I thought we would see six to 10 inches, to up a foot. Guys ill take you back in time in a second. First, taking you outside show you the view first and for most still looking little hazy for sure. You have clouds here, over campbells field and the ben franklin bridge, looking on skycam 3, facing the city. But we do still have some snow out there. So if it is not falling for you right now doesnt mean it is not everywhere, but lets go back in time here, to storm scan3, what we do, take you all the way to 4 30 a. M. Yesterday. About this same time. Actually we go all the way back, so lets go back to yesterday afternoon 5 00, 5 45 or so. Take a look what happens with time. Do you see how things start to dry out . So it is not the storm pulling away, it is dry air getting slotted into our region. And, as a result, anything that was trying to hit the ground just simply evaporate dollars. That was part of the problem. Could you see that very same thing within the last three hours, starting to fill in little bit here, but thats why were not going to end up with the bigger snowfall totals. So yes, it was a busted forecast. We wont lie for our area. But some of are you still going to find some real good snow out of this. What happened, at least meteorology speak inverted trough set up. Looks like a ridge, in other words, looks like little hill as opposed to little dip. So, what happened was this air subsided, or sank, allowed for Slower Development of any snow over our area. And also a Slower Development of the storm itself t took a while to really get going. Now, there are still Winter Weather advisories posted for choice couple of locations here, Philadelphia County now taken out of the zone, and out toward ocean county, the blizzard warning has since downgraded to a winter storm warning. Same thing for monmouth county. But here is your snowfall map. It has been updated. Do still expect some snow. Is the crazy six12 inches for philadelphia . Absolutely not. But we do still expect that youll have maybe some modest problems as you travel out and about today. Again it is a sharp cut off. The further east you go, even county or two over it, could be completely different ballgame. So, that said, we want to get you coverage around the region. For now we send it out to meteorologist Carol Erickson with the cbs3 mobile weather lab. Hi carol. How are you katy . Ive been having the nicest talk here at the silver coin diner with one of the owners of the gboys company. And all of their trucks are sitting here. You can see them, the lights are on, these are ready to push snow in a number of areas, and theyre just sitting here waiting. There is nothing for them to push. They do the white horse pike from atco down to mullica hill. Look at all of these trucks. While we are getting some light snow here, it is nothing like what was predicted and theyre sitting here plowed down and waiting just for the state to give them a phonecall and maybe we can turn around and show them and go the other way and see these guys, too just waiting around for the state to call and say hey you know, you can go home or you can go to the silver coin and have something to eat. But all of these trucks, this is just one indication of how many people had to spends a lot of time getting ready for this and all the people getting ready for us to be able to get out on the roads. Instead, dry slot did all of the work for all of these people as we back up here in this parking lot. And let you just see some of the manpower from private contractors ready to go on this storm when the storm was not ready to go for us. So they just sit here and they wait for the state to give them a phonecall. Thats thousand looks here in hammonton. And we will turn the light on and head back to you vittoria. If you take a look around, there is nobody here. It is pretty much just andy and me and few of the Staff Members here at Philadelphia International airport. At least in the terminal where were standing. But, i can tell you that the airport has been prepping will likely continue to do that as needed today making sure deice the planes, clearing runways, things like that. In situations like this, the airport makes accommodations for passengers stranded. They call it their hospitality program. Have things like pillows blankets, bottled water personal hygiene kits, things like that, available to passengers who are staying the night. They also have sleeping zones which we saw in passing coming to this terminal. So, the folks are being cared for at least overnight here at Philadelphia International airport.
