Eye on hermine any potential impact on our area, first look at the forecast, with meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger tracking the system in the cbs3 weather center, katy . We are of course keeping close watch on what this system decides it wants to do, matter of ooh miles could make or break your outdoor plans, coming up this weekend, lets just start things off by taking you right on out to the satellite. You can see the storm system over the course of time here, really beginning to churn, and gather some strength, right on the tail end of the loop. See little more what looks like comma formation, with this system, so it is again gathering strength, and even though it is technically still Tropical Storm right now still building, its intensity, as a result could see it become low grade category one hurricane as it does make its landfall. Regardless of its actual categorization, this will be a very heavy rain producer, especially across florida, more on that later on, you what do we really know this so far . Well, for one thing, it has pretty substantial winds speed, up to six a Miles Per Hour right now, so florida landfall is given, and it will happen later tonight. The uncertainty is how far out to sea does this stay, as it migrates, to the northeast. And that will certainly have a huge determination as to how we have any impact here in the way of any rain, any wind, even the intensity of the rain and wind. Looking at the different forecast models, theyre trying to keep this out to sea, but notice, there are couple of out liars either have it loop de loop back here at home or actually straight inland. Thats where the uncertainty lies. Much more on what we think will happen this weekend, showers we have this weekend are starting to winds down here at home, brooke, back to you. Thanks, good news for septa Regional Rail riders. There is an update on the fleet of train cars, that had to be taken out of service earlier this summer over structural defect. Reporter and brooke, good afternoon, you said it, good news, huge sigh of relief for many Regional Rail riders this morning, septa, announcing, they put back into service four of the silver liner fives after pulling all 120 of them from service exactly two months ago today. Now, those four silver liner five cars departed from the fox chase station, at 8 49 this morning. And this is video of one of them arriving here, at the 30th street station, sometime later. 120 of the hyundai silver liner fives were pulled from service on july 1st, after hairline cracks spotted in the equal lies err beam. This morning, septa Officials Say there is still a loft work needs to be done, showed us process of what it takes to fix those beams, which helped distribute weight throughout a train car. The beams are cut from american steel, and created at the pen fab facility in bucks county where plasma cutter precisely slices into the high strength metal. There is that inspected and painted before the final steel foot is installed. Finally beams are transported by truck to septa facility where workers install them into the actual train car. Four equalizer beams are required per car to fix the problem. The creation process from cutting to foot installation takes 12 hours per equal lies err beam. Transit agencies, we do a a lot of work with them, but having us work in pennsylvania particularly bucks county super important. This project is just one project alone, at any one given time, probably employs 200 people, talking about truck drivers, transportation, all of our different machining operations, anaplasma cutting, everything else. Septa Officials Say they hope to have all 120 of the cars fixed, by midnovember. Live here in the 30th street station, greg argos, cbs3, Eyewitness News. Greg argos, thank you for that live report. Five philadelphia firefighters have been treated and released from hahnemann hospital. Investigators say they were hurt when their truck was hit by a tractortrailer on i95. Investigators say, the tractortrailer jackknifed and hit a wall inside the Chestnut Street under pass. Drivers were stuck. Just ran right into it. I walk down there, i saw the tractortrailer taking up the whole road. Emergency vehicles had been moving us around to get through over there. So this looks like a really major accident. The road was closed for nearly four hours, and reopened around 7 00 this morning. Still ahead on Eyewitness News a foot of rain, thats what people are preparing to handle in the gulf coast. Katie is tracking Tropical Storm hermine. Hey, katie. Thats right, it could end up very well having an impact on our area, directly or indirectly. So coming up well discuss the scenario, what each of them would mean for your holiday weekends. Stick around, the full forecast is after the break. More on Tropical Storm hermine. Told to expect more than foot of rain and possible tornados. Correspondent Omar Villafranca in clearwater where the storm has already soaked the area before even making landfall. Reporter