A little bit of everything and what we may have is a little bit of snow which is something we werent expecting to see much more of, but we may as we head into the weekend. Still a lot of uncertainty with both of our systems if you remember back last week in our march forecast we talked about this period, march 10th15th and it looks like theres one threat possibly on march 10, one on the 12th perhaps and possibly another but possibly rain as we head towards the 14th. Lets take a look at whats happening right now. Quiet conditions outside in the city. Nothing going on right now but some spots will have a bit of a wet morning commute not all of us. You can see our system moving in. This is rain associated with a warm front thats lifting through much of the northeast here tonight. You can see most of the showers are missing the city and certain suburbs to the north. Its generally light for now, possibly a few patches of freezing rain up in the highest elevations of the poconos. Most of that missing to the north as temperatures are mild enough to keep the freezing rain away. But the rain will move in overnight, some light drizzle and scattered showers. We also have this strong cold front, a kind of large system, the same cold front associated with that warm front, here it comes moving through portions of missouri. Weve had tornadoes in effect. We have had reports of neighborhoods damaged by tornadoes here this evening so a dangerous situation under way there. Locally weve got a southeast wind temperatures are in the low 40s across our map and across our area as well. As we head into tomorrow morning, you can see most of the rain misses philadelphia to the north and west. So its a wet morning commute. That then really kind of lifts off to the north we may pick up a few stray showers in the city. A few breaks of sunshine and that same cold front comes through with a line of showers and possible thunderstorms very early wednesday morning. So what to expect . Warm front arrives tomorrow, were 1015 degrees above affirming, with fog and drizzle with some scattered showers. Temperatures surge to more than 15 degrees above average in spots. Looking ahead weve got two systems to talk about. Friday morning a weak clipper system moves through, could bring the chance for some rain mixing with snow early friday morning, still unclear about the actual position of that low. Sunday looks like a more potent storm potential. As of right now it looks like the best chance will be the southern parts of our area but it will bring the chance of accumulating snow and it will be cold enough to do so on sunday. Thats a day we have to keep our eye on. Its way too soon to make any judgment about what kind of snow will fall and who will get it. Ive got my eye on it, suffice it to say we go from the mid 60s to the 30s from thunderstorms to snow. Another wacky weather week. All over the place. She cant make up her mind, that mother nature.
