the humidity and the heat here in Florida and whatever chemical that Jaguar use on those buttons didn't wasn't compatible. With age and my car was never for any length of time parked out in the sun it's always a garage a car and the bottom line. All those buttons are sticky and that's typical of out of you b.m.w. Mercedes and and I'm not sure of any of any American cars. As long as you have a control button that is painted or are colored with you know like looking like chrome or that satin finish that is aluminized finish the nose of what and or plastic and they wear really well lately come scratch but they wear really well but on this picture car they wanted to they being the manufacturer they wanted the buttons to be the have a tactile nice touch to m And it reminds me of a couple of phone cases i Phone cases that I bought had one and I remember that was a red one in fact for my old I 6 plus and it had a veil of a tease touch to it sorta like to fly on it was you know the difference though Teflon will last and holds up and these buttons did not and show for about a year and a half I put up with this and finally it got to the point where I couldn't drive the car and I began looking front of the car shuttle wait a minute let me call a Jag so I called Jaguar j l h j l r Jaguar Land Rover and got some nice person in there that said Yeah we've had an issue of course when new that we had an issue from our technical service bulletin because it gave a list of all the components so I then reached out to the dealer. As I was directed for them to repair replace the buttons according to the technical service bulletin Now this is not a recall a technical service bulletin and I got a price 5940 dollars 6000 dollars. Well that didn't work for me and I mean you know the car has 65000 miles it's a 2013 model automobile. It doesn't have the course the value that it had one time because it's a huge car now it's a beautiful car paid a lot of money for it and knew had it specially made actually with a color and what have you saw searched for every chemical that I could think of. And that I could find and also use a few tried a few things online and so ultimately the shift knob that also had with the shift ob where you could defeat the a.b.s. Or traction control if you want to drive aggressively You could also push another button that was for snow that would allow all the transmission to start off in 2nd gear so you could have better traction in snow and then there was another one that was a speed limiter where you could set your cruise control at 75 and if you had the speed limiter engaged it would not car would go but 75 and even though you could you know sometimes you you know set a cruise control for 75 or 80 folks and actually you know you're on 90 miles an hour you know what is this we don't well with this speed limit and that's kind of a u.k. Thing but it was there and then one other button that was right for aggressive driving and for the the body control module or the chassis control module to make the shocks stiffer all of those but interest ecu. And ultimately I tried a chemical that was too strong and not only did it remove the stickiness but it also damaged the plastic in the paint so I had to replace the gear shifter a simile and you can buy him you know on e Bay you know for like $150.00 with the new one was $800.00 because it's it's a whole shifter assembly and autos on those cars when you turn when you push the button to start the engine they gear shift toward the surround knob maybe 2 and a half inches in diameter rises up out of the console it's really really cool the problem was that the buttons that I needed on that shifter control only came with a new shifter console generally show that was an expensive. Process ultimately in Germany last week maybe it may be yes but I would have been a week now maybe a week and a half I found. Through a German through another Bosh Service Center where Bosh service center what they use in Germany and I tried that and lo and behold it cleaned off all of the excess gum and boot and glue and whatever and left the plastic as it was brand new and even the little white icons you know for the a.b.s. So that whatever all those icons are still as new so it just replaced it so now I don't have the tax a little to get their black plastic but they feel great and so I was able to this week spin quite a few hours and just finished it actually in my garage last night I finished the last 2 doors that was a right rear passenger door that had a sticky button for the power window and then the right front passenger door that had the power window buttons plus it had the seats you know the memory and the one to say 3 seat buttons that were sticky and got all it fixed and then used.