relentless rainfall. How long winds and rising waters, pummeled floridas gulf costes outer bands from Tropical Storm hermine pushed towards the sunshine state. Little nervous. Little more than a little nervous. In is my parking lot. I dont think i can park there. Overnight in sarasota, voluntary evacuations were underway. Emergency crews navigated through waist deep water looking for anyone possibly trapped. They were coming up to me, gun belts were up to here in water. The storm has yet to make landfall. But has already submerged streets in the coastal town of gulf port, dumped more than 9 inches every rain on parts of the state. Governor rick scott has declared state of emergency in more than 50 florida counties. We have 8,000 members of the national guard, that are prepared to be mobilized, but you as individuals have to do your part. Three days of water, three days of food, and if you think you need to go to a shelter, know where the shelter is. Schools are canceled here today in anti payings of up to 20 inches of rain. To make matters more difficult, there could be tornados in florida, and georgia. Omar villafranca, cbs news, clearwater, florida. So, katie, clearly theyre bracing here. Absolutely, yes. Already, certainly as we just saw in the report, rainout of this, making its landfall in florida later tonight, then just move up the coast. Well give you the latest, the latest track of this, and also, what we are expecting in terms of the impact here. I will just say up front there are still question marks that remain, because until this really moves on shore, and then starts to, you know, we need little more time basically in order to pinpoint exactly what will happen here, because within 50 miles there could be major differences within this forecast. So lets get you outside, actually we start thing off by taking about what is happening here locally first, since we did have wet weather to track, earlier on this morning, still finding some leftover showers at this point. But the brunt of the morning frontal passage long since moved taught sea, actually zoom it out one time you can see skies clearing nicely in the wake. Enough cool air building in aloft could help trigger a residual shower here and there. But turn our focus now to the tropics, we take you right on down just off shore. This really has organized nicely in the last kim of hours, look at these heavy rain bands, pushing into the panhandle right now. That is going to add up quickly, and, again there is isnt making landfall into florida until later tonight. Now as we talk about the actual track of this, here is the latest cone of uncertainty frankly as we look ahead to the next couple of days. See how it stays very confined until it passes virginia. Then it just sort of opens up. It is like okay, we dont know whats going to happen. So granted it is going to be making northeasterly tracks, but how far west is it . How far east is it . Thats critical if you have got outdoor plans. Now timing on this generally looks like it is sunday, possibly as early as saturday day night, possibly as late as into early monday. But here is a couple of scenarios we are looking at, especially if this were to move further on shore or inland at least it, would be very, very close to the coast, bringing in the heaviest amount of rain, the most gusty the winds, certainly potential for beach errosion, coastal flooding. The coast would definitely see the main impact from this. But you could end up with rain as far inland as some of the western suburbs outside of philadelphia. If it were to stay little further out to the east, you wouldnt even have any rain further inland, and you would likely ends up with more sun than anything sunday. But minor coastal impacts would still be a concern. So, the running theme regardless of what ends up actually happening is that the coast will see at least a indirect impact out of this. We still have got some damp weather at the shore points in rehoboth beach. This is one spot could end up with soaking rainout of this storm. But, regardless, skies are trying to brighten up right now in the wake of the frontal passage we showed you moment ago. Currently temperatures are anywhere from the low to mid to upper 70s, do anticipate we add couple additional degrees onto this before it is said and done. I wouldnt call it the best beach day you have ever seen, but you will see more sunshine before said and done. Keep in mind, rip countries, have remained moderate. And it will stay that i way with choppy surf, stronger surf no less because there is so much going on in the tropics as of late. So, weve got our eye obviously on sunday. Keep with us, we will be tweaking this as we go along, track obviously is critical here, but at least i can promise you nice ends to the week. Tomorrow looks beautiful. Just the weekend, thats very likely going to have some tweaking as we get closer. Keep checking with us. And take it a day at a time. Even just model run at a time. There go. Okay, good stuff.
