A showdown between governor branstad a former iowa lawmakers. Today, former governor chet culver is having town hall in coralville and cedar rapids. Hes now one of the critics of Current GovernorTerry Branstads plan to privatize the states medicaid system. Culver said last week the move could put Peoples Health at risk. Branstad fired back and said culvers trying to quote. Torpedo a thoughtful systematic approach. That kind of partisanship should have no place in trying to deliver the best health care to the citizens of iowa. But some lawmakers say the governor hasnt been able to show his plan would actually save money. A lady got up and said i have alternatives are and which way he should go. A Senate Subcommittee approved a bill that would repeal the governors actions. Governor branstad could veto it, but they hope to convince the federal government to delay the switch. Gun owners in the state are pushing to legalize suppressors. The Iowa Firearms Coalition is working with lawmakers on a bill.
