Ukee washington is off tonight. Those stories are straight ahead but we begin tonight with a community in mourning. A large crowd gathered to pay tribute to a teenager killed by a hitandrun driver. Eyewitness News Reporter alex hoff is live at the scene of that accident with how the 16yearold is being remembered tonight. Alex . Quasan turner was off from Pennsauken High School and headed back from hanging out with friends when he was hit near route 130 and 49th street he was left to die and police were left without many clues. New tonight a14yearold is in Critical Condition after getting shot in the back in west philadelphia. Eyewitness news on the scene at 60th and 59. No word on the victims identity. No arrests have been made. Septa says its locate add group Young Children seen on cell phone video attacking riders on the el train last we week. Those children who appear to be around sick or seven years old recorded yelling obscenity, hitting and even spitting on passengers. Police say the four boys got on the train with an adult at second and market. And the disturbing behavior continued until they got off the train at york and dauphin. Septa tracked down the group and connected them with social services. We are hearing tonight from an abington couple who was victimized not once but twice. I felt like because i had been a victim of a fire someone took the opportunity to victimize me even more because they felt like, oh, the insurance will pay 40. Reporter police say this man used that credit card in several stores on broad street in north philadelphia. They dont know if he actually broke into the house but they do know hes using the card. Whats the likelihood of someone coming from north philadelphia up here to abington to take some credit cards to go back down to philadelphia and use them, more likely somebody up here took them and maybe sold them to him. Reporter detectives are looking into all possibilities. Graves says a credit card can be replaced. But he wants his wifes rings back. Working folks out here just like anywhere else. We aint rich. Well, allergies can certainly wreak havoc during the spring the sneezing, sniffling any allergy sufferer can tell you its no fun. But how do you know for sure if its allergies or cold . Good question. Our Nicole Brewer joins us now with the answer and nicole, it is not comfortable at all to have those spring allergies. Its that time of year. Its no fun. We know the symptoms right, jess, but with so much overlap even doctors coat get confused. How do we know if its a cold or allergies . Its a good question especially as the pollen count continues to climb. When off cold, how do you feel . Terrible. What are the symptoms. Runny knows, sore throat. Causing and sneezing. Stuffy. You just dont feel good. You feel like crap. What about allergies . Same thing. The same. Itchy eyes. Sneezing. Tiredness. Cough. How do you know the difference . I guess its hard to tell. Even for doctors. For us distinguishing between does my patient have allergies or a cold can be really difficult. If youre getting a fever chances are its a cold or vir virus. Thats something good to kn know. Second thing muscle aches and pains more like cold or virus or bacteria. I agree with that, yes. Normally with allergies i dont think youll get a body ache. The last thing would be itchy and watery eyes. Thats a really sort of hallmark allergy symptom. Dr. Jenn says its also important to Pay Attention to the onset of symptoms. You will get those allergy symptoms right away. Okay. Thatters no warming up to it. If youre exposed youll get the symptoms. However, a cold is more likely going to come over the course of a few days. Then theres duration. Cold or like the flu that will last for a few days to a couple weeks at most. Allergies if youre not treated, for example, will last for as long as the allergy season las lasts. Or as long as youre exposed to the allergens. Right. Pollen count up and everything. As for treatment this doc says antihistamines work best for allergies. Colds and viruses can be treated with over the counter dead mode indication or antibiotics. We learned something today. I glad you stopped us on the side of the road. Dr. Jenn says about 20 of people suv from allergies and you can get them at any age symptoms are worse in children and adults in their theirs and 40s and the doctor tells me you can even have periods where you have no symptoms at all. She woke an oscar 1962 for her role as a Young Helen Keller in the film the miracle worker. She was best known though for her 1963 sitcom the patti duke show. We were in the 60s yesterday. Back to the 50s near 60 today. Tomorrow were right around 60 degrees. Slightly above average. And then we shoot up to the 70s for one day that day is thursday. Dont get used it to though. By the weekend we start to tumble downward again. Were talking about highs potentially not making it past the 40s by sunday. When you wake up tomorrow morning again below freezing temperatures in allentown, reading lancaster, mount pocono in the 20s. Were at 35 degrees here in philadelphia. But the good news is tomorrow is another day like today with that brilliant blue sky, cloud less skies, gorgeous afternoon. 3 00 p. M. No problems.
