Students in a Real University barricaded themselves in a classroom today, hundreds of Police Officers stormed the university of california los angeles after reports of an active shooter. Turned out to be a student and a professor who died in a murdersuicide. Ben tracy is there for us right now. Ben. Scott, this is the Engineering Building here where the shooting happened today. We just confirmed the professors name was william klug. You can see quite a Police Presence here tonight. But this is nothing compared to what it looked like here earlier this morning. The Law Enforcement response to this was simply massive. You had hundreds of lapd officers swarming this campus with automatic weapons. You had the fbi, the atf, and 17 ambulances that were sent here. Now that is in large part this is such a huge scam pus. 419 acres in the middle of the west side of los angeles where more than 30,000 students go to school. Now most of those students were on lockdown for about two hours. From social media we could see some of the ways they tried to protect themselves. Some used an extension cord to tie their door shut. Others used a printer and foozball table to barricade their door. This did not turn out to be a mass shooting. This turned out a murdersuicide. The motive for that at this point, scott, is still unknown. Ben tracy on campus for us tonight. Well, tonight most of texas and oklahoma are under flood watches and warnings. At least eight people have drowned since last week. Manuel bojorquez is in richmond, texas, where the brazos river is at a record high and still rising. The driver of this suv escaped just moments before rushing floodwaters near san antonio washed it away tuesday. Dozens had to be rescued when up to 6 inches of rain fell in parts of the state. Near houston the brazos river swallowed up more land and homes including marys. Unbelievable. I dont know what i will do an hour from now. Reporter the water was up to her doorstep yesterday. Today its nearly 3 feet deep. She moved family heirlooms to a nearby storage facility. Thats now flooded too. We cant handle any more. We want to get back to a daily life. Reporter it could be days before the water recede. The worst predictions had the river rising to a record 53 1 2 feet. Here in richmond, it is already an entire foot above that.
